Ampere Way tram stop

Valley Retail and Leisure Park is a retail park in the Purley Way retail and industrial area in Croydon, England. It is located near the Broad Green and Waddon areas of the London Borough of Croydon. Valley Park was opened in 1992 on the site of the former Croydon power stations, the first of which was built in the late nineteenth century. Croydon B power station was closed in 1984 and the majority of the site cleared in 1991. However the local council ordered the station's landmark chimneys be retained, which almost put IKEA off the site, but a compromise was made that IKEA could paint the top skirt of the tower in their colours (blue and yellow).

Purley Way is a section of the A23 trunk road in the London Borough of Croydon, in the areas of Purley, Waddon and Broad Green, and has given its name to the out-of-town shopping area alongside it with a catchment area covering most of South London. It was designed as a bypass for Croydon, and opened in April 1925. It was formed from improvements to pre existing local roads: from north to south, Waddon Marsh Lane, Waddon Court Road and Coldharbour Lane. (Thornton Road, the northern section of the bypass, was not renamed.) In 1932, Purley Way became the first road in the United Kingdom to be lit with sodium lights.

The Croydon power stations refers to a pair of demolished coal-fired power stations and to a gas-fired power station in the Purley Way area of Croydon, London. The coal-fired stations operated from 1896 until 1984, and the gas-fired station opened in 2005. Croydon B power station's chimneys have been retained as a local landmark.

West Thornton Primary School is a primary school with academy status for pupils aged between 4 and 11 years. The school is located on Rosecourt Road, near Purley Way and off the Lombard roundabout in the London Borough of Croydon. The school caters for pupils from Reception to Year 6. The school is close to the border of Croydon and the London Borough of Merton. It is also close to Croydon Cemetery. The school was founded in 1896 as the Boston Road Schools (Infants, Junior Girls, Junior Boys). There are currently 615 pupils who attend the school. An Ofsted report, released in November 2007, stated that "West Thornton Primary is a good and improving school with a number of outstanding features." and that "The driving force behind the school's success is the headteacher who provides inspirational leadership and has a very clear vision of what primary school education should be." The overall grade was 2 with a few areas rated as Outstanding (1)

Waddon Marsh railway station was in Waddon in the London Borough of Croydon on the West Croydon to Wimbledon Line. It was between West Croydon and Beddington Lane Halt stations. There was pedestrian access by footpath only from Miller Road a side street near Purley Way.

Therapia Lane tram stop is a stop on the Tramlink service in Croydon, close to the Purley Way commercial area. The stop is in the London Borough of Sutton close to the boundary with Croydon. It is one of two Tramlink stops within Sutton borough, the other being Beddington Lane. Just to the west of the stop is Therapia Lane Depot Staff Halt, a two platform stop used only by staff getting to or from Therapia Lane depot, and not permitted for public use. However, since 21 March 2020, the stop has been out of use due to its narrow, short platforms preventing social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff halt's future is uncertain given it is less than 80m from the public stop.

Waddon Marsh tram stop is a stop on the Tramlink service serving the area between Waddon and Croydon in the London Borough of Croydon. It is close to the commercial areas of the Purley Way. The stop is overshadowed by the giant gasometer of Croydon Gas Works. There was previously a railway station about 100 metres north of this site called Waddon Marsh, though all that remains of the previous station is an access path still lined with streetlamps painted BR red.

Mitcham Road Cemetery, previously called Croydon Cemetery, is a cemetery located next to Mitcham Common near Croydon, which is part of the London Borough of Croydon, London. Croydon Crematorium is located inside the cemetery, and are both managed by Croydon Cemeteries and Crematoriums. The cemetery is much larger than other ones in London. There is also a chapel located inside the cemetery.

West Thornton is a ward in the London Borough of Croydon, covering part of the Thornton Heath area. The first election held under the new ward boundaries was the 2018 Croydon Council election.

Waddon is a ward in the London Borough of Croydon. covering most of the Waddon area and parts of South Croydon, Haling Park and Old Town. The new ward gained territory from Broad Green, and lost some residences to South Croydon and Purley Oaks and Riddlesdown wards as a result of the review. The first election since the boundary changes was on 3 May 2018 as part of the 2018 local elections.. The Labour councillors held all 3 seats.

Broad Green is a ward in the London Borough of Croydon, London in the United Kingdom, covering the West Croydon area. Broad Green locality is divided between this ward and Selhurst ward. The ward extends from central Croydon to the south to the boundary with the London Boroughs of Sutton and Merton by Mitcham Common. It includes part of the retail core of Croydon and the northern part of the Purley Way retail area. The ward returns three councillors every four years. At the 2006 election, Stuart Collins, Mike Selva, and Manju Shahul-Hameed were elected, as Labour Party candidates. The population of the Ward at the 2011 Census was 18,652.The ward is in Croydon North constituency, with Steve Reed as Member of Parliament. The ward became smaller in 2018, following boundary changes in Croydon.

The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy is a coeducational secondary school located in the Thornton Heath area of Croydon, South London, named after Lanfranc, Archbishop of Canterbury from 1070 to 1089.
