Mallett Hall (Pownal Center, Maine)

Bradbury Mountain State Park is a public recreation area in the town of Pownal, Cumberland County, Maine, managed by the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. The state park covers 730 acres (300 ha).

The Pownal Cattle Pound is a historic stone animal pound in Bradbury Mountain State Park, Pownal, Maine. Built in 1818, it is one of a modest number of these once-common structures left in the state. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Pownal is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. Pownal was included in the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine metropolitan New England city and town area. The population was 1,566 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area. Pownal is home to Bradbury Mountain State Park.

The Jacob Randall House is a historic house on Lawrence Road in Pownal, Maine. Built about 1800, it is a fine local example of Federal period architecture executed in brick. It was built for a prominent local citizen. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Desert of Maine is a natural curiosity and privately owned tourist attraction whose main feature is a 40-acre (16 ha) expanse of barren glacial sand in the town of Freeport, Maine, United States. The area was de‑vegetated by poor farming practices in the 19th century.

Maine Coast Waldorf School, for students from early childhood through grade 12, was founded in 1984 as Merriconeag Waldorf School, and changed its name to Maine Coast Waldorf School in 2015. As a Waldorf school, Maine Coast's curricula are based on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner. Initially offering education for students up to grade 8, MCWS began offering high school education in 2009, graduating its first high school class in 2010. The high school received national accreditation in 2012. MCWS is a member of and accredited by New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), and the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN). The high school was temporarily housed on the Pineland campus until the planned high school building was completed in 2017. The building was designed by Portland, Maine architecture firm BRIBURN. It is the first Passive House Certified high school in the North America and the first high school globally certified through PHIUS. The building is also certified as compliant with the Maine Advanced Buildings administered by Efficiency Maine. Additionally, roof mounted Photovoltaics are sized such that building may operate as a Zero-energy building – that is, creating as much energy as it consumes.

North Yarmouth, officially the Town of North Yarmouth, is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. North Yarmouth is included in the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine metropolitan New England city and town area. The population was 4,072 at the 2020 United States Census. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The West Durham Methodist Church is an historic Methodist church at 23 Runaround Pond Road in West Durham, Maine. Built in the early 19th century and significantly restyled in 1867, it is a fine example of Greek Revival architecture with added Italianate features. The congregation for which it was built grew out of a Methodist revival meeting held at the site in 1804, and was one of the first Methodist congregations in the state. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. It is presently unused.

The National Weather Service Gray/Portland, Maine (GYX) is a local office of the National Weather Service responsible for monitoring weather conditions over western Maine and all of New Hampshire. It is situated in Gray, Maine, in the metropolitan area of Portland, in a rural setting.

The Nathaniel Osgood House is a historic house on Maine State Route 136 in Durham, Maine. Built in 1785, early in the town's settlement history, it is a well-preserved example of Federal period architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Universalist Meeting House is a historic church on Maine State Route 231 in the Intervale area of New Gloucester, Maine. Built in 1839, it is a fine example of a Greek Revival church in a rural context. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Pine Tree Academy (also known as Pine Tree or PTA) is a Seventh-day Adventist, co-educational University preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades K–12. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. The school is located in Freeport, Maine, north of Portland. Pine Tree Academy was founded in 1921 on a farm near Auburn, Maine. The school closed in 1933 because of The Depression. In 1961, the academy reopened as Pine Tree Memorial School in Freeport. In 1973, the school began offering all four years of the high school grades. Today, the academy is the oldest academy in the Northern New England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The academy is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and by the Adventist Accrediting Association. The academy has two sports programs—basketball and soccer. The basketball teams are members of the Maine Principals' Association. The soccer teams are members of the Maine Christian School Sports League. In 2018, Derek Michael Boyce, a high school math and science teacher at the school, was arrested for having an inappropriate relationship with one of his students, a fifteen-year-old girl.
