Whetstone High School is a public high school located at 4405 Scenic Drive in Columbus, Ohio. It is a part of Columbus City Schools and the neighborhood of Clintonville. Whetstone's mascot is the Brave. The school opened in 1961 to accommodate the overflow from North High School. The expanding student base brought on by growth in north Columbus created the need for an additional school.

Centennial High School is a public high school located on the northwest side of Columbus, Ohio, in the United States. It is a part of Columbus City Schools. The school opened in 1976, initially only housing new students in 10th grade. The smaller start allowed the school to get set up properly, and was designed as such so it wouldn't cause inconvenience to upperclassmen who were attending other high schools but lived in Centennial's newly formed attendance area.

The Weisheimer House is a historic house in the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was built in the 1890s for Jacob Weisheimer, a German immigrant who operated a mill nearby. The house has stayed a single family residence since then, with Robert W. Teater, a former Ohio Department of Natural Resources director, as the primary owner from 1965 to 2007. The house was listed on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1982.

Camp Thomas was a United States Regular Army training facility located in North Columbus, Ohio (now Columbus), during the American Civil War. It was primarily used to organize and train new infantry regiments for service in the Western Theater.

The Ohio State University Golf Club is located at 3605 Tremont Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus. It was founded by L.W. St. John, (Ohio State University Athletic Director, 1912–1947). The golf club has two classical golf courses called Scarlet and Gray. The Scarlet was completed in 1938 and the Gray was finished later in 1940. The dedication ceremony was held on May 18, 1940, when Bob Kepler (golf coach from 1938 to 1965), Chick Evans, Blanche Sohl, and Patty Berg played 18 holes on the Scarlet course. Both the Scarlet and the much shorter Gray golf courses were designed by Dr. Alister MacKenzie, a world-renowned golf course architect. The Scarlet course is rated as one of the top collegiate courses in the nation. In 2005 and 2006 the Scarlet Course underwent a major restoration project overseen by former Buckeye legend Jack Nicklaus that was intended to restore play on the Scarlet course to the way that MacKenzie had envisioned it. In 1941, Ohio State made history when it hosted the first ever women's collegiate golf championship on the Scarlet course. In 1982, Ohio State hosted the final Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) Division I National Championship. In 1991, Ohio State hosted the NCAA Women's Championship, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the national tournament for women on the course on which it was conceived. The women's program later went on to host the 1997 and 2006 tournaments as well. The Scarlet Course has also played host to 10 men's National Championships. Over the years the Ohio State Scarlet course has been the site of several U.S. Open qualifiers, U.S. Amateur qualifiers and the 1977 USGA Junior Championship.

The Columbus Park of Roses, also known as the Whetstone Park of Roses, is a public park and rose garden in Columbus, Ohio. The 13-acre (5.3 ha) park is located within the city's larger Whetstone Park in the Clintonville neighborhood. The free public park is operated by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. The Park of Roses was established in 1952, following ideas for a city hall rose garden in 1946. The park was landscaped and planted in 1952 and 1953, opening in June 1953. The American Rose Society held its headquarters at the park beginning in 1952. The Park of Roses gradually expanded over the following decades, including opening its Heritage Garden in 1985.

The Old Beechwold Historic District is a neighborhood and historic district in Clintonville, Columbus, Ohio. The site was listed on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1985 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The district is significant for its architecture, landscape architecture, and community planning. The houses are of the early 20th century, using stone, brick, and stucco.The land was originally part of a large tract owned by a single family, but in 1902, 75 of those acres were sold to the Columbus Zoological Company. The company established one of the first zoos in Columbus, known as "The Zoo", that failed after only five months, opening in May and closing in November of 1905. In 1906, Joseph A. Jeffrey acquired the land, and created a suburban estate named "Beechwalde". He built the two oldest houses in the district. The former monkey house can still be seen on the property of 150 West Beechwold Boulevard where it is used as a barn. The zoo's original brick entrance can also be seen on North High Street at Beechwold Road.

Cranbrook Elementary School is a public elementary school in the Northwest Columbus area in Ohio, USA. It is rated "Excellent" by the Ohio Department of Education and was honored by the Blue Ribbon Schools Program in 2003. Cranbrook serves students in grades Kindergarten through 5 as well as early childhood education.

Clintonville is a neighborhood in north-central Columbus, Ohio, United States with around 30,000 residents. Its borders, associated with the Clintonville Area Commission, are the Olentangy River on the west, Glen Echo Creek to the south, a set of railroad tracks to the east, and on the north by the Worthington city limits.As the cachet of the Clintonville neighborhood grew towards the turn of the 21st century, real estate agents began to label homes north of Cooke Road as Clintonville or Clintonville or Beechwold thus leading to the apparent absorption of Beechwold and nearby Columbus subdivisions south of Worthington. The area also contains the former unincorporated community of Evanston, a name that was used by the Big Four Railroad as a station along its line and U.S. Postal service until the 1920s. Clintonville includes parts of ZIP codes 43202 and 43214. The United States Post Offices at the center of each ZIP code are known as Clintonville Station and Beechwold Station, respectively.
