The Legislative Assembly of Pernambuco (Portuguese: Assembleia Legislativa de Pernambuco, Alepe) is the unicameral legislature of the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. It has 49 state deputies elected by proportional representation. The most recent election was in 2018, with the Brazilian Socialist Party leading the coalition government.

TV Jornal is a Brazilian terrestrial television station licensed to Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco. It operates on PSIP channel 2 (UHF channel 35) and is affiliated to SBT. It is part of the Sistema Jornal do Commercio de Comunicação, a subsidiary of the JCPM Group, owned by businessman João Carlos Paes Mendonça. Founded on June 18, 1960, it is the oldest TV station still in operation in the Northeast Region of Brazil.

The Campo das Princesas Palace is the administrative headquarters of Pernambuco's executive branch, located in Recife, Brazil. Designed in 1786 by Governor José César Meneses, it was built in 1841 by engineer Morais Âncora, at the behest of Governor Francisco do Rego Barros, where the Royal Treasury used to be. It is located in the neighborhood of Santo Antônio (Antônio Vaz Island), in Praça da República, next to the Santa Isabel Theater and the Palace of Justice. In front of it is a centuries-old baobab tree, possibly the source of inspiration for Saint-Exupéry when he wrote The Little Prince.

Boa Viagem is a neighborhood in Recife, Pernambuco in the wealthy southern zone of the municipality. The neighborhood has one of the most visited beaches in Northeastern Brazil, Boa Viagem beach. The neighborhood has a population as of 2010 of 122,922 inhabitants, and an area of 753 hectares (2.91 sq mi).Thousands regularly gather on its wide sandy beaches that stretch for 8 km (5.0 mi). However, the beach is plagued by tiger shark attacks since Suape port was built in the 1990s, thought to have disrupted the sharks' behavior. Boa Viagem is the longest stretch of urbanized seafront in Brazil; its coastal reef calms the waves and helps keep the water at 25 °C (77 °F). Pina, Recife and Piedade, Jaboatão are the neighboring beaches. The district is a center of the city's social life. It hosts one of the biggest shopping centers in Brazil and South America—Shopping Center Recife with 465 stores and nearly 2,000,000 square feet (190,000 m2) of area. Boa Viagem is also home to Shopping Rio Mar, a high-end shopping center located along the coast of the river Capibaribe.Boa Viagem had a human development index in 2000 with 0.964, rivalling that of some Scandinavian countries, Japan, and Canada.The neighborhood is near the Recife International Airport.

Recife Metropolitan Area, officially the Metropolitan Region of Recife (Brazilian Portuguese: Região Metropolitana do Recife (RMR), or Grande Recife), is a major metropolitan area in Northeast Brazil with a population of 3,7 million as of 2022, centered on the state capital of Recife, Pernambuco. In 2017, it was ranked as the 8th largest metropolitan region nationally. The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) defines the region as a "metropolis" in its Area of Influence surveys, in terms of economic and social importance. The region's area of influence covers a large part of Northeast Brazil, including the entire states of Alagoas, Paraíba, and Pernambuco, in addition to portions of Bahia, Ceará, Maranhão, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, and Sergipe. Within this area of influence are the smaller cities of Natal, João Pessoa, Maceió, and Aracaju.

Santa Isabel Theater (Teatro de Santa Isabel in Portuguese) is located in the Brazilian city of Recife, capital of Pernambuco state. It was inaugurated on 18 May 1850, and seats 850 in the audience. It was named in honor of Princess Isabel of Braganza . Important artistic and political figures passed through the theater in the nineteenth century, including Castro Alves, Joaquim Nabuco and Emperor Pedro II of Brazil. The theater is located in Republic Square (Praça da República) in the district of Santo Antônio. It is adjacent to the Princesses Field Palace (residency of Pernambuco state governors) and the Pernambuco Justice Palace. The theater houses the Recife Symphony Orchestra.

Recife Antigo (Old Recife) is the historical section of central Recife, Brazil. It is located on the Island of Recife, near the Recife harbor. This historic area has been recently recovered and now holds several clubs, bars and a high-tech center called Porto Digital.

Ponte do Limoeiro (Limoeiro Bridge) is a bridge in the city of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. It connects Avenida Norte Miguel de Alencar to the Apolo pier, in the Recife neighborhood. Dating back to 1881, it was built from iron for the passage of trains destined for the city of Limoeiro. It was replaced by a reinforced concrete one on 30 July 1966.

TV Universitária is a Brazilian television station based in Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco. It operates on channel 11 (UHF digital 40) and is affiliated to TV Brasil. It belongs to the University Radio and TV Center of the Federal University of Pernambuco , which also includes radio stations Paulo Freire and Universitária FM. It was opened in 1968, being the first educational TV station created in the country.

Kahal Zur Israel was a Jewish synagogue located at Rua do Bom Jesus (Rua dos Judeus) number 197 in Recife, Brazil. It was established in 1636 by Portuguese and Spanish Sephardic Jews that had taken refuge in the Netherlands fleeing forced conversion and were joined by New Christians, who possibly helped to build the structure and were already living in the colony. It was the first synagogue erected in the Americas. The building is now a museum, including a Torah and bema as well as archeological excavations displaying various parts of the original synagogue, such as the mikveh.

Malakoff Tower (Portuguese: Torre Malakoff) is a tower located in Recife Antigo, Recife. This monument was built between 1835 and 1855 to be used as an observatory and as the main entrance and gateway for Arsenal da Marinha (Navy Arsenals) square. It has been registered as a Historical Patrimony and was named after a similar monument on the Crimean peninsula, used as a defense center for Sevastopol on the Crimean war. When the arsenals of the Navy were dismantled with the beginning of the Brazilian Republic, the tower was transferred to the heritage of Recife port and then abandoned and endangered. The city population, in association with cultural institutions leadership, mobilized against the demolition, using as an example the real strength of Malakoff on the Crimean war.The tower was renovated in 1999, keeping the old features of the Tunisian-style monument. Today, it is a cultural area and astronomical observatory: Cultural area – has the proposal involving science, art and technology. Works with exhibitions of photos, comics, among others and it is used to do popular manifestations as well. Astronomical observatory - it is one of the two astronomical observatories belonging to the space science museum. One here, at the Malakoff Tower, and the other one located in Olinda.

The Archeological, Historic and Geographic Institute of Pernambuco (Portuguese: Instituto Arqueológico, Histórico e Geográfico Pernambucano, IAHGP) is an organization dedicated to promoting research and preserving the historical, geographic, cultural, and social sciences of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. Located in the city of Recife, it was inaugurated on January 28, 1862. It is the oldest regional historical institute in Brazil and the second institution in the country dedicated to history, following the Brazilian Historic and Geographic Institute. The organization safeguards memories of Pernambuco's past, including significant events such as the early wars in the state, like the Battle of Guararapes. It also preserves the broader historical heritage of Pernambuco. Among its collection is a copy of Preciso, the sole document printed by the rebels of the Pernambucan revolt. This document outlines the actions planned by the newly constituted government, along with the press used to produce it.
