Wetterau

Altenstadt is a municipality in the district Wetteraukreis, in Hesse, Germany. It is situated in the Nidder valley, approx. 27 kilometers north-east of Frankfurt am Main.

Seemenbach is a river of Hesse, Germany. It passes through Büdingen, and flows into the Nidder near Altenstadt.

Lindheim Castle (German: Burg Lindheim) is a former medieval castle in Lindheim, in the municipality of Altenstadt, Wetteraukreis county, in the German state of Hesse. In the Middle Ages the castle became a large joint inheritance or Ganerbschaft of lesser noble families, who were an important local power in the eastern Wetterau. In 1697, stately home, Schloss Lindheim, was built. Only a few remnants of both buildings have survived today.

Engelthal Abbey or St. Mary's Abbey, Engelthal, is a Benedictine nunnery in the Wetterau region, Hesse, Germany. Engelthal Abbey was a Cistercian nunnery from its foundation in 1268, until the secularisation of 1803. It was ruled by Imperial Counts of Leiningen-Westerburg-Neuleiningen and later in 19th century sold to Counts of Solms-Wildenfels. In 1962 it was re-settled by the Benedictine nuns of Herstelle Abbey. The house was raised to the status of abbey in 1965, and belongs to the Beuronese Congregation of the Benedictine Confederation. Besides the normal Benedictine duty of hospitality, the nuns of Engelthal are also involved in the restoration of ecclesiastical works of art.

Limeshain is a municipality in the Wetteraukreis, in Hesse, Germany. It is located approximately 28 kilometers northeast of Frankfurt am Main.

Nidderau (German: [ˈnɪ.dəʁ.aʊ̯] ) is a town in the Main-Kinzig district, in Hesse, Germany. It is situated approximately 12 km north of Hanau, and 20 km northeast of Frankfurt. Nidderau was created in the merger of the municipality of Heldenbergen with the town of Windecken on January 1, 1970. Eichen and Erbstadt joined Nidderau on January 1, 1972 and Ostheim merged with Nidderau in July 1974.

Glauburg is a municipality in the Wetteraukreis, in Hesse, Germany. It is located approximately 33 kilometers northeast of Frankfurt am Main. Glauburg is a municipality of Glauberg and Stockheim. The city hall of Glauburg is in Stockheim. The municipality was created in the municipal reform in 1971 from the districts of Glauberg and Stockheim. It is not far from the A 45 autobahn (Giessen-Hanau). Glauburg-Stockheim station is at the junction of the Frankfurt–Stockheim and the Gießen–Gelnhausen lines. The valley in the neighborhood Nidder Glauburg has 3300 inhabitants and a good infrastructure, leading to a high standard of living and quality of life. Mountain birds are present in several protected areas around Glauberg, which has a number of hiking trails.

The Glauberg is a Celtic hillfort or oppidum in Hesse, Germany consisting of a fortified settlement and several burial mounds, "a princely seat of the late Hallstatt and early La Tène periods." Archaeological discoveries in the 1990s place the site among the most important early Celtic centres in Europe. It provides unprecedented evidence on Celtic burial, sculpture and monumental architecture.

Glauburg-Stockheim station is a station on the Gießen–Gelnhausen railway in the town of Glauburg in the German state of Hesse. It is also at the end of the Nidda Valley Railway (German: Niddertalbahn) from Bad Vilbel. The Oberwald Railway (Oberwaldbahn) to Lauterbach began here from 1 October 1888 until 1 June 1984. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn (DB) as a category 5 station.The station is located in the area of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (Rhine-Main Transport Association, RMV).
