Don Mueang International Airport (Thai: ท่าอากาศยานดอนเมือง, RTGS: Tha-akatsayan Don Mueang, pronounced [tʰâː.ʔāː.kàːt.sā.jāːn dɔ̄ːn mɯ̄a̯ŋ] (listen), or colloquially as สนามบินดอนเมือง, pronounced [sā.nǎːm.bīn dɔ̄ːn mɯ̄a̯ŋ]) (IATA: DMK, ICAO: VTBD) is one of two international airports serving the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, the other one being Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). Before Suvarnabhumi opened in 2006, Don Mueang was previously known as Bangkok International Airport (Thai: ท่าอากาศยานกรุงเทพ, RTGS: Tha-akatsayan Krungthep). The airport is considered to be one of the world's oldest international airports and Asia's oldest operating airport. It was officially opened as a Royal Thai Air Force base on 27 March 1914, although it had been in use earlier. Commercial flights began in 1924, making it one of the world's oldest commercial airports. The airport consists of Terminal 1 for international flights and Terminal 2 for domestic flights which are connected by a unique glass exterior elevated walkway. The airport also featured an exterior walkway connected to the Amari hotel. The first commercial flight was an arrival by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.In September 2006, Don Mueang Airport was closed and replaced by the newly opened Suvarnabhumi Airport, before reopening on 24 March 2007 after renovations. Since the opening of the new airport, it has become a regional commuter flight hub and the de facto low-cost airline hub. In 2015, it became the world's largest low cost carrier airport.Don Mueang previously carried the IATA code BKK, which was subsequently reassigned to Suvarnabhumi, and was an important hub of Asia and the hub of Thai Airways International prior to its closure. At its peak, it served most air traffic for the entire country, with 80 airlines operating 160,000 flights and handling over 38 million passengers and 700,000 tons of cargo in 2004. It was then the 14th busiest airport in the world and 2nd in Asia by passenger volume. Currently, Don Mueang is the main operating base for Nok Air, Thai AirAsia and Thai Lion Air.

On 3 March 2001, Thai Airways International Flight 114 exploded at gate 62 of Don Muang International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, killing one person and injuring seven other people. Five cabin attendants, two baggage loaders, and a load control supervisor were preparing the Boeing 737-400 for a flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai before the passengers were boarded. An explosion during this process started a fire that destroyed the aircraft. Six people on board and one person on the ground were injured while one cabin attendant was killed. The passenger manifest included many government figures, including prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, his son Panthongtae, and 20 other government officials. Initial reports from Thai officials suspected an assassination attempt using a bomb. Despite this, no evidence of an explosive device was found during examinations of the wreckage. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee determined that a flammable fuel-air mixture inside the center fuel tank ignited, likely due to sparks generated from an activated fuel pump with the presence of metal shavings.

Don Mueang Station (Thai: สถานีดอนเมือง, pronounced [sā.thǎː.nīː dɔ̄ːn mɯ̄a̯ŋ]) is a railway station in Bangkok. It is located opposite Don Mueang International Airport. It currently serves the SRT Dark Red Line and long-distance intercity trains on the Northern and Northeastern Line of the State Railway of Thailand. There is a pedestrian bridge directly linking the new station to the airport.

Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital Station (Thai: สถานีโรงพยาบาลภูมิพลอดุลยเดช RTGS: Sathani Rong Phayaban Phumiphon Adunyadet) is a BTS Skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Bangkok, Thailand. It is located in front of Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital. The station is part of the northern extension of the Sukhumvit Line and opened on 16 December 2020, as part of phase 4.

Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital (Thai: โรงพยาบาลภูมิพลอดุลยเดช) is a hospital located in Sai Mai District, Bangkok, Thailand. It is a military hospital operated by the Directorate of Medical Services, The Royal Thai Air Force particularly for personnel of the Royal Thai Air Force, but also for the general public. It is a teaching hospital for Royal Thai Air Force Nursing College, Phramongkutklao College of Medicine as well as some clinical year (year 4-6) students of the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, under the agreement between the Faculty of Medicine and the Directorate of Medical Services.Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital was served by the BTS Sukhumvit Line at Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital BTS Station since 16 December 2020.

Saphan Mai (Thai: สะพานใหม่, pronounced [sā.pʰāːn màj]) is a marketplace and neighbourhood in north Bangkok, chiefly in the Anusawari Subdistrict, Bang Khen District and part of Khlong Thanon Subdistrict, Sai Mai District. The Saphan Mai area covers two sides of Phahonyothin Road for about three kilometres (1.8 mi) from the south, Anusawari Lak Si Circle, to north, Saphan Sukoranakhaseni, a bridge that spans Khlong Song or Khlong Thanon and connects Bang Khen, Sai Mai, and Don Mueang Districts.The name Saphan Mai means 'new bridge'. It is the term used by locals for Saphan ('bridge') Sukoranakhaseni (สะพานสุกรนาคเสนีย์) which replaced the old bridge. The main market in the Saphan Mai area is Talat Saphan Mai (ตลาดสะพานใหม่), also known as Talat Ying Charoen (ตลาดยิ่งเจริญ) a large wet market founded by Suwapee Thammawattana. It opened on 11 August 1955 on a plot of approximately 30 rai (about 11 acres).

Royal Thai Air Force Museum Station (Thai: สถานีพิพิธภัณฑ์กองทัพอากาศ, RTGS: Sathani Phiphitthaphan Kong Thap Akat) is a BTS Skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Bangkok, Thailand. It is located in front of the Royal Thai Air Force Museum. The station is part of the northern extension of the Sukhumvit Line and opened on 16 December 2020, as part of phase 4.In 2021, it was the least used station on the BTS network.

The Royal Thai Air Force Museum is located in Don Mueang District, Bangkok, Thailand. It is located on the Phahonyothin Road just to the south of Wing 6 of the domestic terminal of the Don Mueang Airport. It was served by the Royal Thai Air Force Museum BTS station since 16 December 2020.

It is bounded by (from north clockwise): Mueang Pathum Thani and Lam Luk Ka of Pathum Thani province; Sai Mai, Bang Khen and Lak Si of Bangkok; and Pak Kret of Nonthaburi province. Don Mueang regarded as the uppermost part of Bangkok.

Qantas Flight 1 (QF1, QFA1) was a Qantas passenger flight between Sydney and London that was involved in a runway overrun accident at Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok on 23 September 1999 as it was landing for a stopover.
