Leusden (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈløːzdə(n)] (listen)) is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. It is located about 3 kilometres southeast of Amersfoort. The western part of the municipality lies on the slopes of the Utrecht Hill Ridge and is largely covered by forest and heathlands. The eastern parts lie in the Gelderse Vallei and are mostly agricultural. Former Amersfoort concentration camp lies just within the northern municipal border with Amersfoort.

Hoevelaken is a railway station in the municipality of Amersfoort (province of Utrecht) near Hoevelaken, the Netherlands. The station lies on the Oosterspoorweg, but is only served by Connexxion trains from the Valleilijn and opened on 9 December 2012. Previously, Hoevelaken had a station on the Utrecht - Zwolle railway line from 1905 to 1938.

The Heiligenberg is an estate near the Dutch town of Leusden. The estate is located on a 12-metre (39 ft) high hill, the "Heiligenberg" (Holy Mountain), which dates from the last ice age, about 10,000 years ago. On this hill, then known as Hohorst, bishop Ansfridus of Utrecht founded a small abbey around the year 1000. The abbey was moved to the city of Utrecht around 1030, as St. Paul's Abbey, but the Heiligenberg remained in their possession until 1592.In 1637, the house became an estate. It was torn down in 1843, after which the currently existing building was erected.

Intres B.V. is 100th in the list of Dutch companies in terms of income and number of employees for 2005 and 2006. In 2007, Intres had 1,237 members with 1,874 stores and organized the central payments for 2,419 companies. Intres is the largest retailers' cooperative in the Netherlands with a consumer income of €2.1 billion.

Asschat is a hamlet in the municipality Leusden, in the Dutch province of Utrecht. The hamlet is separated from the village of Leusden in the west by the Valleikanaal canal, and it borders the hamlet Snorrenhoef in the east. The name Asschat (1696) derives from af-schede, afscheiding: partition, indicating an old border.Asschat is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Leusden. It used to have place name signs, however they have been removed. In 1840, Asschat was home to 172 people. At the outbreak of World War II, it was the scene of heavy fighting. All the farms were set on fire to slow the German advance. The animals were set free, but some returned to their farm. Nowadays, it consists of about 20 houses.The family Scholten van Aschat is named after the hamlet.

Hooglanderveen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɦoːxlɑndərˈveːn]) is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Amersfoort, and lies about 4 km northeast of Amersfoort. It is notable for the presence of a large Catholic church. Formerly, the village of Hooglanderveen was located outside of the city limits of Amersfoort, but the new residential areas of Nieuwland and Vathorst now mean that Hooglanderveen is surrounded by the city from three sides.It was first mentioned in 1899 as Hooglanderveen, and means moorland of Hoogland. In 1918, a Catholic church was built in Hooglanderveen.

Amersfoort Schothorst is a railway station on the Utrecht–Kampen railway between Amersfoort and Zwolle. It is located in north Amersfoort, Netherlands. The station is operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS).

Hoevelaken is a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Nijkerk, and lies about 5 km east of Amersfoort. Hoevelaken was a separate municipality until 2000, when it was merged with Nijkerk.

Amersfoort Vathorst is a railway station on the Utrecht–Kampen railway between Amersfoort and Zwolle. It is located in north Amersfoort, Netherlands. The station is operated by the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS). The station opened 28 May 2006. The station has 3 tracks, 1 of which is for terminating trains from the Amersfoort direction. It is located in the area of the Vathorst and Hooglanderveen estates, which are still being built up.

Flint, formerly De Flint, is a theatre in the centre of Amersfoort, Netherlands built in 1977. It was designed by Onno Greiner. The Flint programme includes play, musicals, cabaret and performances for children.On 25 November 1990 the theatre burned down. There were signs of burglary. The damage was 10 million Dutch guilder. The theatre was rebuilt on the same location, and reopened in 1994.

Mariënhof is a defunct restaurant in Amersfoort, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1996 and retained that rating until 2001.Head chef of Mariënhof was Jon Sistermans.The restaurant ended due to the transfer of ownership of the former monastery from insurance company "Amersfoortse Verzekeringen" to the "Van den Tweel Horeca Groep". The new owners changed course and wanted the restaurant to leave the fine dining and move into a lower class. After Sistermans left, the restaurant was closed.Restaurant Mariënhof and its chef Jon Sistermans were at the centre of a big row around the restaurant review magazine Lekker in the year 2000. He accused Lekker of deliberately damaging restaurants and staff without reason. Sistermans started the campaign "Lekker Beest 2001" and an advertiser boycott, to let the magazine change course. The magazine gave in and appointed a new chief editor with a culinary background and softened its language.Head chef Sistermans was also culinary responsible for the Michelin starred De Rôtisserie in the same complex, although Mandy the Jong was the head chef in charge. Shortly after being burned down by “Lekker”, De Rôtisserie was awarded its own Michelin star.

The Mondriaan House (Dutch: Het Mondriaanhuis, Museum voor Constructieve en Concrete Kunst) is a museum in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, in the house where Piet Mondriaan was born in 1872. The museum lies in the historical centre of Amersfoort. The building of the Christian primary school, where the father of Mondriaan was headmaster, has also been incorporated in the museum building. In 1994, the house and the school were opened as a library and documentation centre. Since 2001 the Mondriaan House has been the only museum for constructive and concrete art in the Netherlands.
