Providence is a town in Saratoga County, New York, United States. The Town of Providence is on the county's western border and is northwest of Saratoga Springs. More than half the town is located within the Adirondack Park, the town also borders the Great Sacandaga Lake.

The Saratoga County Homestead, or Homestead Sanitarium, was a large tuberculosis sanatorium located in the hamlet of Barkersville, [Also known as East Galway] in Providence, New York. It is publicly recorded as The Homestead Sanitarium and located on County Highway 16. The Homestead was opened in 1914 and treated patients for tuberculosis until 1960. The original building was wood, but was replaced by the brick building that stands today, in 1932. The institution reopened in 1961 as The Saratoga County Infirmary. Some visitors of the building point to the things left behind — beds, books, kitchen supplies, medical supplies, etc. — as evidence of the facility being shut down suddenly. However, if this was in fact reopened as the Saratoga County Infirmary, then the left behind items would not be related to the sanitarium. Saratoga County officials sold the building in the 1980s to Bruce Houran, who was planning to reopen it as healthcare related facility. The building remains vacant, but still stands.Thrill seekers have often traveled to this building in the hopes of capturing some ghost activity.It has been sold to Patrick Brereton of Saratoga Springs, New York.The Homestead was sold via tax auction in September 2019 to current owner, James Walk from Corinth, Texas. The Homestead is set to undergo renovations and James is working with a local contact to start scheduling photography tours and will eventually open access to most parts of the hospital. The caretakers house is scheduled as the first stage in the rehab for the entire property. Plans for the property include creating a retreat for veterans, adding some local business, creation of agricultural training course and outdoor gardens along with a living museum of the sites history as a tuberculosis hospital.

Galway Lake is located west of Galway (village), New York, in the town of Galway in Saratoga County, New York, United States. The lake was first constructed in 1855 to serve as a reservoir for the nearby City of Amsterdam, and was owned by the Amsterdam Water Works Company. Galway Lake was enlarged by the creation of the Galway Lake Dam on North Chuctanunda Creek in Saratoga County, New York, once used to power various mills and industries along the creek, and is now used solely for recreation purposes. Construction of the current Galway Lake Dam was completed in 1982, after the camper association purchased it from the Amsterdam Water Works Company for $1. At normal levels it has a surface area of 564 acres (228 ha). It is property of Galway Lake Campers Association.At low levels the Lake is at 550 acres (220 ha); also, it currently permits only electric powered or sail boats. The Lake is located at latitude - longitude coordinates (also known as lat-long or GPS coordinates) of N 43.02619 and W -74.08291. Galway Lake is shown in the center of the topographic (topo) map, which is sourced from the United States Geographical Survey map USGS Galway quad.

Northville Pond is a lake that is located by Northville, New York. Fish species present in the lake are rainbow trout, pumpkinseed sunfish, and brown bullhead. There is a carry down off South Main Street in Northville.

Mead House is a historic home located at Galway in Saratoga County, New York. It was built about 1825 and is a 2-story, five-by-two-bay timber framed residence. It has a rectangular main block with an attached 2-story gable-roofed wing and 1+1⁄2-story kitchen wing. It center hall plan with vernacular Federal-style interior decoration. Also on the property is a contributing frame carriage barn.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Godfrey Shew House is a historic home located at Fish House in Fulton County, New York. It was built in 1784 and is a 2-story, five-bay-wide and two-bay-deep, timber-frame, gable-roofed residence in the Federal style. Attached to the main block is a 1-story wing. It features a 1-story entrance porch supported by four Tuscan columns. Also on the property is a 2+1⁄2-story carriage house dating to about 1885.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

George West House is a historic home located at 801 NY-29 in Rock City Falls in Saratoga County, New York. It was built in 1866 for prominent industrialist and congressman George West, known as the "Paper Bag King" for his invention of the folded paper bag.The house is a two-story, wood-framed hipped-roofed residence in the Italian Villa style. It features a projecting full-height entrance pavilion and an ornate, flat-roofed entrance portico. It also has an enclosed, hip-roofed belvedere with decorative finials situated at the center of the roof. Also on the property is a contributing carriage barn and corncrib.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

West Charlton United Presbyterian Church, also known as "Scotch Church," is a historic Presbyterian church at 1331 Sacandaga Road in West Charlton, Saratoga County, New York. It was built about 1880 and is a rectangular, wood-frame building in the Late Victorian style. It features engaged corner towers and a polygonal chapel added in 1904. The north tower supports a louvered belfry topped by a tall spire. The church was founded by immigrants from Scotland.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Middle Grove is a hamlet in the town of Greenfield, New York. The community is 6.8 miles (10.9 km) west of Saratoga Springs. Middle Grove has a post office with ZIP code 12850.Middle Grove is located along the Kayaderosseras creek. The first sawmill in the town of Greenfield was established here in 1786, and it was the site of several paper mills. Middle Grove was the terminus of the Kaydeross Railroad.The trailheads of the Hennig Preserve are located in Middle Grove. The preserve is 606 acres (245 ha) of forests, creeks, and ponds open for hiking and cross-country skiing.

West Milton is a hamlet in Ballston Spa, Saratoga County, New York, United States at an elevation of 440 feet (134 m). Nearby lies the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory's Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, which tests naval nuclear reactor designs. The facility includes a notable large sphere dome constructed in 1953 to contain any possible radiation leaks from the work done within.

Rock City Falls is a hamlet in the town of Milton, Saratoga County, New York, United States. The principal roads are Route 29 and Rock City Falls Road. The hamlet achieved fame as the origins of Paper Bag King George West, who established his Empire Mill there in 1862. He went on to build the Excelsior Mill next door in 1866 and a mansion across the street. The George West House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.There were saw and grist-mills in the upper part of Rock City before 1800, usually known then as the Hatch mills, though owned by Swan. This was the first use of the splendid water-power at that point. Not much later than that, however, another one was erected by Rathbone, the first settler at the hamlet of Rock City. There were two brothers Rathbone, one the pioneer merchant and landlord, the other the mill-owner. One of them afterwards removed to Greenfield.From 1898 to 1929, the hamlet was served by The Ballston Terminal Railroad, an electric trolley that hauled freight cars for the paper mills and carried passengers to Ballston Spa.Today Rock City Falls is largely residential, although the Cottrell Paper Company still operates much as it did one hundred years ago. The Empire Mill and Excelsior Mill of George West are part of a park, and the former trolley railroad bed is scheduled to become a walking trail called Boice Park.

Samuel and Johanna Jones Farm is a historic home and farm complex located near Amsterdam in Montgomery County, New York. The farmhouse was built about 1840 and is in the Greek Revival style. It consists of a 2-story main block, three bays wide and three bays deep, with a 2-story rear wing. Attached is a 1+1⁄2-story "tee" wing, with a 1-story wing. It features an oriel window, covered wooden balconies, and porches. Also on the property are a cowbarn, milkshed, a chicken coop, a machine shed, and an outhouse.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
