Tasburgh

The A140 is an 'A-class' road in Norfolk and Suffolk, East Anglia, England partly following the route of the Roman Pye Road. It runs from the A14 near Needham Market to the A149 south of Cromer. It is of primary status for the entirety of its route. It is approximately 56 miles (90 km) in length.

Newton Flotman, meaning new farm or settlement, is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, lies about 7 miles (11 km) south of Norwich on the A140 road between Tasburgh and Swainsthorpe. The River Tas flows through the village. The area of 4.87 km2 (1.88 sq mi) had 1,197 inhabitants in 497 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 1,489 at the 2011 census. For local government it lies in the district of South Norfolk.

Flordon railway station served the village of Flordon, Norfolk. It was opened in 1849, when the line from London Liverpool Street to Norwich Victoria was constructed; the station was served by Eastern Union Railway stopping services between Norwich and Ipswich. It was closed in 1966, as a result of the Beeching Axe, along with other smaller stations between Norwich and Ipswich. The line through the former station site continues to operate today, hosting electric inter-city services between London Liverpool Street and Norwich.

Flordon is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The village is located 5.4 miles (8.7 km) south-east of Wymondham and 7.6 miles (12.2 km) south-west of Norwich.

South Norfolk is a local government district in Norfolk, England. The largest town is Wymondham, and the district also includes the towns of Costessey, Diss, Harleston, Hingham, Loddon and Long Stratton. The council was based in Long Stratton until 2023 when it moved to the Broadland Business Park near Norwich, in the neighbouring Broadland district, as part of a shared facility with Broadland District Council. Some of the district's urban areas (including Costessey) form part of the Norwich built-up area. The district also includes numerous villages and surrounding rural areas. Some eastern parts of the district lie within The Broads. The neighbouring districts are Breckland, Broadland, Norwich, Great Yarmouth, East Suffolk and Mid Suffolk.

The civil parish of Tharston and Hapton lies in the south of the county of Norfolk, England. It encompasses the two villages of Tharston and Hapton, covering 9.26 km2 (3.58 sq mi). The parish had a population of 599 in 231 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 793 at the 2011 census.

Smockmill Common is a 10-hectare (25-acre) Local Nature Reserve on the eastern outskirts of Newton Flotman in Norfolk. It is owned by the Shotesham Estate and managed by South Norfolk District Council.This site next to the River Tas has fen on the river bank and woodland and grassland in other areas. The flora is very diverse.There is access from Cargate Lane.

Long Stratton is a town and civil parish in Norfolk, England. It historically consisted of two villages; the larger, Stratton St. Mary, is to the south, and the other, Stratton St. Michael, is to the north. It had a population of 4,424 in the 2011 Census. South Norfolk Council are based in the town.

Long Stratton High School is a secondary school located in the town of Long Stratton in the English county of Norfolk. It educates children from ages 11 to 16 and has around 650 pupils at any one time. The school has a specialism in teaching Mathematics and ICT.

Flordon Common is a 9.9-hectare (24-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south-east of Wymondham in Norfolk. It is a registered common part of the Norfolk Valley Fens Special Area of Conservation.Springs emerge from this chalk valley of the River Tas, resulting in a species-rich calcareous fen, including the very rare narrow-mouthed whorl snail. On higher ground there is chalk grassland, which is traditionally managed by grazing, allowing the survival of many locally rare plants.The common is open to the public.

Hapton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Tharston and Hapton, in the South Norfolk district, in the county of Norfolk, England, located about nine miles south of Norwich. In 1931 the parish had a population of 159. On 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Tharston.The villages name means 'H(e)abba's farm/settlement'.

Saxlingham Nethergate is a village and civil parish in Norfolk, England, about 9.5 miles (15 km) south of Norwich. The civil parish has an area of 3.3 square miles (8.5 km2) and the 2001 Census recorded a population of 676 in 276 households, the population increasing to 688 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of South Norfolk. The Church of England parish church of St. Mary is Decorated Gothic, with a chancel, nave and square west tower with a ring of eight bells. In 1867 the church was thoroughly restored, the nave enlarged, a vestry added and a stained glass window inserted in the tower: several of the other windows are stained glass. Saxlingham Nethergate Church of England Primary school is a mixed school for ages 4 - 11 with a capacity of 77 pupils and was rated GOOD in its 2018 Ofsted inspection
