The University of Vermont (UVM), officially the University of Vermont and State Agricultural College, is a public land-grant research university in Burlington, Vermont. Founded in 1791, it is among the oldest universities in the United States as the fifth institution of higher learning established in the New England region of the United States. It is listed as one of the original eight "Public Ivy" institutions in the United States and is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".The largest hospital complex in Vermont, the University of Vermont Medical Center, has its primary facility on the UVM campus and is affiliated with the Robert Larner College of Medicine. One alumnus, Jody Williams, was awarded a Nobel Prize.

The Dudley H. Davis Center (also known as the Davis Center) at the University of Vermont was the first student center in the United States to receive a U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. The building is a four-story structure with a floor area between 186,000 and 202,954 ft2.Upon its completion in 2007, the Davis Center replaced the Billings Memorial Library as the university's main student center.

Johnson House is a campus building of the University of Vermont (UVM), which is located at 617 Main Street, on the southwestern corner of the intersection of University Heights in Burlington, Vermont. It was built in 1806 as part of a 22-acre farm by Moses Catlin on the parcel where Morrill Hall currently stands. Due to the forthcoming construction of Morrill Hall, the house was moved in 1906 to 590 Main Street (the present location of the Dudley Davis Center). The house was again moved on 9 July 2005 across the street to its current location at 617 Main Street, on the southwest side of the intersection of University Heights.Catlin sold the house and property to John Johnson (Vermont's third surveyor-general) in 1809. Johnson was an accomplished architect and engineer who designed and oversaw the construction of the original college building (the 1802 predecessor to the present day "Old Mill" building), its replacement (after it had burned down in 1824), as well as Grasse Mount in 1804, and Pomeroy Hall in 1828.The John Johnson House has housed the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics since 2002.

The Robert Larner College of Medicine is the medical school of the University of Vermont, a public research university in Burlington, Vermont. Established in 1822, it is the nation's seventh oldest medical school. The primary teaching hospital for the Larner College of Medicine is the UVM Medical Center in Burlington. The Larner College of Medicine offers both MD and PhD degrees, as well as a Certificate in Integrative Healthcare through the shared program with the University of Vermont College of Nursing and Health Sciences. In 2022, there were 479 medical students, 329 graduate students, and 42 post-doctoral students enrolled. The entering class of 2020 contains 120 students.The school's medical curriculum is known as the "Vermont Integrated Curriculum". It has both traditional, subject-based and more contemporary, organ/system-based components. The first 18 months of the curriculum are devoted to basic and clinical science; the remainder of the four-year program largely consists of clinical clerkships.

Converse Hall, built in 1895, is the oldest building on the campus of the University of Vermont (UVM) in Burlington that has been continuously used as a residential dormitory. A rare example in the state of Chateauesque architecture, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.

Morrill Hall is a campus building of the University of Vermont (UVM), which is located on the southeast corner of the "University Green" in Burlington, Vermont (on the corner of Main Street and University Place). The building was named after U.S. Senator, Justin Smith Morrill who authored the Morrill Land-Grant Acts of 1862 and 1890, which created the American Land-Grant universities and colleges. Senator Morrill also served as a trustee of the university from 1865 until 1898. The building was constructed during 1906–07 to serve as the home of the UVM Agriculture Department and the Agricultural Experiment Station. It was added to National Register of Historic Places as part of University Green Historic District on April 14, 1975. As of 2015, the building continues to house the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the UVM Agricultural Extension Service.

The Chittenden-3-4 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan was developed & passed in 2012 following the 2010 Census. The rest of Burlington is represented by the Chittenden-3-1, Chittenden-3-2, Chittenden-3-3, Chittenden-3-5 and Chittenden-3-6 districts. At the time of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there were a total of 150 Representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two member Chittenden-3-4 District had a population of 8,792 in that same census, 8.3% above the state average.

The University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) is a five-campus academic medical facility under the corporate umbrella of the University of Vermont Health Network that is anchored by a 562-bed hospital. UVMMC is located in Burlington, Vermont, and serves as both a regional referral center (providing advanced care to approximately one million people in Vermont and northern New York) and a community hospital (for approximately 160,000 residents in the Chittenden and Grand Isle Vermont counties). The hospital was formerly known as the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont and later as Fletcher Allen Health Care until getting its current name. It is affiliated with the University of Vermont's Robert Larner College of Medicine and its College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The Old Mill Building (historically known as the Main College Building) is the oldest campus building of the University of Vermont (UVM) and is located along the central eastern side of the "University Green" in Burlington, Vermont.

The Billings Memorial Library is located on the campus of the University of Vermont in Burlington. Built in 1883, it was designed by American architect Henry Hobson Richardson to resemble the Winn Library in Woburn, Massachusetts, United States.

Ira Allen Chapel is a building on the campus of the University of Vermont (UVM), which is located on the northeast corner of the "University Green" in Burlington, Vermont (on the corner of Colchester Avenue and University Place). The building was constructed during 1925–26, and dedicated on January 14, 1927. It was added to National Register of Historic Places as part of University Green Historic District on April 14, 1975.

The University Green Historic District encompasses the central green and surrounding buildings of the main campus of the University of Vermont (UVM) in Burlington, Vermont. The green took shape in 1801, and has been a central element of the campus since then. It is flanked by some of the university's oldest and most architecturally important buildings, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
