2016 Brisbane International – Women's doubles

Martín García and Marcelo Melo were the defending champions, but García chose not to participate, and only Melo competed that year. Melo partnered with André Sá, but lost in the first round to Travis Parrott and Filip Polášek. Marc Gicquel and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga won in the final, 6–4, 6–3, against Fernando Verdasco and Mischa Zverev.

Alla Kudryavtseva and Anastasia Rodionova were the defending champions, but they chose not to participate together this year. Kudryavtseva played with Alexandra Panova, but lost in the quarterfinals to Martina Hingis and Sabine Lisicki. Rodionova played with Arina Rodionova, but lost in the quarterfinals to Hsieh Su-wei and Sania Mirza. Hingis and Lisicki won the title, defeating Caroline Garcia and Katarina Srebotnik in the final, 6–2, 7–5.

The 2011 Brisbane International was a joint ATP and WTA tennis tournament, played on outdoor hard courts in Brisbane, Queensland. It was the 3rd edition of the tournament and took place at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson and was held from 2 to 9 January 2011. It was part of the Australian Open Series in preparation for the first grandslam of the year. During the tournament, $10 was donated for every ace to the fund supporting the current Queensland floods, which was unfolding during the tournament.

Lukáš Dlouhý and Paul Hanley were the defending champions but decided not to participate together. Dlouhý played alongside Marcelo Melo (lost in the first round to Tommy Haas and Radek Štěpánek), while Hanley partnered up with Jamie Murray (eliminated in the Quarterfinals to Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecău). First seeds Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor won the title, defeating second seeds Jürgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner in the final.

Victoria Azarenka was the defending champion, but chose not to participate this year. Kim Clijsters won in the final 6–3, 4–6, 7–6(8–6), against her compatriot Justine Henin, saving two match points in the third set. Henin marked her return from the tournament after her first retirement.

Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor were the defending champions, but decided not to participate. Unseeded pair Marcelo Melo and Tommy Robredo won the title, defeating Eric Butorac and Paul Hanley in the final, 4–6, 6–1, [10–5].

Andy Roddick was the defending champion, but Robin Söderling defeated him 6–3, 7–5 in the final.

Jérémy Chardy and Marc Gicquel were the defending champions, having beaten Lukáš Dlouhý and Leander Paes in the 2010 final but decided not to participate this year. Dlouhý and Paul Hanley won this tournament. Their opponents (Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecău) retired, when the result was 6–4, due to Lindstedt's injury.

The 2015 Brisbane International was a tournament of the 2015 ATP World Tour and 2015 WTA Tour. It was played on outdoor hard courts in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was the sixth edition of the tournament and took place at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson. It was held from 4 to 11 January 2015. It was part of the Australian Open Series in preparation for the first Grand Slam of the year. It was announced on 1 September 2014 that Roger Federer had again committed to the event. Federer and Sharapova won the singles titles.

The 2014 Brisbane International was a joint 2014 ATP World Tour and 2014 WTA Tour tennis tournament, played on outdoor hard courts in Brisbane, Queensland. It was the sixth edition of the tournament and took place at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson. It was held from 29 December 2013 to 5 January 2014 and was part of the Australian Open Series in preparation for the first Grand Slam of the year. In a major coup for the tournament, it was announced on 24 July 2013 that former world no. 1 and 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer had committed to the event for the first time, thus breaking from his tradition of beginning the season in the Middle East. This announcement was dubbed "the biggest announcement in the history of the Brisbane International". Defending champion Serena Williams, two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka, 2013 Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki, former world number ones Caroline Wozniacki and Jelena Janković and former ATP world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt were also big drawcards for the event.

Serena Williams was the two-time defending champion, but she chose to participate at the Hopman Cup instead. Maria Sharapova won the title, defeating Ana Ivanovic in the final 6–7(4–7), 6–3, 6–3.

The 2013 Brisbane International was a joint 2013 ATP World Tour and 2013 WTA Tour tennis tournament, played on outdoor hard courts in Brisbane, Queensland. It was the 5th edition of the tournament and took place at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson. It was held from 30 December 2012 to 6 January 2013. It was part of the Australian Open Series in preparation for the first Grand Slam of the year.
