The Disney Wilderness Preserve is a 11,500-acre nature reserve near Kissimmee, Florida. It was created through an agreement between The Walt Disney Company, The Nature Conservancy, and the state of Florida. It is located fifteen miles south of Walt Disney World.

Lake Marion Creek Wildlife Management Area is a 8,000-acre (32 km2) preserve in Polk County, Florida. It is five miles east of Haines City off SR 580. Lake Marion is in the area and there is a trail network. Wildlife in the area include White-tailed deer, wild hogs (an invasive species), wading birds, Florida scrub-jays, gopher tortoises, and sand skinks. A brochure and pdf map are online. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) website states it is a good area for squirrel hunting. Habitats in the area include white scrub sands, hilly scrub, pine flatwoods, and riverine swamp forest. The endangered blushing scrub balm wildflower grows in the area. As of 2025, a proposed route for a new tollroad would go through the plant's limited habitat. Snell Creek passes through the area. Bellini Preserve in Poinciana, Florida and Sherwool L. Stokes Preserve in Haines City are nearby on Lake Marion.

WPCV (97.5 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station, licensed to Winter Haven and serving Central Florida. It has a country music radio format and is owned and operated by Hall Communications. The radio studios and offices are in Lakeland. While the station predominantly covers Polk County, WPCV also serves listeners in Greater Orlando and parts of the Tampa Bay area, with its transmitter on Cypress Parkway in Haines City. It has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts, the maximum for non-grandfathered FM stations. The tower has a height above average terrain (HAAT) of 310 meters (1,020 ft). That makes WPCV one of few radio stations in Central Florida to reach both Atlantic and Gulf coasts.

Lake Tohopekaliga, Tohopeka (from tohopke /(i)to-hó:pk-i/ meaning fence, fort); Tohopekaliga (from tohopke /(i)to-hó:pk-i/ meaning fence, fort + likv /léyk-a/ meaning site), also referred to as Lake Toho, West Lake, or simply Toho, is the largest lake in Osceola County, Florida, United States. It is the primary inflow of Shingle Creek, which rises in Orlando. It covers 22,700 acres (91.86 km2), and spans 42 miles (68 km) in circumference. It is linked to East Lake Tohopekaliga by Canal 31 (St. Cloud Canal). The canal is 3 miles (5 km) long and runs through western St. Cloud. South Port canal is located at the southern tip of the lake and links it to Cypress Lake. It is 4 miles (6 km) long. Lake Toho is bordered on the northern shore by Kissimmee, on the eastern shore by Kissimmee Park, and South Port on the southern shore. Lake Tohopekaliga is known for its bass fishing and birdwatching. Lakefront Park is located at the North end of the lake and borders Lakeshore Blvd. Lakefront Park has a scenic walking path with benches where visitors may view the area's wide array of waterfowl, alligators, turtles and others. Lakefront park also has a miniature lighthouse, a children's playground area, and is bordered on its west end by Big Toho Marina.

SunRail Poinciana station is a train station in the community of Poinciana, Florida. It is the southern terminus of SunRail, the commuter rail service of Greater Orlando. The station opened on July 30, 2018. The site was briefly used by Amtrak from 1974 to 1975.

Campbell (often referred to locally as Campbell City) is a census-designated place and an unincorporated community in Osceola County, Florida, United States. Campbell City was named after Alfred Sidney Campbell who opened and operated the general store in the settlement. The population was 2,479 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area. Campbell is north of a predominantly Hispanic community known as Poinciana. Campbell has many cattle ranches and has a high school, a middle school and an elementary school.

Intercession City is an unincorporated community located in central Florida, United States, approximately five miles west of Kissimmee, in Osceola County, on Highway 17/92.Osceola County is in the Eastern time zone UTC-5. The average high temperature in July is 91.3 degrees, with an average low temperature in January of 47.2 degrees. The average rainfall is approximately 51.7 inches per year. The population was 851 as of 2010, with an estimated population of 1,492 as of 2015, mostly blue collar with a median family income of $37,000. 53 residents (5%) are 9 years old or younger, 173 residents (16%) are 10 to 17 years old, 298 residents (27%) are 18–24 years old, 181 residents (16%) are 25 to 39 years old, 368 residents (33%) 40 to 64 years old, and 38 residents (3%) are 65 years and older, the median age of people living in Intercession City is 29.7 years. The majority of residents are Non-Hispanic whites. Originally known as Interocean City, the region was first developed to be a resort with coast-to-coast canals, but the developer ran out of money to pay his workers in the 1920s.

Makinson Island is one of three islands in Lake Tohopekaliga, Osceola County, Florida. It was purchased by the State of Florida on December 31, 1998, in cooperation with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), The Trust for Public Land and Osceola County. Ownership was transferred to FWC on October 6, 1999. The park is managed by Osceola County as a natural refuge with trails, primitive camping sites, and a pavilion. The island was planned to developed into time-shares before it was purchased by the state. The island came with a derelict 34-passenger boat that was restored by Walt Disney World Resort and Mercury Marine and named "Spirit of Osceola".

Grenelefe is an unincorporated community and census-designated place located in Polk County, Florida, United States. Its population was 2,495 as of the 2020 census.

Paradise Island is one of three islands in Lake Tohopekaliga, Osceola County, Florida. It was purchased by the State of Florida on October 27, 2000 in cooperation with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), The Trust for Public Land, and Osceola County. Ownership was transferred to FWC on December 28, 2000. The island is managed by FWC as a wildlife and educational preserve.

The Davenport Historic District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on August 15, 1997) located in Davenport, Florida. The district is bounded by Suwannee and Orange Avenues, Palmento Street, and West Boulevard. It contains 28 historic buildings and 1 structure.
