Wormer- en Jisperveld

Jisp is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wormerland, and lies about 8 km west of Purmerend.

The village was first mentioned in 1575 as "Spykerboors Gat", and refers to the former meandering waterway between Beemster and Starnmeer. Spijkerboor has place name signs.

The town is situated in the Zaan district, on the eastern side of the river Zaan, across from Wormerveer. The town is surrounded by the nature area Wormer- en Jisperveld. The village of Oostknollendam, the polder Schaalsmeer (reclaimed in 1631), the polder Enge Wormer (reclaimed in 1634) and a part of the Markerpolder also historically belong to the area of Wormer. Wormer, together with Engewormer (Wormer c.a.), was a separate municipality until 1991, when it became a part of the new municipality of Wormerland.

Oost-Graftdijk is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Alkmaar, and lies about 11 km west of Purmerend.

Graft-De Rijp (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɣrɑvdəˈrɛip] (listen)) is a former municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Since 2015 it has been a part of Alkmaar. It is twinned with Chalfont St Giles in England.

HMS Elfin (pennant number T25) was a torpedo recovery vessel built for the Royal Navy. She was built by J. Samuel White & Company, East Cowes, Isle of Wight, was launched on 20 November 1933 and commissioned on 16 January 1934. She was builder's number 1754. Her home port was the Navy's torpedo trials establishment HMS Vernon, and she was based at Portland. A sistership, Redwing, was constructed under builder's number 1753 and was stationed at HMS Defiance, Devonport. Elfin was renamed Nettle during the Second World War, and was later sold for scrapping. She survived in mercantile service, and has been preserved.

De Rijp is a village and former island in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Alkmaar, and lies about 10 km northwest of Purmerend, between the Schermer and the Beemster polders. Before the poldering of the lakes surrounding it, De Rijp was famous for its herring industry. Today it is known for its characteristic rijksmonuments, which include some of the oldest wooden houses of North Holland. De Rijp was a separate municipality until 1970, when it merged with Graft.The statistical area "De Rijp", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 4020.

Oostknollendam is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wormerland, and lies about 17 km north west of Amsterdam.The village was first mentioned in 1529 as "tot Knollendam", and means "eastern end of the dam". Oost (east) has been added to distinguish from Westknollendam".Oost-Knollendam was home to 169 people in 1840.

De Bonte Hen (The Spotted Hen) is the name of an oil mill, located in the Zaanse Schans, Netherlands. De Bonte Hen is the northernmost of the mills in Zaanse Schans. The original mill was built in 1693. It was rebuilt In 1935 and restored in 1975. Since then, the mill has been operated weekly on a voluntary basis. It contains original oil cellars for the storage of oil made at the mill.

De Os (Dutch pronunciation: [də ˈʔɔs]) is an oil windmill in the Zaanse Schans, Zaanstad. Between the saw mills Het Jonge Schaap and Het Klaverblad is the hull of the oil mill De Os. The mill was built in 1663 and is one of the oldest industrial windmills in the Zaan. Until 1916 the mill was operating on wind power. In that year, the hood and wings were removed; the Os was converted to a warehouse. The barns are now occupied by the mill. The mill body was restored in recent years.

De Zoeker (The Seeker) is the name of an oil windmill, located in the Zaanse Schans, Zaanstad. Its purpose is to press seeds such as linseed and rapeseed into vegetable oil. It is the only oil mill still in operation, and is one of five remaining oil mills in the area. The mill was built in 1672 in Zaandijk. The mill continued with few interruptions until 1968, when it was moved to the Schans. The mill is owned by the Vereniging De Zaansche Molen.
