Seaford railway station is in Seaford, East Sussex, England. It is the terminus of the Seaford branch line of the East Coastway line, 58 miles 77 chains (94.9 km) measured from London Bridge. The line to the station has been reduced to a single track and only one platform remains in use (previously two), though it is still numbered "platform 2". Platform 1 is still visible but the track has been removed. Train services from the station are provided by Southern. The London, Brighton and South Coast Railway opened Seaford station on 1 June 1864. It was designed as a through station for a proposed extension to Eastbourne that was never built. A working model of Seaford Station as it appeared in the 1920s is displayed at Seaford Museum.

Seaford is a town in East Sussex, England, east of Newhaven and west of Eastbourne.In the Middle Ages, Seaford was one of the main ports serving Southern England, but the town's fortunes declined due to coastal sedimentation silting up its harbour and persistent raids by French pirates. The coastal confederation of Cinque Ports in the mediaeval period consisted of forty-two towns and villages; Seaford was included under the "Limb" of Hastings. Between 1350 and 1550, the French burned down the town several times. In the 16th century, the people of Seaford were known as the "cormorants" or "shags" because of their enthusiasm for looting ships wrecked in the bay. Local legend has it that Seaford residents would, on occasion, cause ships to run aground by placing fake harbour lights on the cliffs.Seaford's fortunes revived in the 19th century with the arrival of the railway connecting the town to Lewes and London. It became a small seaside resort town, and more recently a dormitory town for the nearby larger settlements of Eastbourne and Brighton, as well as for London. The traditional Sussex pronunciation of the name has a full vowel in each syllable: "sea-ford". However, outside Sussex, and increasingly within, it is commonly pronounced with a reduced vowel on the second syllable: SEE-fərd.

The Seaford Museum and Heritage Society is a local history museum located at the Martello Tower in East Sussex, England. It was established in 1979 and contains objects, archives and displays relating to the history of the local area.

Seaford Head School (formerly Seaford Head Community College), in Seaford, East Sussex, England, is a co-educational secondary school with academy status for students aged 11 to 16 years, with a sixth form centre for students aged 16 to 18. The school opened in 1938 as Seaford County Modern School, becoming Seaford County Secondary School in 1949. It became a comprehensive in 1972, became Seaford Head Community College in 1993, acquired Trust status in 2011 and in 2012 became an Academy as Seaford Head School. Due to increasing competition from the larger Sussex Downs College conglomerate, the sixth form closed in 2009; a new Sixth Form Centre opened in 2014. The school was in Ofsted special measures from 2004 to 2006. An Ofsted inspection was carried out in October 2010 and the school was judged "Good with many outstanding features" and was reassessed in 2017 and deemed “outstanding”.The school is a Specialist Science & Sports College, holding the Sport England Award Sportsmark. It also holds the British Council International School Award and the ArtsMark award from the English Art Council. It is a part of Healthy Schools East Sussex, which promotes healthy eating and lifestyles, and is a member of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.

Bishopstone is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Seaford, in the Lewes district, in the county of East Sussex, England. Bishopstone Village has a population of about 200 people, including the nearby hamlet of Norton. It is located on a no-through country lane west of the town of Seaford, in the South Downs National Park.

Bishopstone railway station is on the western side of the town of Seaford, East Sussex, England. It is situated close to the coast, and about 1 mile (1.6 km) from the downland rural village of Bishopstone after which it is named. Train services from the station are provided by Southern, and the station is on the Seaford Branch of the East Coastway Line, 58 miles 3 chains (93.4 km) measured from London Bridge.Before this station opened the first Bishopstone station was 0.6 miles (1 km) further west at Tide Mills. That was closed in 1938 when the current station opened, but was subsequently reopened under the name of Bishopstone Beach Halt, and survived as such until 1942.

Ladycross was a Catholic preparatory school in Seaford, East Sussex. It was founded in 1891 in Briely Road, Bournemouth, and moved to a purpose-built school in Eastbourne Road, Seaford in 1909. More than 2,000 pupils attended it before its closure in 1977. Among its schoolmasters was children's book author George Mills, who taught during the summer of 1956. The school was located on its own 15-acre premises in Seaford from 1909 until 1978, apart from a short period during the Second World War when at the height of the German bombing raids on British towns in 1941, the school was temporarily evacuated to Salperton Park, Gloucestershire.

Tide Mills is a derelict village in East Sussex, England. It lies about two kilometres (1.2 miles) south-east of Newhaven and four kilometres (2.5 miles) north-west of Seaford and is near both Bishopstone and East Blatchington. The village was condemned as unfit for habitation in 1936 and abandoned in 1939.
