Bever (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbeːvər] ; French: Biévène, French pronunciation: [bjevɛn]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality only comprises the town of Bever proper. It is located in the Pajottenland. It is located at 50°43′N 3°56′E. On January 1, 2018, Bever had a total population of 2,204. The total area is 19.78 km² which gives a population density of 111 inhabitants per km². It is a Dutch-speaking village with language facilities for French-speakers.

Raspaillebos (with the adjacent Moerbekebos and forest reserve Karkoolbos) is a forest area in the Flemish Ardennes in the south of the Belgian province of East Flanders. The forest area of 50 hectares is located on the territory of the municipality of Geraardsbergen (boroughs Moerbeke and Grimminge), near the provincial border with Galmaarden in Flemish Brabant. Raspaillebos connects to Moerbekebos, to the Flemish forest reserve Karkoolbos, and also to the forest area Kluysbos in Galmaarden. Raspaillebos is managed by the Flemish government agency Agency for Nature and Forest (Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos) and by Natuurpunt. The nature reserve holds European recognition as a Natura 2000 area (Bossen van de Vlaamse Ardennen en andere Zuid-Vlaamse bossen) and is part of the Flemish Ecological Network. The area has been a protected landscape since 1980 and is also recognized as a quiet area.

The Muur van Geraardsbergen (English: Wall of Geraardsbergen/Grammont, French: Mur de Grammont) is a steep, narrow road with cobblestones in Geraardsbergen, Belgium. It is also known as Kapelmuur, Muur-Kapelmuur or simply Muur. The hill starts near the river Dender at 18 m and reaches the top of the Oudenberg at 110 m after 1,075 m at 9.3 per cent. This climb is often part of the Tour of Flanders professional cycling race.

Boelare Castle is a castle near the village Nederboelare, Geraardsbergen municipality, in the province of East Flanders, Belgium. It used to be the seat of the feudal domain Land and Barony of Boelare. The oldest recording of the name Boelare dates back to the 11th century, but the domain is probably older.Some indications point to a first castle in Boelare in the 9th century. However, the structure of the current castle buildings dates back to 1605. On 1 July 1987 the castle was classified as an important national treasure by the Belgian government. In 1983, the buildings were renovated, and are currently housing a home for elderly people.

Galmaarden (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɣɑlmaːrdə(n)] ; French: Gammerages, French pronunciation: [ɡamʁaʒ]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Galmaarden proper, Tollembeek and Vollezele. It is also situated in the Pajottenland. On January 1, 2006, Galmaarden had a total population of 8,058. The total area is 34.93 km2 which gives a population density of 231 inhabitants per km2. Galmaarden is the current home of the comedian Urbanus, who has a statue in Tollembeek. There is a statue of the stallion Brillant in Vollezele.

The pagus of Brabant (Latin: Pagus Bracbantensis, Dutch: Brabantgouw) was a geographical region in the early Middle Ages, located in what is now Belgium. It was the first region known to have been called Brabant, and it included the modern capital of Belgium, Brussels. Although it was divided between powerful neighbouring counties of Flanders, Hainaut and Louvain (Leuven) in the eleventh century, the eastern part which went to the Counts of Louvain, not only kept the name in use but became the primary name of their large lordship. This led to other regions later being named Brabant - in particular, the French and Dutch-speaking areas now called Brabant, east of the Dyle, including Leuven and Wavre; and secondly the province of North Brabant in the Netherlands. The area of the old pagus of Brabant is and was multi-lingual, divided between Dutch (Flemish) speakers in the north, and French (and Picard) speakers in the south. Today the region includes not only bi-lingual Brussels, but also parts of the modern Dutch-speaking Belgian provinces of Flemish Brabant and East Flanders, and the French-speaking provinces of Hainaut and Walloon Brabant.

The Mark (Dutch) or Marcq (French) is a river in Belgium, right tributary of the Dender. It rises around 5 kilometres (3 mi) south-west of Enghien, Hainaut, close to the village St-Marcou in the forests of Bois de Ligne en Bois d'Enghien. It passes through the homonymous village Marcq, Enghien, Herne, Tollembeek, Galmaarden, Vollezele, Bever, Moerbeke and Viane. The Mark flows into the Dender in Deux-Acres, between Lessines and Geraardsbergen. The Dender is a tributary of the Scheldt. The Mark is approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) long.

Overboelare Airfield (Dutch: Vliegveld Overboelare, ICAO: EBGG) is a private use airport located near Geraardsbergen, East Flanders, Belgium.

Geraardsbergen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɣeːraːrdzbɛrɣə(n)] ; French: Grammont, French pronunciation: [ɡʁamɔ̃]) is a city and municipality located in the Denderstreek and in the Flemish Ardennes, the hilly southern part of the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Geraardsbergen proper and the following towns: Goeferdinge, Grimminge, Idegem, Moerbeke, Nederboelare, Nieuwenhove, Onkerzele, Ophasselt, Overboelare, Schendelbeke, Smeerebbe-Vloerzegem, Viane, Waarbeke, Zandbergen and Zarlardinge.In 2021, Geraardsbergen had a total population of 33,970. The total area is 79.71 km².The current mayor of Geraardsbergen is Ann Panis, from the (liberal) party Open VLD.

Deux-Acren is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Lessines, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium.

The Ghislenghien disaster was an explosion of a natural gas pipeline in Ghislenghien (a village in the municipality of Ath, Belgium) on July 30, 2004. It was caused by a natural gas leak resulting from by damage from a construction vehicle. The explosion and fire killed 24 people (primarily first responders) and injured 132. It was the worst industrial disaster in Belgium since the 1956 Marcinelle mining disaster and is one of the worst peacetime disasters in the country's history. The disaster led to a reform of the civil security service in Belgium.
