Wittensee

Hüttener Berge is an Amt ("collective municipality") in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Its seat is in Groß Wittensee. It was formed on 1 January 2008 from the former Ämter Hütten and Wittensee. The Amt Hüttener Berge consists of the following municipalities:

Bünsdorf is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

Damendorf (Danish: Damtorp) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

Haby is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. At the southwestern end of the village of Haby the meadows are filled with fog some nights. This is where there was, until the middle of the 20th century, a big lake which was linked to the Wittensee. For a thousand years it was used by people living in this area as a fishing ground till the growing agricultural industry caused the lake to vanish. Haby was mentioned in records first 800 years ago. The ending "by" indicates Viking origins. Haby is the most southern location in Germany with the "by" ending. There is another village with an almost identical name in southern Sweden.

Osterby (Danish: Østerby) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is mostly rural.

Schirnau is a river of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It flows from the lake Wittensee to the Kiel Canal and has a length of 3 km (1.9 mi). The first part of the rivers is within the village of Bünsdorf and contains several bridges. The next part passes through agricultural areas, while the second half is mostly flowing through unpopulated and hardly accessible wet areas, mostly on the western bank of the river. The final part near the farm Gut Schrinau is held back by a dam to form a small lake. Prior to the construction of the Kiel Canal it discharged into the river Eider below Gut Schrinau; nowadays it there discharges into the Kiel Canal.

Klein Wittensee is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Klein Wittensee is south of the municipality of Groß Wittensee, and north of Bünsdorf.

Sehestedt (Danish: Sehested) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Sehestedt is south of the municipality of Groß Wittensee, Haby or Holtsee, but north of Bovenau, and west of Lindau. It is divided into two parts by the Kiel Canal, which has to be crossed by a ferry.

Hütten (Danish: Hytten) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated approximately 8 km southwest of Eckernförde. Hütten is part of the Amt ("collective municipality") Hüttener Berge. The seat of the Amt is in Groß Wittensee.

Goosefeld (Danish: Gosefeld or Gosby) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Goosefeld is south of the municipality of Windeby, but north of Groß Wittensee, Haby and Holtsee.

Bistensee is a former municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. On 1 March 2008, it was merged with Ahlefeld to form the municipality Ahlefeld-Bistensee.
