Greatham is a village and civil parish in the borough of Hartlepool, County Durham, England. The population of the civil parish (including Newton Bewley) was taken in the 2011 census was 2,132. Greatham village is located approximately three miles south of Hartlepool town centre.

Greatham railway station served the village of Greatham in the Borough of Hartlepool, North East England, from 1841 to 1991 on what became the Durham Coast Line.

Faith Wood is a woodland in County Durham, England, near the village of Cowpen Bewley. It covers a total area of 10.06 hectares (24.86 acres). It is owned and managed by the Woodland Trust.

The Teesside Refinery was an oil refinery and chemical plant situated just south of Seaton Carew on the River Tees in County Durham. In 2000, it was bought by Petroplus from ICI and Phillips Petroleum Company. Refining was suspended in 2009, although the site continues to operate as a terminal and storage facility.

Claxton is a civil parish in County Durham, England. It is located to the south west of Hartlepool, and mostly separated from the neighbouring parish of Greatham by the A689 road. It had a population of 25 at the 2001 Census.

Cowpen Marsh (grid reference NZ500529) is a 116.8 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in County Durham, England, notified in 1966. SSSIs are designated by Natural England, formally English Nature, which uses the 1974–1996 county system. This means there is no grouping of SSSIs by Stockton-on-Tees unitary authority, or County Durham which is the relevant ceremonial county . As such Cowpen Marsh is one of 18 SSSIs in the Cleveland area of search.

Rift House is an area of south-west Hartlepool in the borough of Hartlepool, County Durham, England. It has a secondary school with a sixth-form college and two primary schools; English Martyrs, Kingsley and Rift House. It was a ward of the town for the 2011 UK Census, for the 2015 UK general election it was split between two wards Manor House (with Owton) and Foggy Furze.

The Hartlepools was a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. The constituency became Hartlepool in 1974. The seat's name reflected the representation of both old Hartlepool and West Hartlepool.

Hartlepool is a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament by Jill Mortimer of the Conservative Party from 2021. The constituency covers the town of Hartlepool plus nearby settlements. Labour won every contest for the seat since the first at the February 1974 election (and mostly won the predecessor constituency of The Hartlepools from the 1945 election onward) until Mortimer won the 2021 by-election, becoming the first Conservative MP to represent Hartlepool since 1959.
