The Central Park Bandstand, also known as the Music Pavilion, is a historic bandshell located within Central Park in Orion, Illinois. The bandstand was built in 1913 following a series of successful outdoor concerts in the park. Local engineer J. C. Ericson built the structure in the then-recently popularized bandshell form, which projected sound toward the audience through its rear wall. The bandstand was completed in three weeks; its opening concert hosted the largest crowd that the park had ever held until that time. From its inception until 1925, the bandstand continued to host concerts, usually once per week; movie screenings and church services were also held at the bandstand. Beginning in 1947, the bandstand became an event stage for the Midwest Corn Show, which later became the Orion Fall Festival; the structure is now mainly used during the festival.The bandstand was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 22, 2002.

WXLP (96.9 FM) is a commercial radio station, licensed to Moline, Illinois, and serving the Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa. The station is owned by Townsquare Media and broadcasts a classic rock radio format. Its radio studios and offices are on North Brady Street in Davenport, Iowa (along with the co-owned KJOC, KBEA-FM, KIIK-FM and KBOB). WXLP has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 50,000 watts. The transmitter is on U.S. Route 150 near North 1300th Avenue in Orion, Illinois.

Orion High School, or OHS, is a public four-year high school located at 1103 13th St. in Orion, Illinois, a village in Western Township of Henry County, Illinois, in the Midwestern United States. OHS is part of Orion Community Unit School District 223, which also includes Orion Middle School, and C. R. Hanna Elementary School. The campus is 11 miles south of Moline, Illinois and serves a mixed village and rural residential community. The school is the only high school in the village of Orion, a bedroom community of the Quad Cities and part of the Davenport–Moline–Rock Island, IA–IL metropolitan statistical area.

WLKU is owned by the Educational Media Foundation and is affiliated with the K-Love network.

WDLM (960 AM) is a non-commercial radio station licensed to East Moline, Illinois, and serving the Quad Cities area with a Christian radio format. The station broadcasts at a power of 520 watts during daylight hours and 20 watts during nighttime hours. WDLM's studio and transmitter are located on E200th Street in rural Henry County, Illinois, just outside Coal Valley. Sister station WDLM-FM 89.3 also has its studio at this location. Both WDLM and WDLM-FM are O&O's of their parent network, the Moody Radio Network, which is owned by the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. In 2019, Moody announced it intends to sell the station. According to the frequencies shown on the WDLM website, AM 960 kHz carries Spanish-language programming.

Lynn Township is one of twenty-four townships in Henry County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 745 and it contained 311 housing units. Lynn changed its name originally from Linn Grove Township to Lynnville Township on April 13, 1857, and then again from Lynnville to Lynn on an unknown date.

The Big X is the junction of three Interstate Highways, I-74, I-80, and I-280, near Colona, Illinois. The cloverleaf interchange is particularly confusing for I-74 and I-80 traffic because someone wishing to stay on either route must exit their highway to connect to the other highway. In the 1990s, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) petitioned the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), the body which approves Interstate Highway route numbering, to switch the I-74 and I-80 designations around the Quad Cities to simplify the Big X. Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) officials did not submit an equal route renumbering proposal, so the route numbers were not switched.

Ophiem is an unincorporated community in Lynn Township, Henry County, Illinois, United States.It was founded in 1850 by Johannes and Carl Johan Samuelson, who named it "Opphem", after their family farm in Sweden. A post office was established in 1871.

Colona Township is one of twenty-four townships in Henry County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 6,822 and it contained 2,773 housing units. Colona Township changed its name from Green River Township on April 13, 1857.
