Schönewalde is a town in the Elbe-Elster district, in southwestern Brandenburg, Germany. It is situated 30 km south of Luckenwalde, and 40 km east of Wittenberg.

Holzdorf is a village in the municipality of Jessen (Elster) in the district of Wittenberg in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. It has 1,155 inhabitants (2021). Previously a separate municipality in the district of Kremitz, it became part of the amalgamated municipality of Jessen on 1 March 2004.Holzdorf, with various shops and doctors' offices, is a regional center for the surrounding villages. In addition to farming, the nearby Schönewalde/Holzdorf Air Base with about 400 staff, is the main source of income of the residents. The air base itself is within the city Schönewalde in Brandenburg.

The Deutschlandsender III was a 500 kilowatt longwave transmitter, erected in 1938/39 near Herzberg, Brandenburg in Germany. Used for the Deutschlandsender radio broadcasts, the guyed mast reaching a height of 337 metres (1,106 feet) was the tallest construction in Europe and the second tallest in the world.

Schloss Wiepersdorf is a Schloss in Niederer Fläming,Brandenburg, Germany. It is known for being the home of the famous von Arnim family, in whose ownership the schloss remained from 1780 until 1945. After this, the house became the Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf, a literary institute. Scholars and writers receive grants to stay in the house and complete their work amongst other scholars and writers. The institute offers book readings, exhibitions, concerts, and other events, for the General public. It also houses a museum, commemorating the Von Arnims, and their role in Germany's literary history.

Niederer Fläming is a municipality in the Teltow-Fläming district of Brandenburg, Germany.

Reinsdorf Airfield is a civilian airfield located in Reinsdorf (Teltow-Fläming), approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south-east of Jüterbog in Brandenburg, Germany. The airport is mostly used by the civil aviation, including single engine aircraft up to 5 tons, ultralight aircraft, gliders and motorgliders. Over half of the flights are performed by gliders. In the northern part of the airfield, gliders can perform high altitude winch launches with 2,600 cable, which makes this airfield almost unique in the world (together with the Rothenburg/Görlitz Airfield).

Elbe-Elster Land (German: Elbe-Elster-Land), also called the Elbe-Elster region (Elbe-Elster-Gebiet) is a region around the tripoint of the German states of Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt and Saxony. It is part of the North German Plain and is named after the two major rivers that have their confluence here: the Elbe and the Black Elster. In older sources the northwestern parts of the present-day Elbe-Elster Land were called Mezumroka or "land between the rivers". It was part of the Gau Nizizi and almost unpopulated. The region is first recorded as the "land between the Elbe and Elster" on 14 April 1312, when Frederick the Brave promised 32,000 marks in silver "to be paid within three days" to Margrave Waldemar of Brandenburg as part of the Treaty of Tangermünde following his capture near Hayn. He also promised to cede the "land between the Elbe and Elster", the March of Lusatia and the towns of Hayn and Torgau to Brandenburg.The "land between the Elbe and Elster" was then understood to be a region that covered what later became the Electoral Saxon Ämter or districts of Mühlberg, Liebenwerda, Schweinitz and Lochau.Today the territory of the county of Elbe-Elster which was created in 1993 is marketed and advertised for tourist purposes as the holiday region of Elbe-Elster-Land, but it also includes the western parts of Lower Lusatia around Finsterwalde and the Schraden region.

Annaburg-Prettin was a Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("administrative community") in the district of Wittenberg, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It was situated on the right bank of the Elbe, southeast of Wittenberg. The seat of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was in Annaburg. It was disbanded in January 2011.
