Hickory Creek is a stream in Berrien County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a tributary to the St. Joseph River. Hickory Creek was named for the hickory timber in the area.

St. Joseph, colloquially known as St. Joe, is a city and the county seat of Berrien County, Michigan. It was incorporated as a village in 1834 and as a city in 1891. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 8,365. It lies on the shore of Lake Michigan, at the mouth of the St. Joseph River, about 90 miles (140 km) east-northeast of Chicago. It is home of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.

WHFB (1060 kHz) is an AM radio station dually licensed to the Twin Cities of Benton Harbor and St. Joseph, Michigan, broadcasting an urban oldies format. 1060 AM is a United States and Mexican clear-channel frequency; KYW and XECPAE are the dominant stations on this frequency. It broadcasts from its studios on Fairplain Avenue located in Fair Plain, Michigan, an unincorporated area south of Benton Harbor. The station's transmitter and broadcast tower are also at this location. WHFB is also heard on 102.5 FM, through a translator in Benton Harbor.

St. Joseph Charter Township is a charter township of Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 10,028 at the 2010 census. The township is on the shores of Lake Michigan in the west central portion of the county, south of and adjacent to the city of St. Joseph. The village of Shoreham, on Lake Michigan south of St. Joseph city, is the only incorporated community within the boundaries of the township. Both the village and township are bedroom communities for the city of St. Joseph. The St. Joseph River flows through the township. Fair Plain is an unincorporated census-designated place that includes the portion of the township lying north of the St. Joseph River. The township was one of the original divisions of Berrien County, and was organized in 1832.

Our Lady of the Lake Catholic High School is a parochial, Roman Catholic high school in St. Joseph, Michigan. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kalamazoo. Prior to the 2022-2023 school year, the school was named Lake Michigan Catholic High School.Our Lady of the Lake Catholic High School was formed by the merger of St. John and St. Joseph Catholic Schools in 1969. Since then, the high school has been part of a PS-12 school system serving Southwestern Michigan in the Catholic education tradition. The school system is supported by the parishes of St. John, St. Bernard, and St. Joseph and the Twin-City Area Catholic School Fund, Inc. Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Schools are a part of the educational system established by the Diocese of Kalamazoo, MI and are subject to the policies of the Diocesan Office of Schools. The school is accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools. St. Joseph station, also known as St. Joseph–Benton Harbor station, is an Amtrak train station in St. Joseph, Michigan, United States, served by Amtrak's Pere Marquette line. It is located at 410½ Vine Street in St. Joseph opposite Silver Beach County Park. Since 2005 the station has shared the building with Silver Beach Pizza. In 1986 the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad sold this station to the city of St. Joseph, Mi for $10,000. The station has a small waiting room with a self-service kiosk to purchase tickets.

On July 11, 2016, Larry Darnell Gordon, an inmate, opened fire on the third floor of the Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan, killing two bailiffs and injuring a sheriff's deputy. Gordon, who was facing a multitude of charges that carried a possible life sentence, was being taken to a holding cell following a courthouse hearing when he disarmed an officer and attempted to take hostages. Moments after taking hostages, other court officers shot and killed Gordon.

Fort Miami was a fort on the bank of the St. Joseph River at the site of the present-day city of St. Joseph, Michigan, in the United States. It was established in November 1679 by a band of French explorers led by René Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle on the banks of what was then called the River Miami as a mission and Indian trading outpost. His soldiers destroyed it the next year. It was rebuilt in winter 1680–81. In 1700, a second fort was erected by a visiting Jesuit mission and remained in French possession until the French and Indian War (1754-1763), at which point it was conquered by the British. It came under the command of Colonel John Colonel, who with a handful of soldiers resisted regular attacks by surrounding indigenous tribes. It fell to a raiding party during Pontiac's Rebellion in 1763 until quickly returning to British rule at the end of the same year.

Fair Plain (also "Fairplain" ) is an unincorporated community in Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes and has no legal status as a municipality. The population was 7,631 at the 2010 census.

The Blossomland Bridge is a bascule bridge in St. Joseph, Michigan, that carries M-63 across the St. Joseph River. Delayed by World War II, construction took place from 1947 though 1948. At the time, it was the longest bridge built by the Michigan State Highway Department. The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Paw Paw River is located in the U.S. state of Michigan in the southwest portion of the lower peninsula. It is formed by the confluence of the north and south branches at 42°15′17″N 85°55′36″W in Waverly Township in the northeast of Van Buren County. It flows approximately 61.8 miles (99.5 km) through Van Buren County and Berrien County until joining the St. Joseph River just above its mouth on Lake Michigan at Benton Harbor.
