WPBB (98.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Holmes Beach, Florida and serving the Tampa Bay media market. It is owned by the Beasley Broadcast Group, and airs a classic rock radio format, branded as "98.7 The Shark." The playlist concentrates on mostly harder-edged active rock titles from the 1980s and 1990s, billed as "Classic Rock That Really Rocks." WPBB's studios are on Executive Center Drive in St. Petersburg and the transmitter is off Park Boulevard North in Seminole.

The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary was a bird sanctuary in Indian Shores, Florida that was in operation from 1971-2016. In 1990, its bird hospital was called "the largest wild bird hospital in North America". The sanctuary operated solely on private donations and was the largest not-for-profit wild bird sanctuary and rehabilitation center in the United States. The sanctuary was dedicated to the Rescue, Repair, Rehabilitation and Release of sick and/or injured wild birds, and provided a permanent home to non-releasable birds in a safe and healthy environment. In January, 2013, the sanctuary experienced a staff walk-out due to non-payment of wages. The sanctuary remained open, thanks to the tireless efforts of a handful of dedicated individuals. In April 2013, the Sumter Disaster Animal Rescue Team helped the Sanctuary refurbish and prep the wild bird hospital to reopen.Due to a legal settlement in September 2016, the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary ceased operations and closed after 45 years of service. Following the closing of Suncoast, a new non-profit organization called the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary moved into the same Indian Shores location. The new organization rescues and rehabilitates birds from all over the Tampa Bay area. Continued relationships in the community with veterinarians, wildlife experts and volunteers has kept the sanctuary viable.

Tiki Gardens was a South Seas Polynesian theme park in Indian Shores, Florida. The park, which opened in 1964, was closed in the 1980s and sold by the owners, "Trader" Frank Byars and Wahine Jo Byars, to a developer who planned to build a hotel on the large property. Pinellas County, Florida bought the property from the developer and turned it into a public beach access parking lot. The LP Exotic Sounds from Tiki Gardens features "Polynesian Fantasy...the Tiki Gardens Theme Song", which was written by Ernie Shreeves, one of the "men behind Tiki Gardens".

Lake Seminole is a freshwater lake in urban Pinellas County in the U.S. state of Florida. The lake is located in the city of Seminole, about 20 miles (32 km) west of Tampa. Lake Seminole is the second largest lake in Pinellas County (after Lake Tarpon), with a surface area of 700 acres (2.8 km2).Once a tidal estuary, Lake Seminole was created in the 1940s by closing the upper portion of Long Bayou. Lake Seminole's watershed is unusually small for a lake of its size, draining only approximately 5.5 miles of the county, in mostly developed Seminole and Largo. Historically the watershed was much larger than its current limits, but was altered in the early 1970s to divert runoff into Long Bayou for flood relief. Due to the low volume of water, and the nutrient and pollutant rich drainage from the urbanized area surrounding the lake, water quality has been a concern, with the county developing the Lake Seminole Watershed Management Plan to protect water quality and habitat. On the east shore of Lake Seminole is Lake Seminole Park, a 250 acre county park that provides year-round public access to the lake. Popular activities on the lake include boating, jet skiing, water-skiing, and fishing. The park is also popular with families and nature enthusiasts, and includes a two-mile multi-use trail that winds through pine flat woods, a softball field, and volleyball courts.

It is home to biking and walking trails, which include a main two-mile-long paved trail, with a 1-mile cutoff option. There are multiple small paths that are about half a mile long that go around a pond and a playground.

The Gulf Beaches Public Library, located within the City of Madeira Beach, is a nonprofit corporation created and supported by the Towns of Redington Shores, North Redington Beach, Redington Beach, and the Cities of Madeira Beach and Treasure Island, Florida. The library is run by a ten-member Board of Trustees; each municipality appointing two members. It is a member of the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative.
