The Linyuan Cingshueiyan Former Japanese Military Tunnel (traditional Chinese: 清水巖原日軍戰備坑道; simplified Chinese: 清水岩原日军战备坑道; pinyin: Qīngshuǐ Yányuán Rìjūn Zhànbèi Kēngdào) is a tunnel in Fongshan Hill, Linyuan District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

The Fengbitou Archaeological Site (traditional Chinese: 鳳鼻頭遺址; simplified Chinese: 凤鼻头遗址; pinyin: Fèngbítóu Yízhǐ), officially known as Fengpitou (Chungkengmen) Archaeological Site (in Taiwan's archaeological tradition, it is usually spelled n Wade–Giles system), is an archaeological site in Chungmen Village, Linyuan District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on the plateau north to the Chungkengmen Settlement. It’s at the southern direction of Fengshan Hill, with an area of 9.7 hectares. The archaeological culture can be dated back to 2,000 to 5,200 years ago, and the cultural layers includes Tapenkeng Culture, Fengpitou Type of Niuchoutzi Culture, and Fengpitou Culture, demonstrating the prehistoric development of southwestern Taiwan.

The Linhai Industrial Park (Chinese: 臨海工業區; pinyin: Línhǎi Gōngyè Qū) is an industrial park located in Siaogang District and Cianjhen District of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It near the Kaohsiung International Airport, No. 5 Container Center of Port of Kaohsiung and the terminal of National Highway No. 1. The Talin Power Plant, a fossil fuel power plant, is located near the park. And a reservoir called Fengshan Reservoir is to the south of park. Linhai Industrial Park is a major cluster of heavy industry in Taiwan. There are several of the largest producers in their industries situated in this industrial park, such as China Steel (steelmaker), CSBC Corporation (ship builder) and CPC Corporation (oil refiner). Furthermore, Linhai Industrial Park also has some manufacturers of machinery, steel, transportation and chemical industry.

The Dapingding Tropical Botanical Garden (traditional Chinese: 大坪頂熱帶植物園; simplified Chinese: 大坪顶热带植物园; pinyin: Dàpíngdǐng Rèdài Zhíwùyuán) is a garden in Siaogang District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan which is used as a museum of tropical plants and a recreational park.

Before the merging of Kaohsiung City and Kaohsiung County in 2010, Siaogang was the southernmost district in Kaohsiung City. The second largest airport in Taiwan, Kaohsiung International Airport, is located in Siaogang.

The National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT; Chinese: 國立高雄餐旅大學; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Kok-li̍p Ko-hiông Chhan-lú Tāi-ha̍k) is a public university located in Siaogang District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is the only public university specializing in hospitality and tourism in Taiwan.The total amount of Bachelor, Master and Doctoral enrollments were 5,331 in 2016.

The Talin Power Plant (traditional Chinese: 大林發電廠; simplified Chinese: 大林发电厂; pinyin: Dàlín Fādiànchǎng) or Dalin Power Plant is a mix-generation power plant in Siaogang District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. As of November 2022 it has four operational units: two 800 MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired units, which went into commercial operation on February 13, 2018 and October 24, 2019, a 500 MW gas-fired unit, which went into commercial operation on October 15, 1975 and a 550 MW gas-fired unit, which went into commercial operation on September 12, 1994.
