Elkhart County is a county located in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of 2020, the county's population was 207,047. The county seat is Goshen. Elkhart County is part of the Elkhart-Goshen Metropolitan Statistical Area, which in turn is part of the South Bend-Elkhart-Mishawaka Combined Statistical Area. It is also considered part of the broader region of Northern Indiana known as Michiana, and is 20 miles (32 km) east of South Bend, Indiana, 110 miles (180 km) east of Chicago, Illinois, and 150 miles (240 km) north of Indianapolis, Indiana. The area is referred to by locals as the recreation vehicle (RV) capital of the world and is known for its sizable Amish and Old Order Mennonite population.

Elkhart County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located at Goshen, Elkhart County, Indiana, USA. It was originally built in 1868–1870, and renovated between 1905 and 1908 in the Renaissance Revival style. It is a three-story, brick building with a clay tile dome tower. It features a portico with four freestanding Doric order columns, with stylized triglyphs, set on a rusticated podium.: 2 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Goshen ( GOH-shən) is a city in and the county seat of Elkhart County, Indiana, United States. It is the smaller of the two principal cities of the Elkhart–Goshen Metropolitan Statistical Area, which in turn is part of the South Bend–Elkhart–Mishawaka Combined Statistical Area. It is located in the northern part of Indiana near the Michigan border, in a region known as Michiana. Goshen is located 10 miles southeast of Elkhart, 25 miles southeast of South Bend, 120 miles east of Chicago, and 150 miles north of Indianapolis. The population was 34,517 at the 2020 census.The city is known as an extremely prominent recreational vehicle and accessories manufacturing center, the home of Goshen College, a small Mennonite liberal arts college, and the Elkhart County 4-H Fair, one of the largest county fairs in the United States.

Goshen Carnegie Public Library, also known as the Goshen Public Library, is a historic Carnegie library located at Goshen, Elkhart County, Indiana. It was built in 1901, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, Beaux-Arts style building clad in Bedford limestone. It has a red tile roof and projecting entrance pavilion with two Tuscan order columns. Its construction was funded with $25,000 provided by the Carnegie Foundation.: 2–3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.The building today houses the Goshen City Hall. The current Goshen Public Library is located at 601 South 5th Street.

The district encompasses 26 contributing buildings in the central business district of Nappanee. It was developed between about 1874 and 1939, and includes notable examples of Italianate and Classical Revival style architecture. Notable buildings include the Bechtel Building (1888), U.S. Post Office, Dietrich Block, Kaufman's Department Store (1902), First National Bank, Yoder's Garage, B&O Depot, Hartman Brothers Building (1881, 1914), and Farmers and Traders Bank (1915).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Other notable buildings include the Kindy Block (1881), Central Block (1882), Spohn Building (1909), Harper Block (1888), Noble Building (c. 1885), Jefferson Theater (1907), General Baptist Church (1859), First Methodist Church (1874), and St. James Episcopal Church (1862).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Goshen College is a private Mennonite liberal arts college in Goshen, Indiana. It was founded in 1894 as the Elkhart Institute of Science, Industry and the Arts, and is affiliated with Mennonite Church USA. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and has an enrollment of 749 students. While Goshen maintains a distinctive liberal Mennonite worldview and Mennonites make up 30 percent of the student body, it admits students of all religions.Goshen College is home to The Mennonite Quarterly Review and the Mennonite Historical Library, a research library compiling one of the world's most comprehensive collection of Anabaptist and Mennonite primary source material.
