Stoke EfW is a large incineration plant in the Sideway area of Stoke-on-Trent, England. It burns municipal waste and in the process produces electricity for the National Grid. It was originally built in 1989 and is operated by Hanford Waste Services Ltd. The original plant was found to release 300 times the standard level of dioxins, so was replaced with a new facility, opening in October 1998. The plant is dominated by a 76-metre-tall chimney stack and has a total installed generating capacity of 15.4 megawatts.

Sideway (pronounced "Siddaway") is an area of Stoke-on-Trent, approximately one mile south west of Stoke-upon-Trent, Stoke-on-Trent, in Staffordshire, England. It is located on the junction of the A500 and the A50 adjacent to the Bet365 Stadium. The area around the stadium was formerly a spoil tip for the Hem Heath Colliery, which closed in the mid-1990s; the stadium itself opened in 1997. The surrounding area has also been redeveloped and is home to a hotel, restaurant, health club and a number of car dealerships. Sideway is also home to a Michelin factory, a medium wave transmitter for Absolute Radio, Greatest Hits Radio Staffordshire & Cheshire and BBC Radio Stoke, and the base of Marcroft Engineering, a railway wagon repair company. It also has two lakes which are controlled by Fenton and District Angling Society. Michelin Ground was a cricket ground in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The ground was built and owned by the Michelin Tyre Company and was located along Campbell Road. Its location today would be next to the bridge halfway along Campbell Road which passes over the A500 road. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1928, when Staffordshire played Lincolnshire in the grounds first Minor Counties Championship match. From 1928 to 1951, the ground hosted 29 Minor Counties Championship matches, with the final Minor Counties Championship match held on the ground in 1951 with Northumberland as the opposition.In 1937, Staffordshire played the touring New Zealanders, with the New Zealanders winning by 158 runs.A combined Minor Counties team used the ground for a single first-class match 1953 against the touring Australians. The ground is now part of the Michelin sports complex and the cricket pitch has moved to another location on this large site.

Stoke railway works was set up in 1864 by the North Staffordshire Railway in the city of Stoke-on-Trent in the county of Staffordshire, England. The railway's first engines were supplied by a variety of outside manufacturers: Robert Stephenson and Company, Vulcan Foundry, Hudswell Clarke, Kitson and Company, Neilson and Company, as well as Sharp Brothers and Company who supplied six, including "Dragon" which opened the line in 1848. These were of the class known as "Little Sharpes". By 1864, the railway owned 64 locomotives. In 1868 the works was ready to build new machines, producing three 0-6-0 tank locomotives similar to a Hudswell Clarke design. New building finished when the LMS took over, and it closed in 1927, with the work transferring to Crewe. The site and almost all of the old building now makes up Hyde Park Industrial Estate

The Victoria Ground was the home ground of Stoke City from 1878 until 1997, when the club relocated to the Britannia Stadium after 119 years. At the time of its demolition it was the oldest operational ground in the Football League.

Stoke-on-Trent (often abbreviated to Stoke) is a city and unitary authority area in Staffordshire, England, with an area of 36 square miles (93 km2). In 2021, the city had an estimated population of 258,400. It is the largest settlement in Staffordshire and is surrounded by the towns of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Alsager, Kidsgrove and Biddulph, which form a conurbation around the city. The city is polycentric, formed from the federation of six towns in 1910. It took its name from the town of Stoke-upon-Trent where the main centre of government and the principal railway station in the district were located. Hanley is the primary commercial centre. The other four towns which form the city are Burslem, Tunstall, Longton and Fenton. The home of the pottery industry in England, it is known as The Potteries. It is a centre for service industries and distribution centres. It formerly had a primarily heavy industry sector.

Fenton railway station was opened in 1864 by the North Staffordshire Railway on its line to Derby. It closed in 1961. It was located in Heron Cross and was one of two stations in the area, the other being Fenton Manor. The buildings and platforms have been demolished although the site itself is still identifiable, occupied by a communications mast.

Heron Cross is a suburb situated between Blurton and Fenton, in Stoke on Trent. It has a pharmacy, two corner shops, two pubs, two hairdressers, a school, a park and a pot bank. It has two main streets, Grove Road and Heron Street. Heron Cross is a home to about 1,000 people. The school, Heron Cross Primary School is a primary school for people aged 3/4 to 10/11 (nursery to y6). Mrs Shenton is the current headteacher. Her time there extends from September 2008 to the present.

Christ Church is an Anglican church in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. It is in the parish of Stoke-upon-Trent and Fenton, and in the Diocese of Lichfield. The building is Grade II listed.

Fowlea Brook rises in Staffordshire and flows through the northern parts of Stoke-on-Trent, England. It is a tributary stream of the River Trent, and is 6 miles (9.7 km) long.

Fenton Town Hall is a municipal building in Albert Square in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. It is now occupied by local businesses, a café and an art gallery.
