The Basilica of Saint Sabina (Latin: Basilica Sanctae Sabinae, Italian: Basilica di Santa Sabina all'Aventino) is a historic church on the Aventine Hill in Rome, Italy. It is a titular minor basilica and mother church of the Roman Catholic Order of Preachers, better known as the Dominicans. Santa Sabina is the oldest extant ecclesiastical basilica in Rome that preserves its original colonnaded rectangular plan with apse and architectural style. Its decorations have been restored to their original restrained design. Other basilicas, such as Santa Maria Maggiore, have been ornately decorated in later centuries. Because of its simplicity, the Santa Sabina represents the adaptation of the architecture of the roofed Roman forum or basilica to the basilica churches of Christendom. It is especially famous for its 5th-century carved wood doors, with a cycle of Christian scenes, that is one of the earliest to survive. Santa Sabina is perched high above the Tiber to the north and the Circus Maximus to the east. It is next to the small public park of Giardino degli Aranci ("Garden of Oranges"), which has a scenic terrace overlooking Rome. It is a short distance from the headquarters of the Knights of Malta. Its cardinal priest is Jozef Tomko. It is the stational church for Ash Wednesday.

The Arch of Lentulus and Crispinus (Latin: Arcus Lentuli et Crispini) was a triumphal arch in Rome, sited between the Porta Trigemina of the Servian Wall and the statio Annonae, to the south of the Forum Boarium, near the carceres of the Circus Maximus. It was built by the consulares Titus Quinctius Crispinus Sulpicianus and Lucius Cornelius Lentulus in the 2nd century AD. It was probably built as part of the renovation project launched by Augustus, as also seen in the arch of Dolabella and Silanus. It seems that this vault served as an arcade to the Aqua Appia or to the Aqua Marcia and that it was destroyed around the mid 15th century.

The Porta Trigemina was one of the main gates in the ancient 4th century Servian Wall of Rome, Italy. The gate no longer exists, but it is frequently mentioned by ancient authors as standing between the north end of the Aventine Hill and the Tiber River, placing it near the southeastern end of the Forum Boarium. The Clivus Publicius descended from the Aventine to the Porta Trigemina.It is presumed that its name (which means "triple uniting") refers to its triple gateway to accommodate heavy traffic that passed into the city from the Via Ostiensis. It was known for the crowd of beggars that were found just outside the gate.

The Basilica dei Santi Bonifacio e(d) Alessio is a basilica, rectory church served by the Somaschans, and titular church for a cardinal-priest on the Aventine Hill in the third prefecture of central Rome, Italy. It is dedicated to Saint Boniface of Tarsus and (originally only) Saint Alexius. It lies on Piazza Sant’Alessio 23, near the historical gardens of St. Alexius and Via di santa Sabina.

The Anselmianum, also known as the Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm (Italian: Pontificio Ateneo Sant'Anselmo; Latin: Pontificium Athenaeum Anselmianum) is a pontifical university in Rome associated with the Benedictines. It offers courses in philosophy, theology, liturgy, monastic studies, languages, sacramental theology, and the history of theology.

The Accademia nazionale di danza (National Dance Academy) was established in 1940 in Italy and aims to promote the art and technique of dance. The National Dance Academy is the only university-level institute in Italy dedicated exclusively to the training of dancers, teachers, and choreographers, awarding academy diplomas equivalent to laurea (bachelor's degree) and laurea magistrale (master's degree).

Rome Rose Garden is a public garden in Rome, Italy, located opposite the Circus Maximus on the Aventine Hill. The park was established in 1931. Over 1100 varieties of roses are grown there, many of them gifts from countries around the world. The Rome Rose Garden covers 10,000 m square and each section has rose varieties characteristic of, or grown in, the respective variety. The park also has an experimental section where new varieties of roses are tested for their suitability for public and private gardens in Italy.

The Basilica of Saint Mary in Cosmedin (Italian: Basilica di Santa Maria in Cosmedin or de Schola Graeca) is a minor basilica church in Rome, Italy. It is located in the rione of Ripa.

The Mouth of Truth (Italian: Bocca della Verità [ˈbokka della veriˈta]) is a marble mask in Rome, Italy, which stands against the left wall of the portico of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin church, at the Piazza della Bocca della Verità, the site of the ancient Forum Boarium (the ancient cattle market). According to enduring medieval legend, it will bite off the hand of any liar who places their hand in its mouth, or, alternatively, any who utters a lie while their hand is in the mouth. It still attracts many visitors who audaciously insert their hands. The massive marble mask weighs about 1300 kg (2800 lbs) and probably depicts the face of the sea titan god Oceanus. The eyes, nostrils and mouth are open. Historians aren't quite certain what the original purpose of the disc was. It was possibly used as a drain cover in the nearby Temple of Hercules Victor, which had an oculus—a round open space in the middle of the roof, similar to that of the Pantheon. Hence, it could rain inside. It is also thought that cattle merchants used it to drain the blood of cattle sacrificed to the god Hercules. In the thirteenth century the disc was probably removed from the temple and placed against the wall of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin. In the seventeenth century it eventually moved to its current location inside the portico of the church.

Villa del Priorato di Malta or Magistral Villa, located on the Aventine Hill in Rome, is one of the two institutional seats of the government of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Along with Magistral Palace, the estate is granted extraterritorial status by Italy. It also hosts the Grand Priory of Rome and the embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Italy.

The Temple of Minerva was a temple on the summit of the Aventine Hill in Rome, next to the Temple of Diana. It is now completely disappeared, but the Forma Urbis Romae confirms its appearance as a peripteral hexastyle on a different orientation to the Temple of Diana. The date and founder of the temple is unknown, but it is known to have existed in the 3rd century BC. It was the centre of the craft guilds in general and, by the end of the 3rd century BC, the writers' and actors' guilds in particular. In 123 BC Gaius Gracchus and his supporters tried in vain to seek refuge in the temple during their flight from Rome. The sanctuary was repaired by Emperor Augustus. The building still existed in the 4th-century, when it is mentioned in the Forma Urbis Romae. If still in use by the 4th-century, it would have been closed during the persecution of pagans in the late Roman Empire.

The Embassy of Poland in Rome (Polish: Ambasada Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej w Rzymie; Italian: Ambasciata della Repubblica di Polonia in Italia) is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Poland to the Italian Republic. The chancery is located at Via P.P.Rubens 20, Rome. The Polish Embassy in Rome is located in a period building situated behind a protective wall just off Via P.P.Rubens. The embassy is protected by the Italian state police and the Carabinieri. It is open to both Polish citizens and citizens of the European Union for representation, protection and legal concerns, however it only deals with passport and consular business for Polish citizens and visa applicants (of all nations). Since 2019 the ambassador of the Polish Republic to the Italian Republic is Anna Maria Anders. The Polish ambassador to Italy is also accredited to the Republic of San Marino.
