Kanithi Balancing Reservoir (KBR) is a reservoir in Ukkunagaram, Visakhapatnam, India. It is the water source for the entire Vizag steel plant and steel plant township.This large mass of water reservoir is for the captive consumption of the plant and the township alike and sits between the Township and the NH16. It draws its water from a special canal built exclusively for it from the Yeleru River flowing in East Godavari district. The reservoir spans 2.2 km by 2.0 km area with 0.5 Tmcft water storage capacity. Most of this fresh water consumption in the steel plant can be avoided by recycling the generated effluent water which is drained into the sea.

Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) is the medical technology park with Common Manufacturing Facilities & Common Scientific Facilities located in Nadupuru village area of Visakhapatnam, adjacent to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. The AMTZ is spread over an area of 270 acres and it has over 10 manufacturing units. It currently houses the Bio Valley Incubation Council, funded by the Department of Biotechnology, and the Kalam Institute of Health Technology. In April 2020, the AMTZ has started making rapid testing kits for COVID-19 and planned to start the manufacture of ventilators.

Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre is a cancer care hospital and research centre in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. This regional cancer centre is funded by the Government of India and Tata Memorial Centre. The Indian Council of Medical Research has recognized this referral Institution as a research organization.The director of the Institution, Dr. Digumarti Raghunadharao has been working in the progress since 2013. He has worked in the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad for more than 20 years and was a honoured recipient of Dr. B. C. Roy National Award for 2016.
