Oberbilk is an inner-city urban borough in the south-east of the German city of Düsseldorf. The back exit of the Central Station leads to Oberbilk. The new District Court of Düsseldorf is located in Oberbilk since 2010, as is the main office of the Communal Library of Düsseldorf. Oberbilk is also home to the Mitsubishi Electric Halle, a concert arena with a capacity for 7,500. Oberbilk has a high population density, with 27,570 people living in just 4.38 km2. Twenty-three percent are non-German, which is higher than the 17% found in Düsseldorf as a whole. Traditionally Oberbilk was a working class borough containing heavy industry. This changed in the 1980s and, following restructuring, employment is now dominated by the third sector. Unemployment is high.

Düsseldorf-Flingern station is a through station in the district of Flingern in the city of Düsseldorf in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The station was opened on 29 May 1988 on the new line opened by the Prussian state railways on 1 October 1891 between the Hamm Railway Bridge and Gerresheim as part of the construction of Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof. It has two platform tracks and it is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station.The station is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn lines S 8 between Mönchengladbach and Wuppertal-Oberbarmen or Hagen every 20 minutes, S 28 between Mettmann Stadtwald or Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof and Kaarster See every 20 and several S 68 services between Wuppertal-Vohwinkel and Langenfeld in the peak hour.It is also served by two tram lines: 706 and 709, operated by Rheinbahn at 10-minute intervals.

Flingern is a former blue-collar borough of Düsseldorf. Located northeast of Düsseldorf (proper), it is divided into two boroughs today: Flingern-Nord and Flingern-Süd. While Flingern-Nord has a younger population and is more attractive to middle-class families, Flingern-Süd is still mostly home to working-class people. Flingern was first mentioned in 1193 as a forested area that was ruled by the Knights Hayc of Flingern. In the 13th and 14th centuries the City of Düsseldorf grew on the grounds of the Knights Hayc von Flingern. By the end of the 14th century the knights lost their influence. Jan Wellem, Elector Palantine, constructed the Flinger Steinweg which was a paved road leading from Düsseldorf through Flingern to Gerresheim. During the Industrial Revolution Flingern became an industrial and working class town and to this day it has many old and new factories. Only the old facade remains of the old baths of the early 20th century, which has been converted into a modern wellness center on the inside. An old steel factory was converted to a popular discothèque called Stahlwerk and was one of the early venues playing Techno music in the 1990s.

Berg was a state—originally a county, later a duchy—in the Rhineland of Germany. Its capital was Düsseldorf. It existed as a distinct political entity from the early 12th to the 19th centuries. The name of the county lives on in the modern geographic term Bergisches Land, often misunderstood as bergiges Land (hilly country).

The Mitsubishi Electric Halle (formerly Philips Halle) is an indoor arena located in Düsseldorf, Germany. It opened in 1971 and has a capacity of 7,500 people. It was originally named after Dutch electronics conglomerate Philips. It was renamed the Mitsubishi Electric Halle in April 2011.It was home of the RheinEnergie Köln, for Euroleague games, for the 2006/2007 season. On 7 May 2001, Irish vocal pop band Westlife held a concert for their Where Dreams Come True Tour supporting their album Coast to Coast. In their early days, U2 played there on the 10 October 1984 as part of The Unforgettable Fire Tour. On June 29 2007 french electronic duo Daft Punk performed their first time in Germany with the Alive 2006/2007 tour. On 15 June 2019, British pop band Take That played a date as part of their European Greatest Hits Live tour. The nearest Train Station to the arena is Düsseldorf-Oberbilk, which is served by S-Bahn lines S1, S6 and during peak hours S68, Stadtbahn lines U74, U77 and U79 as well as Tram line 705.
