Riverside Historic District (Muncie, Indiana)

Alva Kitselman House, also known as "Hazelwood" and Parlour @ Hazelwood, is a historic home located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. It was built in 1915, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, "L"-plan, Colonial Revival style brick mansion. It features a central portico with Ionic order columns and consists of a hipped roof main block with 2+1⁄2-story rear service wing. Also on the property are the contributing carriage house and decorative steel fence. The property was acquired by Parlour Salon Group in 2018.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

The John Valentine House, now replaced by the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity House, was a Prairie School style building in Muncie, Indiana. It was designed by Barry Byrne and was built in 1918. Formerly the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity house. Now site of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house at Ball State University, 1101 Riverside Avenue in Muncie, occupies the site of the John Valentine House. The house was designed by Barry Byrne and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It appears to have been destroyed and was removed from the National Register on March 22, 2014.

Otto Carmichael House, also known as the Mary Louise Farm, is a historic home located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. The original section was built in 1875, and later enlarged and remodeled in 1929. It is a rambling 2+1⁄2-story, brick and frame dwelling Colonial Revival and Tudor Revival design elements. It features steeply pitched gable roofs. It is associated with noted journalist and civic leader Otto Carmichael.: 4, 7 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The John R. Emens College-Community Auditorium, or Emens Auditorium, is an auditorium on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, United States. The facility is used to host Broadway shows, plays, multi-genre concerts, and university events, as well as regional events for eastern Indiana. Emens Auditorium has a seating capacity of 3,581. The Auditorium was opened on March 14, 1964, when Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians performed. Attached to the rear of the facility is a smaller theater used for performing arts shows.

Meeks Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana, USA. It encompasses 25 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Muncie. The district developed between about 1904 and 1939, and includes notable examples of Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. A notable building is a service station constructed in 1939.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Ball State University (Ball State, State or BSU) is a public research university in Muncie, Indiana. It has two satellite facilities in Fishers and Indianapolis. In 1917, the Ball brothers, industrialists and founders of the Ball Corporation, acquired the foreclosed Indiana Normal Institute and gave the school and surrounding land to the State of Indiana. The Indiana General Assembly accepted the donation in the spring of 1918, with an initial 235 students enrolling at the Indiana State Normal School – Eastern Division on June 17, 1918. Ball State is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". The university is composed of seven academic colleges. As of Fall 2020, total enrollment was 21,597 students, including 15,205 undergraduates and 5,817 postgraduates. The university offers about 120 undergraduate majors and 130 minor areas of study and more than 100 master's, doctoral, certificate, and specialist degrees.Ball State athletic teams compete in Division I of the NCAA and are known as the Ball State Cardinals. The Alexander M. Bracken Library is the main library on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Opened in September 1975 and designed by Walter Scholer and Associates and the Perkins and Will Partnership of Chicago, the 320,000-square-foot facility is located in the geographic center of the Ball State University campus and is distinguishable for its unique, Brutalist architecture.The main collection of Ball State's University Libraries, the Bracken Library holds a collection of over of 1.5 million print volumes, over 2,900 periodical subscriptions, over 1 million microforms, nearly 98,000 government documents, and over 120,000 maps as well as audiovisual materials, music scores, and archival resources. In addition, Bracken Library visitors have online access to scholarly literature, learning objects, and primary sources though over 65 electronic research databases including the Digital Media Repository and Cardinal Scholar Institutional Repository which provide access to digitized archival resources and Ball State scholarly works. On average, the library receives more than 4,500 visitors per day to access collections materials, participate in instruction sessions and consultations, and use technology resources.The library is named for Alexander M. Bracken, Muncie lawyer and philanthropist who served as a member of the State Teachers College Board and the Ball State University Board of Trustees from 1954 to 1980 who “was instrumental in Ball State’s rapid growth in the decades following World War II.”A casting of Albin Polasek's Forest Idyll is displayed on the first floor lobby of Bracken Library. The sculpture serves as a popular meeting place for students and is colloquially referred to as "The Naked Lady."

The Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER), formerly the Bureau of Business Research, is an economic policy and forecasting research center housed within the Miller College of Business at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, USA. CBER research encompasses health care, public finance, regional economics, transportation, and energy sector studies. In addition to research, CBER serves as the forecasting element in the Muncie area – hosting five state and federal economic forecasting roundtables.

Teachers College is an academic college of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Teachers College is housed in a 10-story, 138 feet (42 m) building which is the second tallest in Delaware County. It is home to six academic departments: Early Childhood, Youth, and Family Studies, Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, Educational Studies, Elementary Education, and Special Education. It also houses the Office of the Dean and the Office of Teacher Education Services and Clinical Practice.

Notable buildings include Temple Beth-El (1922), First Church of Christ Scientist, Wittmore Apartments (c. 1910), Martin Sisters House (1879-1880), Christian Church / Wesleyan Chapel (1875), Vandercook House (1887), First English Lutheran Church (c. 1891), Muncie Hospital and Invalids Home (1890), and Ira Hunter House (c. 1865).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
