The Salmon Falls River is a tributary of the Piscataqua River in the U.S. states of Maine and New Hampshire. It rises at Great East Lake, Newichawannock Canal, and Horn Pond and flows south-southeast for approximately 38 miles (61 km), forming the border between York County, Maine, and Strafford County, New Hampshire.The Salmon Falls River joins the Cochecho River near Dover, New Hampshire, to form the Piscataqua River.It provides hydroelectric power at the New Hampshire towns of Milton, North Rochester, East Rochester, New Hampshire, Somersworth, and Rollinsford, and in Maine at Berwick and South Berwick. The final three miles of the river, from South Berwick to the Piscataqua, are tidal. Local Abenaki Indians called the river Newichawannock (New-ik-a-WAN-nok), meaning "river with many falls". The Cochecho River (incorrectly Cocheco River) is a tributary of the Piscataqua River, 38.3 miles (61.6 km) long, in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. It rises in northern Strafford County and runs southeastward, through the town of Farmington and the cities of Rochester and Dover, where it provides hydroelectric power. Below the center of Dover, the river is tidal and joins the Salmon Falls River at the Maine border to form the Piscataqua. Significant tributaries include the Ela River, the Mad River, and the Isinglass River.

The Paul Family Farm is a historic farmstead at 106 Depot Road in Eliot, Maine. Consisting of a well-preserved early-19th century Federal style farmhouse and a small collection of early-20th century outbuildings, it is a representative example of 19th-century farming in the area. The farmhouse parlor is further notable for the c. 1820s stencilwork on its walls. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

St. Thomas Aquinas High School is a coeducational Catholic high school in Dover, New Hampshire, United States, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Manchester. It has a student population of approximately 455 and a faculty of 55.

Punkintown (or Punkin Town), once known as Emerytown, Emery Town, or Emeryville, was a village situated at the corners of South Berwick, Eliot, and York, Maine from the 1800s through the early 1900s. At its peak, between seven and ten families gave the small town its population of somewhere between 30 and 40 people. The families operated sawmills, a granite quarry, and a gristmill. Its main water source was York Pond, which bordered the village to the north. The town was located on a main road connecting Dover, NH to York, ME. To this day, this part of Eliot is still referred to as the "Punkintown section."

Eliot is a town in York County, Maine, United States. Originally settled in 1623, it was formerly a part of Kittery, to its east. After Kittery, it is the next most southern town in the state of Maine, lying on the Piscataqua River across from Portsmouth and Newington, New Hampshire. The population was 6,717 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine metropolitan statistical area. Eliot is home to Ambush Rock, Green Acre, and the Raitt Homestead Farm Museum.

Marshwood High School is a public high school in York County, Maine, United States. It serves the towns of Eliot and South Berwick, as well as Rollinsford, New Hampshire. It has been at its current location at 260 Dow Highway (Route 236) in South Berwick since September 1999, when it was moved from its previous location in Eliot. The current site is about 10 miles (16 km) from both Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Kittery, Maine. The school's mascot is the Hawk. The school offers a variety of varsity athletics.

The Tuttle Farm of Dover, New Hampshire, United States, is located between the tidal waters of the Bellamy and Piscataqua rivers on Dover Point, and has been operating continuously since 1632.Tuttle Farm, now known as Tender Crop, has often been referred to as having been the oldest known family-owned farm in the United States; however, this claim has been challenged. The Shirley Plantation in Charles City, Virginia, was founded in 1613 and has been in operation since 1638.

The First Parish Church Site-Dover Point is a historic church site on Dover Point Road in Dover, New Hampshire. It is the site of the second meetinghouse of the First Parish Church, a congregation established in 1633. Built in 1653 and demolished in the 18th century, its well-preserved site is one of the few colonial church sites known to be fortified against native attacks, with a log palisade and earthworks. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The William Fogg Library is the public library of Eliot, Maine. It is located at the junction of Old and State Roads, in an architecturally distinguished building constructed in 1907 via a bequest from Dr. John S. H. Fogg in memory of his father William. The building was designed by C. Howard Walker, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 21, 1991.

Vaughan Woods State Park is a public recreation area located along the Salmon Falls River on the western edge of South Berwick, Maine, at the New Hampshire border. The state park includes the restored Hamilton House, stands of old-growth forest, and 3 miles (4.8 km) of hiking trails. The lands were bequeathed to the state by Elizabeth Vaughan in 1949.

The Jonathan Hamilton House, also known as the Hamilton House, is a historic house at 40 Vaughan's Lane in South Berwick, Maine. Built between 1787 and 1788 by a merchant from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, this National Historic Landmark is a little-altered and high quality late Georgian country house. Acquired by preservationist friends of South Berwick native Sarah Orne Jewett at the turn of the 20th century, it is now a historic house museum owned by Historic New England, open for tours between June and October.
