St Joseph's Church, Stockport

St Peter's Church is the second oldest parish church in the town of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. The church stands in St Peter's Square (grid reference SJ894904) and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield and the deanery of Stockport. Its benefice was combined with that of St Thomas, Stockport until 30 April 2012.

The Queen's Head (included within the Grade II listing for 10–12 Little Underbank and occupying No. 12) is a former public house in the Underbank area of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. The building dates from the late 18th or early 19th century and has been altered several times, including the relocation of the pub to No. 12 in the 1860s and internal remodelling around 1930 and in 1990. It closed in 2023 as Samuel Smith's was seeking a new tenant, and as of June 2026 no update on its future has been published.

The White Lion (officially listed as the White Lion Hotel) is a Grade II listed public house on Great Underbank in the Underbank area of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. The site has been occupied by a licensed inn since 1490, and successive buildings were altered and rebuilt. The present structure was built in 1904 for Chesters Brewery to designs by James Barritt Broadbent and opened the following year. Closed in 2009, it was acquired by Stockport Council in 2015, with the upper floors converted into apartments in 2020 and the pub reopening in 2024 after extensive renovation.

The Plaza is a Grade II* listed art deco single-screen cinema and theatre in Mersey Square, Stockport, England. It opened in 1932, its construction having involved the excavation of the sandstone cliff behind it. After an initial closure in 1966 and a subsequent period in use as a bingo hall by Rank Leiure, it has now been restored as a cinema and theatre, showing films and staging live shows.

The Stockport Sunday School is a Sunday school in Stockport, Cheshire, England. Founded in 1784, it had become the largest Sunday school in the world by 1859. The original school was situated on London Square, Wellington Street, Stockport, behind the town hall. Before the days of universal education, children would be employed in the cotton and hatting industry from a very early age, Sunday Schools provided the one source of Education available before the passing of the Elementary Education Act 1870. The school still exists today on Nangreave Rd in Heaviley, though it is far reduced in size.

The Bull's Head is a Grade II listed former public house on Market Place in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. Although the present building dates from the mid‑19th century, a pub of the same name stood on the site from at least the early 18th century and was a venue for political gatherings in the early 19th century. It was acquired by Robinsons Brewery in 1917. The building has been closed since 2011, and a refurbishment announced in 2020 has not been followed by any further updates as of May 2026.

The Angel Inn is a Grade II listed public house on Market Place in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. The pub now occupies the ground floors of Nos. 20 and 21, while the listing covers the whole of Nos. 20–22 and is recorded under the name Former Angel Inn. Probably built in the 16th century, it began as a house and later an inn, was subsequently converted to shops, and returned to pub use in 2018.

Underbank Hall (officially listed as 10 Great Underbank) is a Grade II* listed historic town house in the Underbank area of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. Although Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council attributes the building to the 15th century, Historic England assigns it to the 16th century. The hall was later associated with the Arden family of Bredbury and has been used as a bank since the early 19th century.

The Bakers Vaults is a Grade II listed public house on Market Place in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. Built in the late 19th century, it stands on the site of the former George and Dragon inn, which dated from around 1775 and occupied the surviving foundations of Stockport Castle. The pub became part of the Robinsons Brewery estate in 1929 and underwent a major refurbishment in 2014.

The King's Arms is a Grade II listed former public house on Bridge Street Brow in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. Built in the early to mid-19th century, it is thought to have replaced an earlier inn called The Greyhound. It was known locally as The Hole in the Wall in the 1840s. After later use as a wine bar and a furniture shop, the building is unoccupied as of June 2026.

The Boar's Head (officially listed as the Boars Head Hotel) is a Grade II listed former public house on the corner of Vernon Street and Market Place in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. Built in the early 19th century, it received a new frontage to Market Place later in the century. The pub, owned by Samuel Smith's, closed in November 2024 while the freehold owner sought a new tenant, and as of May 2026 no update on its future has been published.
