St. Melyd Golf Links railway station

Prestatyn Community Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Cymunedol Prestatyn) was a community hospital in Prestatyn, Wales. It was managed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

Woodland Park was an unstaffed halt on the Dyserth branch line in North Wales. The branch opened in 1869 for mineral traffic. In 1905 the LNWR began an innovative passenger service along the branch using steam Railmotors. The halt opened with the new service. It was situated in an open country next to an overbridge carrying the road to Rhuddlan. Although the road is shown as "Meliden Road" on both maps of the era and modern maps the halt was named Rhuddlan Road. In the 1920s the substantial Woodland Park housing estate was built between the line and Prestatyn, utterly changing the character of the area. The halt was renamed Woodland Park in 1923 to reflect this new market. Railmotors had retracting steps so conventional raised platforms were not needed. The halt was therefore built with a very short ground level platform. Initially, it had no waiting facilities whatever, but by 1910 a cabin little larger than two phone booths were provided. The passenger service lasted only until 1930, when the LMS withdrew it. The line remained open to serve a quarry at Dyserth until its complete closure in 1973.Since closure most of the former railway has been converted into a footpath. At the former station site visitors on this walk will notice the ground being higher up on the left when walking from Prestatyn towards Dyserth; this was probably where the platform would have been.

Prestatyn High School is the only secondary school in the town of Prestatyn, and one of 9 secondary schools in the entire county of Denbighshire. It is one of the largest schools in the region and the country with over 1,800 pupils and 250 staff. The school is taught through the English medium.

It is also unique because pieces of track have been built into the ground as a feature of historical interest. The platform and signs have long gone, but a remaining piece of railing would have been there to separate the road and the railway. Meliden (Welsh: Alltmelyd) is a village between Prestatyn and Dyserth in Denbighshire, Wales. It grew up around the locality of lead mines and limestone quarries. The placename "Meliden" has variously been claimed to be derived from that of Bishop Melitus or St. Melyd (the village has the church of St. Melyd as its main place of worship); its Welsh placename, "Alltmelyd", means "wooded hill of Melyd". The railway between Prestatyn and Dyserth, long since lifted and formerly with sidings in the village, is now a public walkway and nature trek. It has a 9-hole golf course, which is split in half by the former railway/nature walk. The local school, St. Melyd Primary, is a feeder school to the High School, Prestatyn. Meliden's football club, Meliden F.C., reformed in 2008, joining the Clwyd Football League.Above the village is the limestone hill of Graig Fawr (153 metres, 502 feet) which belongs to the National Trust. The views from the crag include the coast from Llandudno to the Wirral, Snowdonia, neighbouring Moel Hiraddug, and many other hills of North Wales.

Meliden railway station served the mining village of Meliden, Flintshire (now Denbighshire), Wales, on the Dyserth branch line. It was used as a way of shipping minerals from the nearby quarries at Dyserth to Prestatyn. The branch line to Dyserth was opened by the LNWR in 1869, initially for mineral traffic only. A passenger service was instituted in 1905 but lasted only until 1930, when it was withdrawn by the LMS. The line remained open to serve a quarry at Dyserth until complete closure in 1973. Since closure the Prestatyn to Dyserth railway has become a nature walk. All that remains is the loading gauge and goods shed.

Gwaenysgor is a small village in Flintshire, Wales. Located near Prestatyn in north Wales, it lies at an elevation of 600 feet, 183 metres. There is one pub, the Eagle and Child. The remnants of RAF Prestatyn lie on the hill nearby. (St. Elmo's Summerhouse).

Prestatyn railway station on the North Wales Coast Line serves the town of Prestatyn in North Wales. The station was built on the Chester and Holyhead Railway (CHR) line and opened on 1 May 1848. The coming of the railway is credited with bringing large numbers of tourists and prosperity to the town. When the CHR was acquired by the London & North Western Railway (LNWR), further expansion occurred at Prestatyn and the station became a junction for a branch line to Dyserth. In the 1890s, the LNWR built the current station. Passenger numbers dipped significantly during the mid 20th century. After British Rail tried to close the station in the 1960s, the line and station were rationalised but remained operational. In 1979, the station was renovated. It is managed by Transport for Wales, who operate services from Cardiff Central, Birmingham International and Manchester Piccadilly to Holyhead and Llandudno; other services are provided by Avanti West Coast between Holyhead and London Euston.

Graig Fawr is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the preserved county of Clwyd, north Wales, now in Denbighshire. It is 153 metres (502 feet) high and located near Prestatyn. It is owned by the National Trust.

Alt-y-Craig railway station (later renamed Allt-y-Graig) was an unstaffed halt on the Dyserth branch line. Like Woodland Park further down the line, passengers would have had to access the station from a hill. The only piece of railway history that remains here is the bridge that people now walk on. The branch line to Dyserth was opened by the LNWR in 1869, initially for mineral traffic only. A passenger service was instituted in 1905 but lasted only until 1930, when it was withdrawn by the LMS. The line remained open to serve a quarry at Dyserth until complete closure in 1973.

Royal Air Force Prestatyn or more simply RAF Prestatyn is a former Royal Air Force radar post situated near Prestatyn, in Denbighshire, north-east Wales. The remains of some of the buildings are current. The rotor station is visible as a square building from most of Prestatyn, as it is situated on Gwaenysgor hill. The area around the post is fenced off as a TV satellite is alongside the buildings. The radar site was last used in the late 1960s and is now used by Prestatyn Rifle and Pistol target shooting club as their home range There was once a gun turret mounted out to sea that had a range of up to 5 km.
