The Accorsi–Ometto Museum is a private museum based in Turin, northern Italy. It is chronologically the first decorative arts museum in Italy. The museum was originated from a legacy left by Pietro Accorsi (Turin, 1891–1982) and was opened by Giulio Ometto, president for life of the "Fondation Pietro Accorsi" and Director ad interim of the museum.

Casa Scaccabarozzi, commonly known as Fetta di Polenta (Fëtta 'd polenta in Piedmontese, meaning "slice of polenta"), is a historic building located in the Vanchiglia neighborhood of the northern Italian city of Turin. It is famous for its unusual and very thin trapezoidal plan and for being only 54 centimetres (1.77 ft) at its narrowest. Its primary nickname due to its resemblance to the shape to a slice of polenta.It was designed by famous architect Alessandro Antonelli, and its name derives from the surname of the architect's wife, Francesca Scaccabarozzi, a noblewoman from Cremona. The couple lived in the building for only a few years, and then moved to the adjacent building, also designed by Antonelli.

The University of Turin Department of Law is the law school of the University of Turin. It is commonly shortened UNITO Department of Law. It traces its roots to the founding of the University of Turin, and has produced or hosted some of the most outstanding jurists, statespeople and scholars in Italian and European history. Among its distinguished faculty and alumni are leading writers, philosophers and legal scholars. Nowadays the Department of Law continues the tradition, with particular strengths in the fields of private law, EU law, comparative law and related fields.

The National Museum of Cinema (Museo Nazionale del Cinema) located in Turin, Italy, is a motion picture museum fitted out inside the Mole Antonelliana tower. It is operated by the Maria Adriana Prolo Foundation, and the core of its collection is the result of the work of the historian and collector Maria Adriana Prolo. It was housed in the Palazzo Chiablese. In 2008, with 532,196 visitors, it reached the thirteenth place among the most visited Italian museums.

The Mole Antonelliana (pronounced [ˈmɔːle antonelˈljaːna]) is a major landmark building in Turin, Italy, named after its architect, Alessandro Antonelli. A mole in Italian is a building of monumental proportions. Construction began in 1863, soon after Italian unification, and was completed in 1889, after the architect's death. Originally conceived of as a synagogue, it now houses the National Museum of Cinema, and is believed to be the tallest museum in the world. A representation of the building is featured on the obverse of the Italian 2 euro cent coin. Catalan vaults are featured in the ceiling of the ground floor under the atrium, which are relatively rare in Italy but popular in Spain, where they originated.

The former Province of Turin (Italian: Provincia di Torino; Piedmontese: Provinsa ëd Turin; French: Province de Turin) was a province in the Piedmont region of Italy. Its capital was the city of Turin. The province existed until 31 December 2014, when it was replaced by the Metropolitan City of Turin.

Pô [po] was a department of the French Consulate and of the First French Empire in present-day Italy. It was named after the river Po. It was formed in 1802, when the Subalpine Republic (formerly the mainland portion of the Kingdom of Sardinia) was directly annexed to France. Its capital was Turin. The department was disbanded after the defeat of Napoleon in 1814. At the Congress of Vienna, the Savoyard King of Sardinia was restored in all his previous realms and domains, including Piedmont. Its territory is now part of the Italian province of Turin.

The Piedmontese Republic (Italian: Repubblica Piemontese) was a short-lived Sister Republic that existed between 1798 and 1799 on the territory of Piedmont during its military rule by the French First Republic.

The Subalpine Republic was a short-lived republic that existed between 1800 and 1802 on the territory of Piedmont during its military rule by Napoleonic France.

The Battle of Turin was fought in 312 between Roman emperor Constantine the Great and the troops of his rival Maxentius. Constantine won the battle, showing an early example of the tactical skill which was to characterise his later military career. The campaign ended with his more famous victory at the Milvian Bridge immediately outside of Rome.
