WEPL-LP (97.1 FM) is a low-power radio station based in Rochester, New York. The station is owned and operated by the Ibero-American Action League as a service to the Latino community in Rochester. The station, branded as PODER 97.1, features Latin music interspersed with Spanish-language news and talk. It began broadcasting in its current format on November 30, 2015. In August 2023, the Ibero-American Action League entered into an agreement to purchase translator W298CH (107.5) from the WXXI Public Broadcasting Council pending FCC approval. The translater was used to boost WEPL's signal.

Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD) is a private, tuition-free school for deaf and hard of hearing students to attend in Rochester, New York. It is one of the oldest and most respected preK-12th grade schools for children with hearing loss and their families in the United States, and one of nine such school in the state of New York. Serving the Central and Western portions of New York State, it has been educating students since 1876. Rochester School for the Deaf is an inclusive, bilingual school (Communication Philosophy) where deaf and hard of hearing children and their families thrive in an extraordinarily rich educational environment. The school's approach includes: New York State Regents-level educational programs; Direct communication through American Sign Language and English; Highly skilled teaching and support staff professionals; Inclusive, barrier-free approach to teaching and learning activities; and Support to students and their families through a wide array of accessible services.The intake evaluation process for deaf and hard of hearing children to attend RSD follows New York State Education Department procedures. Families in New York State with deaf and hard of hearing children – newborn to age 18 – can apply to RSD directly at any time. Parents of deaf and hard of hearing infants, toddlers and twos (children up to age 3) may request a referral to RSD from their county's Early Intervention program. Families with children age 3 to 5 can request a referral to RSD from their home school district's Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE). Families with children age 5 to 18 can request a referral to RSD from their school district's Committee on Special Education (CSE). RSD support service staff conducts comprehensive intake evaluations. The mission of the Association is to enhance the future of New York's children and advocate for the continuation of specialized services.

Saint Michael's of Rochester Roman Catholic church located in Rochester, New York. Standing at 246 feet (75 m), it is the 10th tallest building in Rochester. It is a currently active parish church within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester, Monroe Central Deanery, and is one of three churches that make up the Saint Francis Xavier Cabrini Parish, alongside Church of the Annunciation, and Our Lady of the Americas Church.

Congregation Ahavas Achim Anshi Austria, also known as Congregation B'Nai Israel, is a historic synagogue located at Rochester in Monroe County, New York. It was built in 1928, and is a two-story, Georgian Revival style brick building with decorative cast stone classical details. It is five-bays wide with the end bays being square towers and a recessed triangular parapet is between the two towers. The front façade features a portico with four Ionic order round columns. The building was used as a synagogue until 2004.: 3, 7 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Silver Stadium was a baseball stadium located at 500 Norton Street in Rochester, New York. It was the home stadium for the Rochester Red Wings of the International League from 1929 to 1996, and for the New York Black Yankees of the Negro National League for their final season in 1948. The ballpark also briefly hosted professional football as it was the home field for the Rochester Braves (second American Football League) in 1936 and the Rochester Tigers (second American Football League) in 1936 and 1937. The facility opened May 2, 1929, as Red Wing Stadium. It was renamed Silver Stadium on August 19, 1968, for Morrie Silver, then the president of Rochester Community Baseball, Inc. Silver Stadium hosted its final event, a Governors' Cup playoff game between the Columbus Clippers and the Red Wings, on September 10, 1996, and was demolished in late 1997 and early 1998. The site is now an industrial and office park.

The Veterans Memorial Bridge in Rochester, New York, carries New York State Route 104 (less well known as the Keeler Street Expressway) across the Genesee River. The bridge is an architecturally significant concrete arch faced with white granite. Conceived in 1928 and finished in 1931, the span is the longest bridge in Rochester at 981 feet (299 m). It is 190 feet (58 m) in height and 106 feet (32 m) wide. The Maplewood Historic District is located in Rochester in Monroe County, New York. The district is distinguished as having landscape designs, including Maplewood Park, originally laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted.The district consists of 432 contributing structures and four contributing sites. They include 245 contributing primary buildings (234 houses, two apartments, three churches, two church-related residences, three buildings associated with a church school, and one recreational facility). There are also 187 contributing outbuildings (carriagehouses and garages). The four contributing sites are three parks and one archaeological site. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. In 2016 its boundaries were increased to take in more properties.

Vanderbeck House, also known as the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter House, is a historic home located at Rochester in Monroe County, New York. It is a three-story brick structure with a slate-covered mansard roof and a foundation of sandstone blocks. It was built in 1874 in the Second Empire style. In 1959, the single family home was converted to offices and apartments.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Edgerton is a neighborhood in the Northwest Quadrant of Rochester, New York that sits between the Genesee River on the east and the Erie Canal bed on the west. One of the city's oldest and largest residential areas, Edgerton is among the most ethnically, linguistically, and racially diverse communities in Western New York. The neighborhood has been called "the Bermuda Triangle of Rochester" because of its "nearly invisible" status in local politics. Edgerton is currently the poorest neighborhood in Rochester, with an Unemployment Rate higher than that of the United States during the Great Depression. Edgerton has been one of the largest contributors to Rochester's physical, political, and social landscapes, especially during the neighborhood's time as the "heart of the city" in the 20th century. The home of radicals like Helen Barrett Montgomery and innovators like George Eastman, Edgerton is the birthplace of the first commercially successful flexible film and the modern vocational school. Today, the neighborhood contains the largest urban farm in Western New York, an abundance of public art and innovative architecture, and some of Rochester's most famous parks, such as Edgerton Park and the Frederick Law Olmsted-designed Lower Falls Park and Jones Square Park.

Genesee Brewing Company ( JEN-ə-see) is an American brewery located along the Genesee River in Rochester, New York. From 2000 to 2009, the company was known as the High Falls Brewing Company. In 2009, High Falls was acquired by the capital investment firm KPS Capital. Together with newly acquired Labatt USA, KPS merged the two companies as North American Breweries. Along with this change, High Falls Brewery changed its name back to the original "Genesee Brewing Company" operating under the North American Breweries name. In October 2012, North American Breweries was purchased by FIFCO. In 2012, North American Breweries was the sixth-largest brewing company in America by sales volume.

Dundee was a Rochester, New York–based brewing company that produced ales and lagers. It was part of the Genesee Brewing Company, owned by North American Breweries (now FIFCO USA ) which started marketing the brand's first lager in 1994 as J.W. Dundee's Honey Brown. Honey Brown quickly gained a good reputation and won awards, most notably the gold medal at the 2004 World Beer Cup. The company produced one year-round craft beer, India Pale Ale, as well as eight craft beers available in seasonal variety packs: English-Style Ale, Kölsch-Style Ale, Pale Ale, Pale Bock, Pilsner, Porter and Stout. The company also produced four seasonal craft beers: Irish Red Lager (Spring), Summer Shandy (Summer), Oktoberfest (Fall), Nut Brown Ale (Winter). On October 29, 2020, Genesee Brewing announced the rebranding of Original Honey Brown Lager, their last product still bearing the J.W. Dundee brand, to Genesee Specialty.
