Knockhill

The Black Devon is a river in Scotland. It rises in the Cleish Hills, specifically the area known as Outh Muir, 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) north of Knockhill Racing Circuit, around 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) north-west of Dunfermline, Fife, with the gathering of three small streams in branch formation. The river flows westwards through Balgonar, north of Saline, and then merges with the Saline Burn. The Black Devon flows into Clackmannanshire, through the hamlet of Forestmill and past the town of Clackmannan. The Black Devon enters the River Forth south of Alloa, 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) north of Dunmore Pier. It is a narrow and shallow river that holds wild brown trout, and also sees sea trout in winter months that come into the Firth of Forth, which is tidal as far as Stirling. The Rivers and Fisheries Trusts of Scotland manage the River Forth and its tributary rivers, which besides the Black Devon include the River Devon, River Teith, and River Allan.

Dumglow (379 m) is the highest peak of the Cleish Hills in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is located north of Dunfermline. An ancient fort lies on its summit.

Dunfermline (Scottish Gaelic: Dùn Phàrlain, Scots: Dunfaurlin) was a local government district in the Fife region of Scotland from 1975 to 1996, lying to the south-west of the regional capital Glenrothes.

Aldie Castle is an historic building east of Crook of Devon, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is a Category A listed building. This three storey tower house dates to the early 16th century. A two-storey extension was made and a separate parallel three storey range was built and a link range between. It has a concealed vaulted basement.The castle was the former seat of the Mercers, who acquired it from the Murrays of Tullibardine around 1350. It later passed to the Nairn family and then through marriage to the Lansdowne family. It was restored in the 1950s.

Cleish Castle is a 16th-century tower house in Kinross-shire, Scotland. It is sited 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south-west of Kinross and 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) west of the hamlet of Cleish. It was built by the Colville family, who owned it until 1775. It was restored and remodelled in the mid 19th century, and restored again in the 20th century. It remains a private residence and is a category A listed building. The grounds of the castle are included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, the national listing of significant Scottish gardens.

Steelend is a former mining village in West Fife, Scotland, located on the B914 road approximately three-quarters of a mile east of the village of Saline and four miles north-west of Dunfermline. The village is home to a community centre and the Steelend Miners Welfare Club. A church was once located in the village but was demolished in the 1980s. In 1991 it had a population of 320.The now-defunct Steelend Victoria F.C. were based at Woodside Park on the east side of the village until 2013 when the club folded due to financial issues. The name comes from a farm on Saline Hill north of Steelend.A goods railway station once existed to the east of the village on the West of Fife Mineral Railway. The station served the several collieries that once operated nearby to Steelend, which included Sunnybraes Colliery, Saline Valley Colliery, Killernie Colliery and North Steelend Colliery.The public transport serves the village in the form of buses which run to Dunfermline, Falkirk or Rosyth.To the south of the village is Bandrum Hill, on top of which is a large standing stone, which are accessible from Steelend by a path. To the north of the village is the eastern end of Saline Glen, which carries the Saline Burn and a footpath which leads west into the centre of Saline.

Gowkhall (for a period known as Balclune) is a hamlet in Fife Scotland, 3.6 miles (5.794 km) west of Dunfermline. The nearest village of size is Carnock 0.8 miles (1.287 km) to the west, which has a church and primary school. To the south there is the Dean Woods past which is the village of Crossford, which has two hotels and businesses.

The Scottish Vintage Bus Museum is a transport museum in Lathalmond, 2.5 miles north of Dunfermline, Fife. The museum is open every Sunday between April and the start of October.

Bowershall is a village in Fife, Scotland, UK, situated near Craigluscar Hill, two miles north of Dunfermline, one mile north of Townhill, and to the west of Loch Fitty, south of the B915.

Carnock (Scottish Gaelic: A' Chàrnaich) is a village and parish of Fife, Scotland, 4+1⁄4 miles (7 kilometres) west of Dunfermline. It is 1+1⁄4 miles (2 kilometres) east of Oakley, Fife. The name of the village derives from Scottish Gaelic, from ceàrn ("corner"), with a suffix denoting a toponym, thus giving "[the] corner place". Carnock is known to have had military significance in antiquity. The civil parish had a population of 5,927 as of 2011.

Cleish is a rural hamlet off the B9097 between Crook of Devon and the M90 motorway, three miles south-west of Kinross in central Scotland. It lies in the historic county of Kinross-shire. At the last census (2011), the population of the civil parish was 685.The village is mentioned in Sir Walter Scott's novel The Abbot. The majority of buildings date from the 18th century and the village retains much charm. The school dates from 1835. Queen Anne High School is a large secondary school in the city of Dunfermline in Fife. It is named for Anne of Denmark, the queen of James VI, whose former home was the school's original location.In the 1930s it moved to the former Dunfermline High School building that lay to the north of Priory Lane. In the 1950s it moved again to a new campus at Broomhead, just to the south of its current location. In August 2003 it moved yet again 200 yards to the north, next to and encroaching upon the village of Wellwood.In July 2014 the school was awarded the TES International Schools Award.
