Estádio Municipal Eng. Manuel Branco Teixeira is a multi-use stadium in Chaves, Portugal. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of GD Chaves. The stadium is able to hold 12,000 people. The stadium normally holds the national teams' youth games and also some U21 games and also the senior team but rarely. Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut for the Portugal national team against Kazakhstan in 2003, at the stadium.

The municipality is the second most populous of the district of Vila Real (the district capital, Vila Real, is 60 km south on the A24 motorway). With origins in the Roman civitas Aquæ Flaviæ, Chaves has developed into a regional center. The urban area or city proper has 17,535 residents (2001).

Sanjurge is a small rural village and former-civil parish in the municipality of Chaves, in the Portuguese district of Vila Real. In 2013, the parish located 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from the centre of Chaves, was merged into the new parish of Santa Cruz-Trindade e Sanjurge, as part of the White Paper on local authority reform.
