Del Amo station

Compton Creek is a major tributary of the Los Angeles River in and surrounding Compton in Los Angeles County, California. The stream drains a watershed of 42.1 square miles (109 km2). and is the last major tributary to enter the Los Angeles River before it reaches the Pacific Ocean. The stream begins just east of South Main Street between 107th and 108th Streets in Los Angeles. Compton Creek passes through Willowbrook and runs 8.5 miles (13.7 km) in total. Most of its route is encased in a concrete flood control channel. Shortly after it passes under West Greenleaf Boulevard, it changes to an earth-bottom section with riprap banks. Joined near its end by East Compton Creek, the creek ultimately empties into the Los Angeles River just south of Del Amo Boulevard.

Rancho Dominguez is an unincorporated community in Los Angeles County, California, United States. Rancho Dominguez is located between the cities of Compton, Long Beach and Carson. The communities of unincorporated Rancho Dominguez are: Rancho Dominguez, East Rancho Dominguez, and West Rancho Dominguez. Prior to earlier partitioning, Rancho Dominguez also contained the sites of the cities of Compton, Carson and a portion of North Long Beach.

Rancho Dominguez Preparatory School (RDPS) is a public middle and high school in Long Beach, California in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, California, United States. It is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. It was previously named South Region High School #4.As of 2012 most of the students reside in the Wilmington area of Los Angeles and the City of Carson.

The Dominguez Rancho Adobe is California Historical Landmark Number 152, and in 1976 was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior. The adobe of Manuel Dominguez, on the Spanish land grant of Rancho San Pedro (re-validated under Mexican rule), was completed in 1826. The home features 2-foot-thick (0.61 m) walls, heavy timbers and a flat, tarred roof. Much of the furniture is original to the Dominguez family.The Friends of Rancho San Pedro operate the adobe ranch home as the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum. The Friends provide guided tours of the house, as well as host many educational programs about ranch life and early California history. The Battle of Dominguez Rancho or The Battle of the Old Woman's Gun or The Battle of Dominguez Hills took place on October 8th and October 9th, 1846, was a military engagement of the Mexican–American War that took place within Manuel Dominguez's 75,000 acre Rancho San Pedro. Captain José Antonio Carrillo, leading fifty California troops, successfully held off an invasion of Pueblo de Los Angeles by some 300 United States Marines, capturing for the first time in the few instances of U.S. history the U.S. Colors upon the battlefield, while under the command of US Navy Captain William Mervine, who was attempting to recapture the town after the Siege of Los Angeles. By strategically running horses across the dusty Dominguez Hills, while transporting their single small cannon to various sites, Carrillo and his troops convinced the Americans they had encountered a large enemy force. Faced with heavy casualties and the superior fighting skills displayed by the Californios, the remaining Marines were forced to retreat to their ships docked in San Pedro Bay.

Los Cerritos Ranch House, also known as Rancho Los Cerritos or Casa de los Cerritos, in Long Beach, California, was "the largest and most impressive adobe residence erected in southern California during the Mexican period". Los Cerritos means "the little hills" in English. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970.

Leonie Pray House, also known as "Dawson-Pray House," is a Long Beach Historic Landmark located in the Los Cerritos neighborhood of Long Beach, California. It is a 6,500-square-foot (600 m2) English Tudor Revival mansion designed by architect Clarence Aldrich. It has been used as a filming location for films and television series, including Donnie Darko, Not Another Teen Movie, Weird Science, and Beverly Hills, 90210.

Addams is a neighborhood in Long Beach, California. It lies within the North Long Beach area. The neighborhood is named for the activist Jane Addams, and is home to the Jane Addams Neighborhood Association.Grace Park is named to honor the nationally recognized herpetologist Grace Olive Wiley, who lived in the district.

Los Cerritos (sometimes called Los Cerritos/Virginia Country Club) is a neighborhood with approximately 700 homes and 2,000 residents located within the Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach, California. Established in 1906, the Los Cerritos neighborhood has been used by the film industry of Hollywood with its historic, estate-sized homes. It was one of three finalists in the 2007 Neighborhood of the Year national competition.

The Dominguez Hills are a low mountain range in the Transverse Ranges, in southern Los Angeles County, California. They are named for the locally prominent Californio family of Manuel Dominguez, which owned Rancho San Pedro. They are between the Baldwin Hills and Palos Verdes Peninsula.

Compton College is a public community college in Compton, California. From 2006, when it lost its regional accreditation, to 2017, when it regained that accreditation, it operated as a part of El Camino College. Before and after the partnership with El Camino College, the college was operated by the Compton Community College District.

Artesia Station is an at-grade light rail station on the A Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. The station is located alongside the Union Pacific freight railroad's Wilmington Subdivision (the historic route of the Pacific Electric Railway), at its intersection with Artesia Boulevard, after which the station is named, in the city of Compton, California.Artesia is a park and ride station with 380 parking spaces. The station is near the southern border of Compton, California near the unincorporated community of Rancho Dominguez. It is on Artesia Boulevard near the intersection of Alameda Street. It is also close to the Artesia Freeway (SR 91). A June 7, 2012, editorial in the Los Angeles Times described the station as,"extremely unfriendly to pedestrians" and,"a Third World train station."
