The Nashville Highland Rim Forest (NHRF) is an urban forest and geobiological area within the combined city-county limits of Metropolitan Nashville, Tennessee. The forest consists of a distinctive, nearly continuous, mature hardwood tree canopy in an area of steep to moderate slopes and rugged topography. It is located on a rim of hills that encircles the Central Basin in which Nashville sits. NHRF is situated on the eastern escarpment of a larger, multi-county expanse of elevated uplands that form the Western Highland Rim physiographic region and ecoregion. The NHRF covers an area of 97,000 acres. Four other urban forests that currently claim to be among the "world's largest" urban forests sum to a total of less than half the size of NHRF. Consequently, NHRF appears to be the largest urban forest within the city limits of any major city (population >500,000) in the world.

The Lois M. DeBerry Special Needs Facility is a maximum-security prison in Nashville, Tennessee, operated by the Tennessee Department of Correction. Opened in 1992, the facility houses prisoners with multiple and complex medical problems. The facility has a 250 bed-per-month turnover.The Cumberland River flows along the facility's west boundary, and the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution is located immediately south of the facility.

The Riverbend Maximum Security Institution (RMSI) is a prison in Nashville, Tennessee, operated by the Tennessee Department of Correction. The prison opened in 1989 and replaced its 100-year-old neighbor, the Tennessee State Penitentiary. RMSI, which is made up by 20 different buildings, sits on 132 acres (0.53 km2) located off Cockrill Bend Boulevard in Nashville. Riverbend's designated capacity is 714 offenders. Of that number, 480 are classified as high risk. The prison's overall mission is to ensure the safety of the public, departmental employees and inmates by managing high-risk male offenders. The Warden oversees a staff of nearly 400 people, including administrative workers, correctional officers, unit managers and medical personnel. Education programs at the prison include GED and Adult Basic Education. There are also vocational classes available for printing, commercial cleaning, industrial maintenance, cabinet making/millwork and computer information systems. TRICOR, the prison industry, also manages a data entry plant and print shop at the prison. Inmates not involved in academic vocation, or industry programs are required to work in support service roles throughout the facility. Male death row prisoners live at Riverbend. The state's electric chair and lethal injection gurney are located at Riverbend.

WNQM (1300 kHz), is a radio station located in Nashville, Tennessee, owned by F. W. Robbert Broadcasting. It airs a Christian radio format calling itself "Nashville Quality Ministries". By day, WNQM is powered at 50,000 watts non-directional, the highest power for U.S. AM stations. At night, to protect other stations on 1300 AM from interference, it reduces power to 5,000 watts and uses a directional antenna with a five-tower array. The station's radio studios and transmitter are off Ashland City Highway (Tennessee State Route 12)

Robertson Island is an island on the Cumberland River in Davidson County, Tennessee, USA. It is near its crossing with the Richland Creek. It is the biggest island between Old Hickory Dam and Cheatham Dam. It is close to the Tennessee State Penitentiary.

John C. Tune Airport (ICAO: KJWN, FAA LID: JWN) is a public airport located in the western portion of the city of Nashville in Davidson County, Tennessee, United States. It is owned by the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, located approximately one mile (1.6 km) off of Briley Parkway in the Cockrill Bend area. It is a Class D airport. Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned JWN by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.

Richland Creek is a stream in the western part of Nashville, Tennessee, in Davidson County. It winds for 28 miles (45 km) through the Nashville suburbs of Belle Meade and Forest Hills and eventually flows into the Cumberland River near Rock Harbor Marina at the end of Robertson Avenue. This is one of at least five streams by the name of "Richland Creek" in various regions of Tennessee.

The 5th congressional district of Tennessee is a congressional district in Middle Tennessee. It has been represented by Republican Andy Ogles since January 2023. In the past, the fifth district has been nearly synonymous with Tennessee's capital city, Nashville, as the district has almost always been centered on Nashville throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries. The city is a center for the music, healthcare, publishing, banking and transportation industries, and is home to numerous colleges and universities (its old nickname was "the Athens of the South"). It is also home to the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, earning it the nickname "Music City".Since the 2022 election cycle, there is no longer a congressional district centered on the city of Nashville itself. Tennessee's 5th is a gerrymandered district designed to favor Republican candidates. Prior to the 2020 House Redistricting Cycle, the district contained the entirety of Davidson County, making it a safe seat for the Democratic Party. Following redistricting, Nashville was split into 3 separate districts, effectively diluting the city's heavily Democratic voter base into the surrounding suburban and rural counties, which lean strongly Republican.

The Cheatham County Courthouse is a courthouse in Ashland City, Tennessee. The original seat of government for Cheatham County, the courthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. After Cheatham County was founded in 1856, plans began for a courthouse in Ashland (now Ashland City). The original courthouse was completed in 1869 for a cost of $12,000. It is a two-story, brick, rectangular structure in the Greek Revival-Italianate style. A renovation was undertaken in the early 1900s, which added a large addition on the southwest side of the courthouse. This addition, designed by Robert E. Turberville, also has two stories. The main facade features a portico and Ionic columns. Currently the building houses the Cheatham County courts and general sessions. The courthouse also features a front lawn that has served as a social gathering spot.

Ashland City is a town and the county seat of Cheatham County, Tennessee. Located in Middle Tennessee, it is part of the Nashville-Davidson–Murfreesboro–Franklin, TN Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the town's population was 5,193.

Nashville Christian School (or simply Nashville Christian) is a co-ed private Christian school for ages six weeks through 12th grade located in Bellevue, a neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee. The school was founded in 1971 as white families sought to avoid having their children bussed across the city with black children during the court ordered desegregation of Nashville public schools.

Tennessee State Prison is a former correctional facility located six miles west of downtown Nashville, Tennessee on Cockrill Bend. It opened in 1898 and has been closed since 1992 because of overcrowding concerns. The mothballed facility was severely damaged by an EF3 tornado in the tornado outbreak of March 2–3, 2020.
