Manchester Alternative General Information Centre (MAGIC) was an alternative society centre in Manchester, England, in the 1970s.

Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) is located in the centre of Manchester, England. The university has over 40,000 students and over 4,000 members of staff. It is home to four faculties (Arts and Humanities, Business and Law, Health and Education and Science and Engineering) and is one of the largest universities in the UK, measured by the size of its student population in 2020/21.

Manchester School of Art in Manchester, England, was established in 1838 as the Manchester School of Design. It is the second oldest art school in the United Kingdom after the Royal College of Art which was founded the year before. It is now part of Manchester Metropolitan University.

Artisan Heights, also known as 1-5 Wakefield Street, is a student accommodation high-rise tower in Manchester, England. The 95 m (312 ft) tall building was designed by SimpsonHaugh & Partners and contains 603 student bedrooms. As of 2023, it is the 17th-tallest building in Greater Manchester. The tower sits close to Oxford Road station and the Liberty Heights building, another high-rise student accommodation block.

Manchester and Salford Inner Relief Route is a ring road in Greater Manchester, England. It is the product of the amalgamation of several major roads around Manchester and Salford city centres to form a circular route. It was completed in 2004 with the opening of a final section to Trinity Way. A major component of the ring road is the Mancunian Way motorway to the south of Manchester city centre. When it was built, it was planned to be the first of many such inner-city elevated roads. The road is a pivotal part of the ring road for east–west traffic across the southern part of the city centre. The principal section of Trinity Way opened in 1987 easing congestion on Deansgate and opening a route north-west of the city centre. During 2019-2021, improvements were made to Great Ancoats Street north-east of the city centre, making it mostly dual carriageway.Great Ancoats Street (to the north and east), Trinity Way (to the north and west) and the Mancunian Way (to the south) almost formed a circle and it was decided to complete it. The final section to the south-west of Manchester city centre between the Mancunian Way near the Granada Studios and the end of Trinity Way at Salford Central railway station was completed on 29 November 2004.

Little Ireland was a slum district of Manchester, England in the early 19th century. It was inhabited from about 1827 to 1847 by poor Irish immigrants, and during its existence gained a reputation as the archetypal Irish district in nineteenth century industrial cities. Despite this reputation, the slum was the shortest lived of all the areas of Irish settlement in the city, and also the smallest, covering about four acres. The area existed south of Oxford Road railway station, enclosed by the railway line and the loop in the River Medlock.

The Manchester School of Architecture (MSA) is a School of Architecture, jointly administered by The University of Manchester and the Manchester Metropolitan University in the city of Manchester, England. The School was formed in 1996 with the merger of the architecture departments of the University of Manchester (then Victoria University of Manchester) and Manchester Metropolitan University. Students of MSA are classified as students of both universities and are issued with separate cards for each university, allowing them to use the resources and facilities of both institutions. Upon graduating the degree is awarded by both universities. The School covers three main aspects of architectural education. An undergraduate course (BA Hons) which has exemption to the RIBA Part One exam; a professional postgraduate course (MArch) offers exemption to the RIBA Part Two exams; and finally a range of postgraduate Masters and PhD courses.

New Broadcasting House (NBH) was the BBC's North West England headquarters on Oxford Road in Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester. The studios housed BBC Manchester, BBC North West, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Religion and Ethics department. It was known as a Network Production Centre, the others being in Birmingham (the now also demolished Pebble Mill Studios) and Broadcasting House, Bristol. New Broadcasting House was vacated during autumn 2011 when the departments were relocated to MediaCityUK outside of central Manchester in Salford Quays. The building was demolished in 2012.

Bridgewater Heights (also known as Liberty Heights, Wakefield Street Tower, or 17 New Wakefield Street) is a skyscraper apartment building in Manchester, England, west of Oxford Street. It was designed by local architect Stephen Hodder in a clustered architectural form and was completed in September 2012. The skyscraper is situated adjacent to Oxford Road railway station, on the corner of Great Marlborough Street. The skyscraper is 37 storeys high at a height of 106 m (348 ft) and as of 2023 is the 16th-tallest building in Manchester.
