Old Grist Mill

The Grist Mill Bridge is a historic bridge in Lebanon, Maine, carrying Little River Road across the Little River. Although the bridge has a 20th-century wooden deck on rubblestone abutments and pier, it is functionally similar to the bridge's original deck, which was also a wooden structure that may have existed as early as 1774. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a rare example of a bridge in the state with some essential 18th-century elements intact.

Lebanon is a town in York County, Maine, United States. The population was 6,469 at the 2020 census. Lebanon includes the villages of Center Lebanon, West Lebanon, North Lebanon, South Lebanon, and East Lebanon. It is the westernmost town in Maine. Lebanon is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine metropolitan statistical area.

The U.S. Post Office-Sanford Maine is the main post office of Sanford, Maine. It is located at 28 School Street, near the city's central business district. Built in 1932 and enlarged to include other federal offices in 1965, it is an architecturally distinguished building with Classical and Colonial Revival features. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Smith–Emery House is a historic house at 400 Main Street in the Springvale village of Sanford, Maine. Built in 1847, it is one of Sanford's largest and finest examples of Greek Revival architecture, and was owned by two prominent local businessmen. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The West Lebanon Historic District encompasses a rural village center in Lebanon, Maine. Built over a period of less than 100 years between the 1770s and 1870s, the small village at the junction of West Lebanon, Shapleigh, North Rochester, Orrills Hill, and Jim Grant Roads is a well-preserved example of a 19th-century rural Maine village. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The Little River is a 21.3-mile-long (34.3 km) tributary of the Salmon Falls River in the U.S. state of Maine. It rises from streams in York County, flows southwest through Lebanon, and reaches its confluence with the Salmon Falls River in Berwick.

East Rochester is a neighborhood within the city of Rochester, New Hampshire, United States, located on the banks of the Salmon Falls River which separates Maine from New Hampshire. Home to approximately 3,600 residents, the community is located 3 miles (5 km) east of Rochester proper, and is one of two villages (the other being Gonic) within city limits. The area was a farming community which developed into a small textile and shoe manufacturing mill town during the Industrial Revolution. The Abenaki people called the area's river Newichawannock, meaning "river with many falls", which in the 19th century became the source of water power for two mills. The first was called the Cocheco Woolen Manufacturing Company, with the second smaller one built upstream and called the White Mill. Between the 1880s and 1920s, "Eastside" (as it is referred to by locals) achieved its maximum growth. It was served by the Nashua & Rochester Railroad, which later became part of the Boston & Maine Railroad. Called "Rindgemere", the depot was located on Autumn Street. But during the Great Depression, the mills began to decline, and finally folded in the 1970s. With its principal employers gone, East Rochester slipped in its quality of life. More recently, however, the district has enjoyed a rebirth. Located near major routes and industrial centers, its small village ambience has attracted new residents, and several beautiful Victorian buildings have been restored. East Rochester gets a good percentage of local business from just across the border in Lebanon, Maine. East Rochester consists of a main street with several small shops and a shopping center known as Shoreyville Plaza, named after the original settlement in the area. Also on Main Street are two churches and a small library. In recent years, the old fire station (1902 till the early 1980s) has been converted into a museum, as fire services are now obtained from the main station in Rochester. A three-story block located on Main Street once housed the post office and a clothing store until the early 1980s, when the post office moved into a two-story brick block further north on Main Street. The area no longer has its post office, but East Rochester still has its own ZIP code (03868).

Noble High School is a public high school in North Berwick, Maine, United States serving students in grades 8-12 from the towns of Berwick, North Berwick, and Lebanon. NOBLE is an acronym for the three towns that NHS serves (NOrth Berwick, Berwick, and LEbanon). Noble High School was a member of the Coalition of Essential Schools.

The Lincoln School is a historic former one-room schoolhouse at 8 Orchard Road in Acton, Maine. Built in 1884, it is the best-preserved of the town's surviving district school buildings, and was its last active district school, closed in 1957. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The Morrell House is a historic house on Morrills Mill Road in North Berwick, Maine. Built in 1763 by a descendant of one of the area's first European settlers, it is a fine local example of Georgian craftsmanship. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Berwick is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Berwick in York County, Maine, United States. The population was 2,187 at the 2010 census, out of a total of 7,246 in the entire town. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area.
