Oakton–Skokie is an 'L' station on the CTA's Yellow Line, which serves downtown Skokie. Previously, a station existed at this location which was in operation as part of the North Shore Line's Niles Center Route from 1925 until 1948, and later demolished in 1964. The current station opened on April 30, 2012.

Main was situated south of Dempster and north of Oakton. Main opened on March 28, 1925, and closed on March 27, 1948, upon the closing of the Niles Center branch.

Howard Street, alternately known as Sibley Avenue in Park Ridge, is a major east–west street in the Chicago metropolitan area. At Paulina Street, it houses the Howard CTA Station, the northern terminus of the Red Line, and, between Paulina Street and Kedzie Avenue, serves as the border between the city of Chicago (community areas of Rogers Park and West Ridge) and the city of Evanston. It runs intermittently through several north and northwestern suburbs, near O'Hare International Airport, and finally terminates at Ridge Avenue in Elk Grove Village. Touhy Avenue is a major street throughout northern Chicago, Illinois as well as the north and northwestern suburbs of the city. It is named for Patrick L. Touhy, a subdivider who was also the son-in-law of Phillip Rogers, an early settler who helped develop Rogers Park. Points of interest along Touhy Avenue include Loyola Park, the Winston Towers, the Lincolnwood Town Center, Lincolnwood Produce & Grocery, Loeber Motors, Hebrew Theological College, Village Crossing Shopping Center, Pointe Plaza, the Shure Headquarters Building, the Leaning Tower YMCA, the Pickwick Theatre, and the northern end of O'Hare International Airport.

Niles West High School, officially Niles Township High School West or NWHS, is a public four-year high school located in Skokie, Illinois, a north suburb of Chicago in the United States. It is part of Niles Township Community High School District 219, which also includes Niles North High School. Its school teams were originally the Indians, but this was later changed in 2001 to the Wolves. Its feeder middle schools are Lincoln Junior High School (located in Skokie), Fairview South School (located in Skokie), Lincoln Hall Middle School (located in Lincolnwood), Culver Middle School (located in Niles), and Park View School (located in Morton Grove).

Fasman Yeshiva High School, known colloquially as Skokie Yeshiva, is an Orthodox Jewish all-boys high school in Skokie, Illinois. As of the 2020-2021 school year, the school has 120 students enrolled in grades 9-12. Fasman Yeshiva offers a dual curriculum of secular and Judaic studies.

Dempster–Skokie, formerly known as Dempster, or Skokie, is an 'L' station on the CTA's Yellow Line at 5005 Dempster Street in Skokie, Illinois (directional coordinates 8800 north, 5000 west). It is one of three stops on the Yellow Line, and currently the terminus of line, although an extension of the line to Old Orchard Mall has been considered. It is one of two CTA rail stations in Skokie, and is at grade level.

Kaufman's, or Kaufman's Deli is a delicatessen in Skokie, Illinois in the United States. The deli opened in the 1960s as a hub for holocaust survivors, and is one of the Chicago area's oldest operating Jewish delis. The deli has been owned by the Dworkin family since 1984, and was rebuilt after a 2011 fire. Bagels at Kaufmans use caraway seeds, which is a Midwestern style.
