San Michele Arcangelo ai Corridori di Borgo was a church in Rome dedicated to St. Michael, the Archangel, important for historical and artistic reasons. The church, traditionally linked to the legend of the appearance of St. Michael above Castel Sant'Angelo and seat of the confraternity of the same name, was founded in the Middle Ages and rebuilt in 1564. The 16th century church, a small hall building, was the work of the Florentine mannerist architect Tiberio Calcagni, and had a side chapel on the left side of the first bay. The building was decorated with frescoes and paintings from the mannerist period, and housed a fresco from the 15th century, the Nursing Madonna, attributed to Antoniazzo Romano, accidentally found in 1825 in the courtyard wall. The church was demolished in 1939 to allow for the enlargement of two roads: Borgo Sant'Angelo and Via della Traspontina, as part of a project to open Via della Conciliazione. After its demolition in 1939 the most important works of art were transferred to the reconstructed oratory of the Nunziatina on the Lungotevere Vaticano.

The Church of Santa Maria del Carmelo in Traspontina (Saint Mary of Carmel Across the Bridge) is a Roman Catholic titular church in Rome, run by the Carmelites. The bridge referred to is the Ponte Sant'Angelo. The church is on the Via della Conciliazione, the primary road of the Roman Rione of Borgo. Pope Sixtus V designated the church as a cardinalitial titulus on 13 April 1587. The current cardinal of Santa Maria in Traspontina is the former Archbishop of Quebec, Marc Ouellet, and is the Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops of the Roman Curia. He was Cardinal Priest from 2003 to 2018, and continued there when co-opted to suburbicarian rank. It is the national church for Danish Catholics.

The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the Holy See (Chinese: 中華民國駐教廷大使館) is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of China (as known as Taiwan) accredited to the Holy See, one of its few de jure embassies in the world, and the only one remaining in Europe. It also has responsibility for relations with the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.Its counterpart in the Republic of China is the Apostolic Nunciature to China in Taipei.It is separate from the Taipei Representative Office in Italy in Rome, which functions as a de facto embassy in Italy.

Borgo Nuovo, originally known as via Alessandrina, also named via Recta or via Pontificum, was a road in the city of Rome, Italy, important for historical and architectural reasons. Built by Pope Alexander VI Borgia (r. 1492–1503) for the holy year of 1500, the road became one of the main centers of the high Renaissance in Rome. Borgo Nuovo was demolished together with the surrounding quarter in 1936–37 due to the construction of Via della Conciliazione.

Auditorium della Conciliazione, also known as Auditorio Pio, is an audience hall and concert hall on the Via della Conciliazione in the Borgo district of Rome. Conceived in the 1930s as part of a vast Mussolini-ordered redevelopment of the district, it was not completed until 1950 after post-World War II work by architects Marcello Piacentini and Giorgio Calza Bini. Surrounding it are wings of the large Palazzo San Pio X, a broadcasting facility also part of the 1930s conception. Both buildings open onto the long perspective from St. Peter's Basilica to the Ponte Sant'Angelo created by the redevelopment. The venue's role as a pontifical audience hall began when it was inaugurated by Pope Pius XII. But in 1971 it was replaced in this role by the new Paolo VI Audience Hall. As a concert hall it served from 1958 to 2000 as the performing home of Rome's main symphony orchestra, the Orchestra dell' Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and in February 2001 it hosted a unique week-long filmed residency by the Berlin Philharmonic and Claudio Abbado. When the Santa Cecilia orchestra too moved away, the building underwent a lengthy refurbishment before reopening on April 29, 2005, with the ceremony of the David de Donatello Awards presented by l'Accademia del Cinema Italiano.

Via della Conciliazione (Road of the Conciliation) is a street in the Rione of Borgo within Rome, Italy. Roughly 500 metres (1,600 ft) in length, it connects Saint Peter's Square to the Castel Sant'Angelo on the western bank of the Tiber River. The road was constructed between 1936 and 1950, and it is the primary access route to the Square. In addition to shops, it is bordered by a number of historical and religious buildings – including the Palazzo Torlonia, the Palazzo dei Penitenzieri and the Palazzo dei Convertendi, and the churches of Santa Maria in Traspontina and Santo Spirito in Sassia. Despite being one of the few major thoroughfares in Rome able to cope with a high volume of traffic without congestion, it is the subject of much ire both within the Roman community and among historical scholars due to the circumstances under which it was constructed. The area around the church was rebuilt several times following the various Sacks of Rome, and again after having deteriorated due to the loss of prosperity resulting from the Papacy's relocation to Avignon during the 14th century. Through all of these reconstructions, the area in front of the short courtyard of Saint Peter's Basilica remained a maze of densely packed structures overhanging narrow side-streets and alleyways.

The Passetto di Borgo, or simply Passetto, is an elevated passage that links the Vatican City with the Castel Sant'Angelo. It is an approximately 800-metre-long (2,600 ft) corridor, located in the rione of Borgo. It was erected in 1277 by Pope Nicholas III, but parts of the wall were built by Totila during the Gothic War. On at least two occasions it served as an escape route for Popes in danger. Pope Alexander VI crossed it in 1494, when Charles VIII invaded the city and the pope's life was in peril. Clement VII escaped to safety through this passage during the Sack of Rome in 1527, when troops of the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles V, massacred almost the entire Swiss Guard on the steps of St Peter's Basilica.

The Ospedale di San Carlo (lit. 'St. Charles's Hospital') was a building in Rome, important for historical and artistic reasons. Built at the end of the 18th century by the will of Pope Pius VI, the hospital was initially a branch of the nearby Santo Spirito Hospital. Later it was used as a military hospital for the army of the Papal States and, after the capture of Rome in 1870, became the first Italian military hospital in the new capital. It was demolished in 1939 for the construction of the Via della Conciliazione.

Borgo Santo Spirito is a street in Rome, Italy, important for historical and artistic reasons. From a historical point of view, it is considered the most interesting street in the Borgo district. Of medieval origin, it is linked to the foundation of the ancient fortified hospice for pilgrims from England, the Burgus Saxonum. The street houses the oldest Roman hospital, the Arcispedale di Santo Spirito in Saxia, which gave it its name. Heavily altered during the works for the opening of Via della Conciliazione, it nevertheless avoided the fate of the two parallel streets of Borgo Nuovo and Borgo Vecchio, both destroyed.

San Giacomo Scossacavalli (San Giacomo a Scossacavalli) was a church in Rome important for historical and artistic reasons. The church, facing the Piazza Scossacavalli, was built during the early Middle Ages and since the early 16th century hosted a confraternity which commissioned Renaissance architect Antonio da Sangallo the Younger to build a new shrine. This was richly decorated with frescoes, painted (among others) by mannerist artist Giovanni Battista Ricci and his students. The church was demolished in 1937, when Via della Conciliazione (the avenue leading to St. Peter's Basilica) was built and the piazza and central part of the Borgo rione were demolished. Many decorative elements still exist, since they were preserved from demolition.

Santa Maria Annunziata in Borgo, popularly known as Nunziatina (or Annunziatina), is an oratory of Rome (Italy), in the rione Borgo, facing on Lungotevere Vaticano.

The Hospital of the Holy Spirit (Italian: L'Ospedale di Santo Spirito in Sassia) is the oldest hospital in Europe, located in Rome, Italy. It now serves as a convention center. The complex lies in rione Borgo, east of Vatican City and next to the modern Ospedale di Santo Spirito (which continues its tradition). The hospital was established on the site of the former Schola Saxonum, a part of the complex houses of the Museo Storico.
