Koggenland (West Frisian: Koggelân) is a municipality in North Holland province and the region of West-Frisia of the Netherlands. It came into existence on 1 January 2007 upon the merger of the two former municipalities of Obdam and Wester-Koggenland. The name of the municipality refers to the historic Kogge from the middle-ages. A kogge or cogge was a jurisdiction area of several villages or bannen (mostly around 4 or 5).

Wester-Koggenland (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌʋɛstər ˈkɔɣə(n)lɑnt] ) is a former municipality of the Netherlands, located in the province of North Holland and the region of West-Frisia. The municipality ceased to exist on 1 January 2007 when it merged with Obdam to form the new municipality of Koggenland.

Avenhorn is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Koggenland, and lies about 9 km west of Hoorn.

It is a part of the municipality of Koggenland, and lies about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) east of Alkmaar.The village was first mentioned in 1365 as Spierdijck, and is a combination a long reed stick and dike. Spierdijk developed on the edge of the Wogmeer as a peat excavation village.The Catholic St Georgius Church is a three aisled cruciform church with needle spire which was built between 1849 and 1850.

Noorddijk is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wester-Koggenland, and lies about 7 km southeast of Heerhugowaard. The statistical area "Noorddijk", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 420.

Oudendijk is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Koggenland, and lies about 9 km (5.6 mi) southwest of Hoorn.

Grosthuizen is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Koggenland, and lies about 7 km southwest of Hoorn. The village was first mentioned in the 12th century 1420 Asthusa, and means "big (eastern) settlement". Grost (big) was added to distinguish from Oosthuizen. Later Ast (east) was dropped from the name. Grosthuizen developed as a peat excavation settlement in the 13th century. In 1874, a church was built, but demolished in 1965. Only a belfry remains.Grosthuizen was home to 307 people in 1840. It was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1854, when it was merged with Avenhorn. In 2007, it became part of the municipality of Koggenland.

Ursem is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Koggenland, and lies about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) east of Alkmaar and 30 kilometres (19 mi) north of Amsterdam and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west from Hoorn. A part of the village is located in the municipality of Alkmaar.

Noordbeemster is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the former municipality of Beemster, and lies about 9 km north of Purmerend. Since 2022 it has been part of the municipality of Purmerend. The statistical district "Noordbeemster", which covers the village and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 360.

Beets (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbeːts]) is a village in the northwest Netherlands. It is a part of the municipality of Edam-Volendam, North Holland, and lies about 9 km southwest of Hoorn.

Zuidermeer is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Koggenland and lies about 6 km west of Hoorn. The village was first mentioned in 1665 as Zuyder M., and means "southern lake". It refers to the Baarsdorpermeer which was poldered in 1624. Zuid- ("south") has been added to distinguish from Noordermeer. Zuidermeer was home to 87 people in 1840.In 1898, a railway station opened on the Alkmaar to Hoorn railway line. It closed in 1938. In 1934, the Catholic Our Lady of Lourdes Church was built with the expectation that the village would grow in the future. The village house moved into the church after the local pub closed down, and it was decided in 2007 to transform the church in a multifunctional centre.

Noordermeer is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Koggenland, and lies about 5 km east of Heerhugowaard. The hamlet was first mentioned in 1575 as Noore meer, and means "northern lake" which refers to the Baarsdorpermeer. Noorder ("northern") has been added to distinguish from Zuidermeer.Noordermeer is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Zuidermeer. It consists of about 25 houses.
