Denmark Road High School (Formerly known as High School for Girls) is a girls' grammar school with academy status on Denmark Road, Gloucester. It has a mixed sixth form and is one of only three girls' grammar schools in Gloucestershire. It consistently ranks in league tables as one of the best schools in England, and one of the Top 50 selective schools in the UK.

Hillfield House is a grade II listed house in Denmark Road, Gloucester, in England. The building, in the Italianate style popularised by Charles Barry, is faced in ashlar Bath stone, with a centrally placed tower and a porte-cochère entrance.It was built in 1867–69 by Albert Estcourt to a design by John Giles for the timber merchant Charles Walker, and replaced an earlier house of 1826 known as Woodbine Hill. One source states that the previous building was a "classical villa which dates back to around 1820". It once had extensive grounds, but these are now a park known as Hillfield Gardens. The description in December 2020 stated: "Now a Council-owned public park covering about 1.6 hectares, Highfield Gardens is supported by an active Friends group which organises annual events".During WW I the property was used as an emergency hospital. Between 1933 and 2014, the house was occupied as offices by local government agencies. A survey in 2014 "described the house as a "classical villa which dates back to around 1820 and is of significant historical value to the city".The historic listing described the building as "a good example of a mid C19 villa, particularly notable for its fine interior" and another source called it the "most elaborate Victorian house in Gloucester".The gates and lodge to the former entrance from London Road have also been Grade II listed, since 1998. The summary states: "Entrance gates to public gardens, formerly the gates to the grounds... ashlar piers and balustrade, wrought-iron gates. Carriage gateway and pedestrian gateway to right set back between short quadrant balustrades".

Kingsholm Stadium is a rugby union stadium located in the Kingsholm area of Gloucester, England, and is the home stadium of Gloucester Rugby. The stadium has a capacity of 16,115. It is sometimes nicknamed 'Castle Grim', after the estate where the stadium is built. The new main grandstand, opened in 2007, is an all-seated 7,500 capacity stand along the south touchline. It is currently sponsored by Malvern Tyres. Kingsholm was used as a home stadium for England before they settled at Twickenham and also hosted New Zealand versus United States for a pool match in the 1991 Rugby World Cup. In common with many grounds of English professional rugby union clubs, Kingsholm features several terraced standing areas. The North Stand is such an area and is known for sponsorship reasons as 'The Compeed Shed'. It runs down the whole length of the pitch and holds around 3,000 people. The Shed is known within rugby union for its proximity to the pitch and the low roof, enabling fervent home support. The West Stand terrace holds around 1,615 spectators and has a row of hospitality boxes located above. It is sponsored by Allstone speedy skips. The East Stand is an all-seater stand located directly on Kingsholm Road. It holds around 3,000 fans. It is sponsored by Stowford Press.

A planning application for 725 new homes in the parish of Twigworth was approved in December 2017.The place-name 'Twigworth' is first attested in 1220, as 'Twigeworth', and is thought to mean 'enclosure made of twigs'.

Clapham was a district of the City of Gloucester that was developed from 1822 by George Worrall Counsel who built several hundred houses for artisans. It included Worrall Street and Counsel Street, neither of which now exist. The area was redeveloped in the twentieth century and is now part of Kingsholm.

Wotton is a suburb of Gloucester, in the county of Gloucestershire, England. It is situated close to the city centre (1 mile), the Royal Hospital, the city's railway station and to London Road.

Longlevens, originally Longleavens, is a suburb of Gloucester, in the unparished area of Gloucester, in the Gloucester district, in the county of Gloucestershire, England. It developed from a farmstead during the twentieth century, the name may be based on the old Roman name Colonia Glevensis, or the name could be based on an original field name "Long Elevens". This could have related to a long field about eleven acres therefore this could have been adopted as a name for the hamlet, first recorded in 1750, as part of the estate of Gloucester Cathedral. One of the oldest roads is 'The Avenue', which is shown on old maps as a number of farm cottages. The population of Longlevens was 9,532 at the time of the 2011 Census.

Gloucestershire Archives holds the archives for the county of Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire. The archives are held at Alvin Street in Gloucester and run by Gloucestershire County Council.More recently, the Archives at Alvin Street have been rebranded as the Gloucestershire Heritage Hub. The project aims to encourage Gloucestershire residents to investigate their local history; in particular providing an accessible repository of documents for tracking family history. The Hub also provides volunteering opportunities such as the transcribing of historical sources. In the summer of 2019, the Hub embarked on a construction project to build a new entrance and strongrooms.
