Old West End Historic District (Muncie, Indiana)

The West Washington Street Bridge is a historic concrete arch bridge in Muncie, Indiana, United States. It spans the White River, connecting Washington Street and Meeks Avenue. It was designed by Charles Armintrout, who was the Delaware County Engineer at the time. The bridge has four elliptical arch spans. The steel reinforcements of the arch rings extend deep into the bridge's piers and abutments, allowing the piers to be substantially thinner. This design was inspired by the works of Edwin Thacher. Although this bridge is made of concrete, a series of recessed panels, which have the aggregate exposed, provides texture and contrast.Three plaques are embedded into the railing of the bridge. Two of the plaques include the names of the Delaware County Commissioners, the County Auditor, the original construction company, the restoration contractor, and the Delaware County Council. The third plaque includes a commendation regarding the bridge's restoration in 1996.

Meeks Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana, USA. It encompasses 25 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Muncie. The district developed between about 1904 and 1939, and includes notable examples of Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. A notable building is a service station constructed in 1939.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Eli Hoover House and Confectionery is a historic home and confectionery located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. The house was built in 1899, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, Queen Anne style red brick dwelling with limestone detailing. It has a multiple gable roof, corner entrance, and slate fishscale shingles on the gable ends. It was originally built for residential and commercial purposes.: 80–81 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Otto Carmichael House, also known as the Mary Louise Farm, is a historic home located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. The original section was built in 1875, and later enlarged and remodeled in 1929. It is a rambling 2+1⁄2-story, brick and frame dwelling Colonial Revival and Tudor Revival design elements. It features steeply pitched gable roofs. It is associated with noted journalist and civic leader Otto Carmichael.: 4, 7 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Judson Building is a historic apartment building located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. It was built about 1900, and is a two-story, five bay by nine bay, Romanesque Revival style red brick building. It has a flat roof, segmental arch openings, and projecting angular bays.: 79 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Muncie Union Station was a passenger railroad station in Muncie, Indiana at 630 South High Street. As a union station, in earlier decades it served the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway (the 'Big Four') and the New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad (the 'Nickel Plate Road'). Made of limestone, it was built in 1883 in the Romanesque Revival style, for the CCC & St. L. Other stations in Muncie served the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad, the Muncie Street Railway and the Pennsylvania Railroad. In later years the New York Central, the parent company for the CCC & St. L., continued passenger trains in its own name. In 1959, the last Nickel Plate passenger trains left the station. The final passenger trains, discontinued in the liquidation of routes for the switchover to Amtrak in 1971, were unnamed Indianapolis - Cleveland Penn Central east- and westbound remnants of the Southwestern Limited. The station was demolished by 1990.

Walnut Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. It encompasses 66 contributing buildings and 1 contributing object, and is located in the central business district of Muncie. The district includes notable examples of Italianate, Late Victorian, Colonial Revival, and Beaux-Arts style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed Moore-Youse-Maxon House, Roberts Hotel, and Goddard Warehouse. Other notable buildings include the Patterson Bock (c. 1876), McNaughton Block (1901-1903), Mitchell Block (1909), American National Bank Building (1924), Marsh Block (1888), and the Old Post Office designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under James Knox Taylor (1907, 1930).: 50–53 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Roberts Hotel is a historic hotel located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. It was built in 1921, and is a six-story, Colonial Revival style steel-frame building sheathed in red brick with limestone detailing. The basement, first, and mezzanine floors measure 120 feet by 125 feet, where the second through sixth floors above are L-shaped. It has a flat roof behind a parapet. The hotel closed in 1972, but reopened in 1976.: 2, 5  The building has been renovated into loft apartments. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is located in the Walnut Street Historic District. George Roberts, the hotel's proprietor, was a Jew who fled from Russia to the United States in the late 1890s, among others from his native village, in order to avoid being drafted into the Russian Czar's army. In Muncie, he also started and owned a dry goods store. George Roberts lost everything in the Depression, entered the oil business, then died of a heart attack in a tent in the oil fields of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His grandson is Henry Kravis.

Francis T. Roots Building, also known as the Roots Building, is a historic commercial building located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. It was built in 1895, and is a three-story, square plan, Queen Anne style brick building. The building features marble and limestone panels, projecting bays, and a corner turret. The building was remodeled about 1940 and restored in the 1980s.: 2–3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

F. D. Rose Building, also known as Rose Court, is a historic commercial building located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. It was built in 1926, and is a two-story, rectangular, Rural Medieval style brick building. The building features a steep slate gable roof concealing a flat roof, an arcade / atrium plan, and a stucco and half-timber exterior.: 2–3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Moore–Youse–Maxon House, also known as the Moore–Youse Home Museum, is a historic home located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. It was built about 1860, and is a two-story, three-bay, vernacular Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It features a rebuilt front porch with sawnwork and brackets. It has a two-story rear addition. The house remained in the same family from 1864 to 1982.: 2  The building is operated by the Delaware County Historical Society as a historic house museum. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is located in the Walnut Street Historic District.
