Belmont District, Pennsylvania

Belmont Charter School is a historic school building located in the Belmont neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1927. It is a three-story, brick building on a raised basement in the Late Gothic Revival-style. It features a two-story, projecting stone bay window over the main entrance. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Since 2002, the school has been used as a charter school run by the Community Education Alliance of West Philadelphia.

Haverford North is a neighborhood in the West Philadelphia section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is located north of Haverford Avenue, east of 44th Street, south and west of Lancaster Avenue, and west of 40th Street. The Lex Street massacre is the name, given by a Philadelphia Daily News reporter, to a mass murder that took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States on December 28, 2000. It was the deadliest mass murder in Philadelphia history. Ten people were shot in a crack house in the 800 block of Lex Street in West Philadelphia. Seven of them died.

Parkside is a neighborhood in the West Philadelphia section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Much of the Parkside neighborhood was built during the 1876 Centennial Exhibition. It is a National Register of Historic Places Historic District with many examples of Victorian architecture, some well-preserved, others in poor condition. The neighborhood was populated by German Americans, followed by Eastern European Jews, before becoming heavily African American after World War II. (Directly after World War II it was home to many displaced persons from Eastern Europe, which included Latvians.) In 2008, a shopping mall called the Park West Town Village Shopping Center was completed. Its anchor stores are Shop Rite, Lowe's, McDonald's, and CW Price. It is located on North 52nd Street. Parkside is the home of the Evans Recreation Center. In 2014, the Philly Pumptrack opened at Evans.Parkside was the early home of gangsta rapper Schoolly D, and was referenced in his songs "PSK" (Park Side Killers) and "Parkside 5-2".

Microsoft School of the Future (commonly referred to as the School of the Future) is a public high school located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States that serves grades 9 through 12 as part of the Philadelphia School District. The school opened on September 7, 2006.

Bell Telephone Exchange Building, also known as the Preston Telephone Exchange, is a historic telephone exchange located in the Powelton Village neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built about 1900, by the Bell Telephone Company. It is a three-story, five bay, brick building on a raised basement and once set within a set of rowhouses. It is in the Georgian Revival style. It features an arched entrance and decorative cornice above the second story. It was used as a telephone exchange until 1928.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Athletic Base Ball Club of Philadelphia is a vintage base ball team based in Philadelphia, which plays by 1864 National Association Rules. Athletic is a member of the Mid Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League, competing in the Eastern Division. The club made its debut on the diamond in April 2010 and plays many of its home matches at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park, located in the West Philadelphia section of the city.

Paul Robeson High School for Human Services is a district-run high school in Philadelphia with citywide admissions. The school is one of eight schools in the country that offers a focus in the human services field. The school is named after Paul Robeson.As part of Philadelphia's shutdown of 23 district-run schools in 2013, some displaced students from University City High School were relocated to Paul Robeson High School for Human Services.

Saunders Park is a neighborhood in the West Philadelphia section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is bounded by Powelton Avenue, 38th Street, Lancaster Avenue, and 40th Street. It is west of Powelton Village and north of Spruce Hill. It is named for the park at the northeast corner of 39th and Powelton Avenue. The Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is next to the park. Saunders Park is often considered to be a part of West Powelton, which extends out to 42nd Street. Zoo Junction is an important junction on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where the Northeast Corridor meets the Keystone Corridor (ex-Pennsylvania Railroad main line).

40th Street station is an underground station on the SEPTA Market-Frankford Line, located the intersection of 40th Street and Market Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on the line between the Spruce Hill and Powelton Village neighborhoods in the University City District of West Philadelphia. The station serves a major shopping corridor of West Philadelphia on 40th Street, as well as the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, which lies three blocks south of the station. The station is served by SEPTA City Bus routes 30, 40 and LUCY. The station also serves as the inbound terminal for the SEPTA subway-surface trolley lines when services are diverted from the Market Street tunnels –– on Mondays from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. and during any other unforeseen circumstances. All five trolley routes terminate at the intersection 40th Street and Market Street, just outside entrances to the Market–Frankford platforms.
