New Clee railway station

New Clee is a suburb and an ecclesiastical parish of Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire, England. The ecclesiastical parish is New Clee St John & St Stephen, based on the eponymous parish church, includes suburban streets, the station, part of the docks, and Grant Thorold Park which was a 1904 gift to Grimsby. The parish is part of the Deanery of Grimsby & Cleethorpes. The 2013 incumbent is the Revd Kay Jones.The original Saxon church of St. John the Evangelist was rebuilt in 1879, designed by J. Fowler, the Louth architect. It was demolished when the Cleethorpes road was widened. The church, with both its dedications, now meets at the Shalom Centre in Rutland Street.According to the Church Urban Fund this is one of the most deprived areas in the country.Blundell Park football ground is in the suburb, but outside the ecclesiastical parish. The suburb is served by New Clee railway station.

Grimsby Lifeboat Station was located at the Port of Grimsby, in the county of Lincolnshire. is a former , which A lifeboat was first stationed here in 1882 by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station. With an motor lifeboat firmly established at Humber Lifeboat Station at Spurn Point, the Grimsby lifeboat station was closed in 1927.

Humber Lifeboat Station is an All-weather lifeboat station based at the mouth of the River Humber. The station was opened in 1810, and was located on on Spurn Point in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Previously operated by Hull Trinity House, it was transferred to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in 1911. Due to the waters around this part of the coast being so dangerous, and Spurn Point being so remote from the mainland, it is the only All-weather lifeboat station in the United Kingdom staffed by a professional full-time RNLI crew. Since 1810, the crews having been awarded 33 RNLI medals for gallantry. In June 2023, due to problems with the jetty on Spurn Point, and considering the continuing coastal erosion and difficulties getting access, it was announced that the Spurn Point base would close. Humber lifeboat station would move permanently to their second base at Grimsby Docks, previously used temporarily in certain weather conditions. The current lifeboat is the Severn-class 17-05 Pride of the Humber (ON 1216), which has been on service since 1997.

The Grimsby Ice Factory is a former factory located in Grimsby, England, that was constructed from 1898–1901 to provide crushed ice to preserve fish stored in ships at Grimsby's seaport. The Grimsby Ice Factory engaged in operations up to 1990. The buildings still contain some of the original historic machinery from times of the operations' origins. During its time of prime operations, it produced 1,200 tonnes of ice daily. The building is 4,350 square metres in size, and at one time it was the largest ice factory in the world. The building is deteriorating, and it has been stated that it will eventually crumble if restoration efforts are not undertaken. Furthermore, historic machinery at the site is at risk from exposure to the elements, because the roof is not watertight.

St Mary's Church or its full name St Mary on the Sea Church is a Roman Catholic Parish Church in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. It was built from 1880 to 1883. It is situated on the corner of Heneage Road and Wellington Street in the town centre. It was designed by Hadfield and Son and is a Grade II listed building.

Riby Street Platform was a railway station which served the Riby Street area of Grimsby from 1904 to 1941. It was opened by the Great Central Railway to serve the first dock in Grimsby but was closed during World War II and never reopened. A source with local knowledge refers to the station as "Riby Street Platforms".The station was known as "Skateknob Junction" by workers at the nearby fish docks. It consisted of two narrow wooden platforms connected by a footbridge. Although the platforms had been removed, the footbridge was still plain to see in 1961.

Grimsby Dock Tower is a hydraulic accumulator tower and a maritime landmark at the entrance to the Royal Dock, Grimsby, in North East Lincolnshire, England. It was completed on 27 March 1852, based on William Armstrong's idea of the hydraulic accumulator, with the purpose of containing a 30,000-imperial-gallon (140,000 L) reservoir at a height of 200 feet (61 m), that was used to provide hydraulic power to power the machinery of the Grimsby Docks. The extreme height of the tower was necessary to achieve sufficient pressure, and as a result of this, the tower can be seen for several miles around, even far inland on the north bank of the Humber estuary in villages such as Patrington.

Grimsby Pier railway station was sited on the north Royal Dock pier in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England, between the Tidal Basin arm and the Accumulator Tower. The station opened in 1853, but sources differ on when it closed. Dow is insistent that it closed in the 1870s and was converted into an Emigrants' Home, Butt supports this with a date of 1879 and Anderson gives 1880. Croughton claims it closed at the outbreak of the First World War, whilst a reply to an enquiry to The Railway Magazine implied the station closed at the outbreak of The Second World War. OS Maps corroborate the first three. Boat trains undoubtedly continued to run to the quayside at Grimsby up to 1939, but a station, as such, at the pier was not needed. Passengers were assisted off trains and escorted direct to adjacent ships and vice versa, much as at Immingham Eastern Jetty. As the conversion of the station to an Emigrants' Home suggests, the erstwhile Pier Station was used as transit accommodation for people making their way to the New World, typically arriving from Europe by ship then travelling via the GCR to Liverpool for final embarkation.The station was accessed via a spur from Grimsby Docks station. The substantial building survived until at least 1960 but by 2015 no trace remained.

Blundell Park is a football ground in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire, England and home to Grimsby Town Football Club. The stadium was built in 1899, but only one of the original stands remains. The current capacity of the ground is 9,052, after being made all-seater in summer 1995, reducing the number from around 27,000. Several relegations in previous years meant the expansion seating was also taken away; that reduced the capacity further from around 12,000 to what it is now. The stadium is Grimsby Town's fourth ground, having previously played at Clee Park, Lovett Street and Abbey Park in the club's first twenty years of existence. The record attendance at Blundell Park was 31,651 in an FA Cup tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 20 February 1937. The two clubs also hold the record attendance at Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium when 76,962 people saw the two sides meet again in the 1939 FA Cup semi-final.

Grimsby Docks railway station serves the Freeman Street area of Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire, England. This is one of the oldest parts of the town, close to the Freeman Street Market and the town's docks both commercial and fish, the railway entrance to both being over the level crossing at the Cleethorpes end. The docks offices can be seen in the photograph in the distance, in which the line to Cleethorpes swings round to the right. The station had miles of sidings for the storage of fish vans to its rear and was double track. Between 19 September and 2 October 1993, the main line east of Brocklesby Junction was closed to allow for the completion and commissioning of the Grimsby area Resignalling scheme. The double track line east of Grimsby Town was reduced to single and the whole line was resignalled to colour lights operated from Pasture Street signal box. A short passing loop, enough for the present day traffic, is located towards Pasture Street. Signalling control on the line was transferred to the York Rail Operating Centre in January 2016 and the box at Pasture Street was decommissioned and demolished. Although the train service through Grimsby Docks has been chiefly passenger trains, a thriving freight service originated from the nearby Fish Docks. Prior to the building of the present Cleethorpes Road bridge, a complex railway junction and level crossing was situated on the Cleethorpes side of Grimsby Docks station. The loss of the fresh fish traffic from rail to road eventually resulted in the removal of the junction. The level crossing, being on a major route between Grimsby town and Cleethorpes, was the cause for many delays on Cleethorpe Road. In the mid-1960s, it was subsequently removed in favour of a concrete-built road bridge. The bridge itself caused the wholesale demolition of several buildings housing numerous businesses, banks, public houses and a major hotel (run by the parents of actress Patricia Hodge) but by the time of its completion in 1967 the changes in transportation of fish had made both the bridge and the station redundant. The town's main railway station is Grimsby Town, located in the town centre. The station has the Plusbus scheme where train and bus tickets can be bought together at a saving: it is in the same area as Grimsby and Cleethorpes stations.
