Noordeinde, Alkmaar

Graft (Dutch pronunciation: [ɣrɑft]) is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Alkmaar, and lies about 11 km south of the city of Alkmaar. The village was first mentioned in the 12th century as Greft, and means "dug waterway". Graft developed in the 13th century on the former island of Schermereiland after it had been enclosed with a dike.The former town hall is a stepped gable building in mannerist style from 1613.Graft was home to 458 people in 1840. It was a separate municipality until 1970, when it merged with De Rijp. In 2015, it became part of the municipality of Alkmaar.

De Rijp is a village and former island in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Alkmaar, and lies about 10 km northwest of Purmerend, between the Schermer and the Beemster polders. Before the poldering of the lakes surrounding it, De Rijp was famous for its herring industry. Today it is known for its characteristic rijksmonuments, which include some of the oldest wooden houses of North Holland. De Rijp was a separate municipality until 1970, when it merged with Graft.The statistical area "De Rijp", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 4020.

The Town Hall of De Rijp is a former city hall in De Rijp, Netherlands. The government offices have moved, but the former waag and burgerzaal are still used for weddings and other official proceedings. The rest of the building is in use as the local visitor's center of De Rijp.

Grootschermer is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. Since January 1, 2015 it has been a part of the municipality of Alkmaar, and lies about 12 km southeast of the city centre of Alkmaar. The village was first mentioned in the first half of the 11th century as Skirmere, and means "big white/clear lake". Grootschermer developed in the 13th century when a dike was constructed around the Eilandspolder. It was partially a peat excavation settlement. Until 1811, it consists of two linear settlements.The Dutch Reformed church is aisleless church with wooden tower which dates from 1762. It was restored between 1978 and 1980. The former town hall is a stepped gable building in mannerist style from 1639. Between 1938 and 1939, the former court house from Noordschermer was added to the back of the building.Grootschermer was home to 415 people in 1840. It used to be the capital of Zuid- en Noord-Schermer, but was merged into Schermer in 1970. In 2015, it became part of the municipality of Alkmaar.

Driehuizen is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Alkmaar, and lies about 8 km south of the city of Alkmaar. The name literally means Three houses, and was first mentioned in 1639.Driehuizen developed on the former island of Schermereiland. According to legend, there were three houses in 1603. After the Schermer was poldered in 1635, it received a road connection to Zuidschermer. Driehuizen was home to 156 people in 1840.The former Dutch Reformed church is an aisleless church with wooden tower which was built in 1912 as a replacement of the 1648 church. It is nowadays used as village house.

West-Graftdijk is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Alkmaar, and lies about 10 km south of the city of Alkmaar. The village has a small historical church, and to the north there is the bird area Eilandspolder.

The Wormer- en Jisperveld is a nature area, covering 18 km2 (of which 0.7 km2 are a protected area), situated between the towns De Rijp, Purmerend en Wormerveer. The area consists mainly of marshland, grassland and open water.
