St. Joseph High School (St. Joseph, Michigan)

St. Joseph, colloquially known as St. Joe, is a city and the county seat of Berrien County, Michigan. It was incorporated as a village in 1834 and as a city in 1891. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 8,365. It lies on the shore of Lake Michigan, at the mouth of the St. Joseph River, about 90 miles (140 km) east-northeast of Chicago. It is home of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.

Spectrum Health Lakeland is a nonprofit community-owned health system in southwest Michigan. The health system comprises three hospitals, an outpatient surgery center, a regional cancer center, rehabilitation centers, two long-term care residences, home care and hospice services, and 34 affiliate physician practice locations.

Hickory Creek is a stream in Berrien County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a tributary to the St. Joseph River. Hickory Creek was named for the hickory timber in the area.

St. Joseph station, also known as St. Joseph–Benton Harbor station, is an Amtrak train station in St. Joseph, Michigan, United States, served by Amtrak's Pere Marquette line. It is located at 410½ Vine Street in St. Joseph opposite Silver Beach County Park. Since 2005 the station has shared the building with Silver Beach Pizza. In 1986 the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad sold this station to the city of St. Joseph, Mi for $10,000. The station has a small waiting room with a self-service kiosk to purchase tickets.

Silver Beach County Park is a park located in St. Joseph, Michigan at the mouth of the St. Joseph River. It was formerly Silver Beach Amusement Park, an amusement park, which operated between 1891 and 1971.

Our Lady of the Lake Catholic High School is a parochial, Roman Catholic high school in St. Joseph, Michigan. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kalamazoo. Prior to the 2022-2023 school year, the school was named Lake Michigan Catholic High School.Our Lady of the Lake Catholic High School was formed by the merger of St. John and St. Joseph Catholic Schools in 1969. Since then, the high school has been part of a PS-12 school system serving Southwestern Michigan in the Catholic education tradition. The school system is supported by the parishes of St. John, St. Bernard, and St. Joseph and the Twin-City Area Catholic School Fund, Inc. Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Schools are a part of the educational system established by the Diocese of Kalamazoo, MI and are subject to the policies of the Diocesan Office of Schools. The school is accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools. In accordance with Title IX compliance, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Schools do not discriminate on the basis of sex, religious affiliation, race, color, physical challenges, or national origin in admissions or employment opportunities.

Fort Miami was a fort on the bank of the St. Joseph River at the site of the present-day city of St. Joseph, Michigan, in the United States. It was established in November 1679 by a band of French explorers led by René Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle on the banks of what was then called the River Miami as a mission and Indian trading outpost. His soldiers destroyed it the next year. It was rebuilt in winter 1680–81. In 1700, a second fort was erected by a visiting Jesuit mission and remained in French possession until the French and Indian War (1754-1763), at which point it was conquered by the British. It came under the command of Colonel John Colonel, who with a handful of soldiers resisted regular attacks by surrounding indigenous tribes. It fell to a raiding party during Pontiac's Rebellion in 1763 until quickly returning to British rule at the end of the same year.

St. Joseph Charter Township is a charter township of Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 10,028 at the 2010 census. The township is on the shores of Lake Michigan in the west central portion of the county, south of and adjacent to the city of St. Joseph. The village of Shoreham, on Lake Michigan south of St. Joseph city, is the only incorporated community within the boundaries of the township. Both the village and township are bedroom communities for the city of St. Joseph. The St. Joseph River flows through the township. Fair Plain is an unincorporated census-designated place that includes the portion of the township lying north of the St. Joseph River. The township was one of the original divisions of Berrien County, and was organized in 1832.

The St. Joseph River (known locally as the St. Joe) is a tributary of Lake Michigan with a length of 206 miles (332 km). The river flows in a generally westerly direction through southern Michigan and northern Indiana, United States, to its terminus on the southeast shore of the lake. It drains a primarily rural farming area in the watershed of Lake Michigan. It was enormously important to Native Americans and greatly aided in the colonial exploration, settlement and administration of New France and the nascent United States as a canoe route between Lake Michigan and the watershed of the Mississippi River.

The Ninth District Lighthouse Depot is a collection of historic structures located at 1 Lighthouse Lane in St. Joseph, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It now houses the Saint Joseph River Yacht Club.

On July 11, 2016, Larry Darnell Gordon, an inmate, opened fire on the third floor of the Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan, killing two bailiffs and injuring a sheriff's deputy. Gordon, who was facing a multitude of charges that carried a possible life sentence, was being taken to a holding cell following a courthouse hearing when he disarmed an officer and attempted to take hostages. Moments after taking hostages, other court officers shot and killed Gordon.

The Blossomland Bridge is a bascule bridge in St. Joseph, Michigan, that carries M-63 across the St. Joseph River. Delayed by World War II, construction took place from 1947 though 1948. At the time, it was the longest bridge built by the Michigan State Highway Department. The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
