J.B. Petit High School for Girls

The J. N. Petit Library (officially the J. N. Petit Institute) is a membership library in a Grade II heritage structure in Fort, Mumbai. It was founded in 1898 by a group of Parsi students studying at Elphinstone College. Membership is open to residents of Mumbai.The library is one of the finest examples of Neo-Gothic architecture in Mumbai. In 2014–15, it was restored by a team led by the conservation architect Vikas Dilawari. The restoration project won the Award of Distinction under the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation in 2015.

The Alexandra Girls’ English Institution (commonly abbreviated as the AGEI), formerly known as the Alexandra Native Girls' English Institution, is a girls-only school in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Established on 1 September 1863 by Manockjee Cursetjee at his residence Villa Byculla, the institution is named after Princess Alexandra, who became the Princess of Wales upon her marriage to Albert Edward, Prince of Wales on 10 March 1863. The school was later moved to its present location at Hazarimal Somani Marg. Imparting education from nursery to tenth grade, the school is affiliated with the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education for all the grades up to fourth grade and with the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education from fifth to tenth grade. Its student–teacher ratio, 1:17, is better than the national ratio of 1:24.

Chemould Prescott Road, founded (as Gallery Chemould), is the first contemporary art gallery in Mumbai, India.

The Parsi Lying-in Hospital (PLIH), also known as Temulji's Lying-in Hospital, sometimes spelled Tehmulji's Lying-in Hospital, was one of the first maternity hospitals in Bombay (now Mumbai). It was co-founded by physician and obstetrician Temulji Bhicaji Nariman in 1887 and completed in 1895. Dwindling numbers of Parsi births in the latter half of the 20th century led to its closure.

The Cathedral & John Connon School is a co-educational private school founded in 1860 and located in Fort, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Hutatma Chowk ("Martyrs' Square, (Officially, Hutatma Smarak Chowk) ("Martyrs Memorial Square"), is a square in South Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The square hosts Flora Fountain and was known by that name until 1961 when it was officially renamed in memory of the members of Samyukta Maharashtra Samiti, who lost their lives when police fired upon their peaceful demonstration in 1956. A statue of a "Martyr with a Flame" stands next to Flora Fountain.

Kitab Khana (Hindi; literally "home for books") is an independent bookshop that was founded in 2010 inside Somaiya Bhavan, a 150-year-old building in Fort, Mumbai, India. The colonial-style structure with high ceilings and Corinthian columns often draws attention for its "old-world charm", even though the construction is recent. It has been called "India's most beautiful bookshop". The store is spread over two floors and has an in-house cafe. The shop has a wide collection of world literature, classics, and regional Indian literature in many languages, including Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi and Urdu In 2021, Financial Times included the shop in a list of "the most brilliant bookshops in the world".

Cross Maidan (formerly Parade Ground ) is a vast expanse of land in Mumbai. The term maidan means "playing ground" in Marathi. The ground measures 23,000 m². The name "Cross" is derived for the old stone Cross (crucifix) built when the city was under Portuguese rule in the 16th century. The maidan is under the jurisdiction of the district collector. In 2009 it was announced that a 30-foot tall steel sculpture inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's charkha would be installed at the maidan. In the same year, the government also announced that it would be laying a water tunnel from the Malabar Hill reservoir to Cross Maidan at the cost of Rs. 940 million. It is claimed that the South Mumbai locality will have adequate water supply once this water tunnel is completed.

The Bombay Gymkhana, established in 1875, is one of the premiere gentlemen clubs in the city of Mumbai, India. Bombay Gymkhana Rugby Club (rugby union) are tenants. It is located in the Fort area of South Mumbai area and was originally built as a British-only club, designed by English architect, Claude Batley.The Gymkhana's Grounds offers its members various sporting facilities like rugby, football, cricket, swimming, tennis, badminton, squash and also has a fitness centre. It is located at the triangular end of Azad Maidan and is in close proximity of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. The club regularly conducts sporting events and tournaments for its members and admission to the club is reserved by membership.

Bombay House is a historic privately owned building in the city of Mumbai, India that serves as the head office of the Tata Group.Situated near Hutatma Chowk, it was completed in 1924 and has been the Tata Group's headquarters ever since. The building is a four-story colonial structure built with Malad stone and was designed by Scottish architect George Wittet who designed over 40 buildings for the group and later became the head of Tata Engineering Company Limited, now Tata Motors. The building houses the office of chairman and all top directors of Tata Sons, the holding company. Core companies of the group-Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals, Tata Power, Tata Industries, Tata airlines and Trent -operate out of the Bombay House.

St. Thomas Cathedral, Mumbai, is the 300-year old cathedral church of the Diocese of Mumbai of the Church of North India. It is named in honour of Saint Thomas the Apostle, who is believed to have first brought Christianity to India. The cathedral is located in Horniman Circle, the historic centre of Mumbai. It is in close proximity to famous Mumbai landmarks such as Flora Fountain and Bombay House. It is the oldest church in Mumbai The Cathedral and John Connon School is run by the cathedral. The foundation stone of the church was first laid in 1676, although the church was only finally consecrated for divine service 1718. It is the first Anglican church in Mumbai (then called Bombay), within the walls of the fortified British settlement. The cathedral is a landmark in South Mumbai and is one of the oldest churches in India. The Cathedral and John Connon School was created in 1860, in order to provide choristers to the church. It is used by the school for its Founder's Day Service on 14 November every year, Carol Service on the last day before the school's Christmas vacation and other special occasions. The Churchgate railway station derives its name from the St. Thomas Cathedral, as the station was linked to the cathedral by a road leading through one of the three gates of the fortified island city of Mumbai. The walls of the Bombay Fort were demolished in 1862 and the gate leading to the church was replaced by the Flora Fountain in 1864.

Fashion Street refers to a cluster of over 385 street side clothing shops on MG Road near Azad Maidan and is opposite to Bombay Gymkhana, in South Mumbai, India.The market is located just opposite VSNL office building at Mahatma Gandhi Road (MG Road). It is a popular tourist destination, and is known for bargaining.In January 2011, as a part of the green drive of BMC along with Fashion Street Shopowners' Association, the market at Fashion Street stopped the use plastic bags, and switched to paper bag, now they are again using plastics made by the training workshop of the National Association of the Blind.It's a very large shopping place in Mumbai.
