Expo 2015 pavilions

Expo 2015 was a World Expo hosted by Milan, Italy. It opened on May 1 at 10:00 CEST and closed on October 31. Milan hosted an exposition for the second time; the first was the 1906 Milan International. The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) general assembly in Paris decided in favour of Milan on March 31, 2008. On November 23, 2010, the event was announced by the BIE. Expo 2015's theme was "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life".

Baranzate (Milanese: Baranzaa [barãˈtsaː]), formerly a frazione of the neighboring comune of Bollate, is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Milan, in the Italian region of Lombardy, about 8 kilometres (5 mi) northwest of Milan. It was created in 2004 after its previous establishment, in 2001, was declared unconstitutional. Baranzate is bordered by Bollate to the north and northwest, Novate Milanese to the east, and Milan's Roserio district to the south and southwest.

Cascina Merlata is a district ("quartiere") of Milan, Italy, part of the Zone 8 administrative division of the city. It is adjacent to the Expo 2015 exhibition site and borders the districts of Roserio, Gallaratese and Musocco, as well as the municipality of Pero.

Roserio is a district ("quartiere") of Milan, Italy, part of the Zone 8 administrative division of the city. It is the northernmost district, bordering on the comune of Baranzate. Before being annexed to Milan, it has been an autonomous comune, as well as part of Bollate and of Musocco. Roserio is best known for the Luigi Sacco hospital, located in Piazzale Roserio, which is a prominent hospital of Milan, and the most advanced in the treatment of infectious diseases. Roserio's main connection to Milan is a tramway (line 12) that has its terminal in Piazzale Roserio; the tramway goes south to the very centre of Milan (Piazza Duomo). Anyway, due to its geographical location, Roserio is much more connected to Baranzate than it is to Milan. Roserio is also the seat of a major CMP (Centro di Meccanizzazione Postale, Postal Mechanization Centre), i.e., a centre devoted to forwarding and sorting mail (especially international mail). In the 2000s, the Roserio CMP has been largely criticized for poor service, long delays and lost packages.

The Cimitero Maggiore di Milano ("Greater Cemetery of Milan"), also known as Cimitero di Musocco ("Musocco Cemetery"), is the largest cemetery of Milan, Italy. It is located in Zone 8, in the Musocco district (formerly a comune of its own), not far from the Garegnano Charterhouse. The cemetery has an overall area of 678,624 m2 (including 80,000 m2 of green space) with over 500,000 graves.

The Scuola Superiore d'Arte Applicata all'Industria del Castello Sforzesco or SUPER is a vocational school in Milan, in Lombardy in northern Italy, established on 2 July 1882. San Leonardo is a station on Line 1 of the Milan Metro in Milan, Italy. The station was opened on 12 April 1980 as the western terminus of the extension from Lotto to San Leonardo. On 28 September 1986, the line was extended to Molino Dorino. It is located on Via Gaetano Fichera, in the San Leonardo (Gallaratese) district, from which it takes its name. It is an underground station, located within the urban fare limit. The station has a car park with 333 spaces.

Rho Fiera railway station is a railway station in Italy. Located on the Turin–Milan railway, it serves the Fieramilano area in Rho. The station is located on Achille Grandi street. The train services are operated by Trenitalia and Trenord, and the station is one of the key nodes of the Milan suburban railway service.

Molino Dorino is a station on Line 1 of the Milan Metro in Milan, Italy. The station was opened on 28 September 1986 as a one-station extension of the line from San Leonardo. On 14 September 2005, the line was extended to Rho Fiera; Pero station was only added on 19 December 2005. It is an underground station, located near the city limit. The station is located between Via Molino Dorino and Via Francesco Cilea. The station has a car park with 1660 parking spaces.

Pero is a station on Line 1 of the Milan Metro. The station is located on Via Olona, which is in Pero, Italy. It was opened on 19 December 2005 on the section between Molino Dorino and Rho Fiera, which was already in operation. It is an underground station.

Rho Fiera is a station on Line 1 of the Milan Metro in Rho, Lombardy, Italy. It was opened on 14 September 2005 as a one-station extension from Molino Dorino; Pero station was only added on 19 December 2005. The station provides service to the FieraMilano exhibitition centre and is the current western terminus of the line. It is the westernmost station on the network. The station is outside the urban area of Milan. There is a special ticket, single or return, available for people travelling from Milan in order to visit the exhibitition centre by way of Rho Fiera station.
